Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon Chapter 1165 - 1162: The Universal Brand

Previously on Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon...
Corey delved deep into the mechanics of the Universal System, uncovering that skills, titles, and abilities manifest through intricate runes infused into the soul, automating power and growth under the influence of the Supreme Ancestor. As he elevated certain skills to Origin level, he grasped the soul's pivotal role in wielding these intangible forces. Pamela, a Rune Sage, gazed in awe at the vast array of complex, dormant runes adorning his fractured Cosmic Soul, many self-forged and beyond her comprehension. Undeterred by the risk of losing nearly all his powers, Corey resolved to destroy the Universal Brand within, confident he could reclaim them through time and knowledge. Hand in hand, they stepped into the depths of his soul.

While Pamela sensed Corey drawing her into his soul, she remained uncertain about what lay ahead.

Yet, an intuition told her that the adventure awaiting her would etch itself indelibly in her memory.

Her grasp on the nature of souls was quite limited, yet she suspected that dragging someone else's spirit into one's own soul wasn't ordinary or feasible at all.

The soul represented a profoundly delicate essence within any creature, and Pamela realized she could inflict excruciating torment and deliver a deadly wound to Corey if she chose to act within his soul.

It crossed her mind whether Corey's faith in her ran so deep that he'd expose this vulnerable core of his being to her.

Shaking off those musings, Pamela directed her focus toward the vast expanse within Corey's Cosmic Soul.

She beheld the stars close by and those far away, along with planets, swirling nebulae, the vast void, multiple black holes off in the distance, and even a roiling mass of black and golden lightning farther out.

Countless breathtaking spectacles and stunning vistas unfolded as Corey guided her deeper into his soul, leaving her utterly enchanted by the display.

For whatever reason, a hunch struck her that Corey's soul dwarfed even the scale of their universe.

Still, her logical side dismissed the notion as impossible.

Were his soul truly that immense, she wouldn't be able to discern so much detail within it.

Her sight wasn't that extraordinary, nor was her power that immense... not yet.

After what felt like an endless stretch of time, Corey halted, pulling Pamela's attention away from the marvels of his soul toward their current location.

She cast a quick look at Corey, then directed her eyes forward.

Ahead lay the boundary of Corey's Cosmic Soul, upon which an image appeared.

That image showed a sealed vertical eye in blue.

The instant Pamela laid eyes on it, her face turned grave. It resembled the Universal Brand etched on Corey's hand.

"This... It looks creepy as fuck." Pamela remarked, laced with a hint of repulsion, and Corey responded with a gentle chuckle and a grin.

"You’re right. But guess what... Every living being in the universe has this same creepy thing in their soul. Though, theirs would be of a different colour than mine."

Upon hearing those words, Pamela pieced it together.

Brands came in varying levels, and a higher Tier meant a superior brand level.

A level 1 brand has a red colour.

A level 2 brand has an orange colour.

A level 3 brand has a yellow colour.

A level 4 brand has a green colour.

A level 5 brand has a blue colour

A level 6 brand has an indigo colour.

And a level 7 brand has a violet colour.

Pamela remained unaware of the hues for brands beyond level 7, though she understood they were exceedingly uncommon.

Unless a person had accomplished something remarkable enough to prompt the Universal System to elevate their brand level, a level 8 brand pertained to Tier 8 entities, and Pamela had yet to meet any Tier 8 being in their actual form.

Letting out a quiet sigh, Pamela then voiced her question.

"When do you want to start?"

"Now obviously."

Pamela gave a nod, then turned her gaze back to the brand.

"Can’t believe I have something like this inside of me. It’s so creepy."

Corey let out a soft chuckle. "I can assist you in removing it, if you want."

With a subtle shake of her head and a bitter smile, Pamela replied. "Nah. No thank you. Let me see what’ll happen to you first before I do something as mad as this. If you die, then there’s no way I’m doing it since you’re way stronger than me."

"I guess that makes sense. Cowardly, but a wise decision to make honestly."

Corey nodded lightly, then advanced a step and released Pamela's hand.

"Let’s begin."

Corey lifted his right hand, the glow encircling it starting to fade. His stare grew frigid, and right as intensely dark runes began materializing around his hand, Pamela interrupted.

"Wait."

Corey stopped and regarded her with a furrowed brow.

"What is it?"

"We’ve not come to an agreement about us having a child."

Corey froze in surprise, staring at Pamela with a puzzled look.

"Is this really the right time to be saying this?"

Pamela affirmed with a nod. "Yes. We might not have time to talk about once we proceed."

Irritation flickered in Corey's eyes, followed by a tongue click as he redirected his attention to the Universal Brand.

"Do you want to have a child with the current me or the future me after I successfully become a completely new and more powerful race?"

A thoughtful gleam appeared in Pamela's eyes, and she responded gravely.

"You might die."

"I won’t." Corey declared with firm assurance and brevity, as his Eyes of Dreams and Nightmares shifted to pure white.

"I won’t die. So, stop wasting our precious time and attack it right now."

A faint smile tugged at Pamela's lips, and she pivoted to confront the blue eye.

"Sure thing. Future husband."

Corey's eyes spasmed briefly, though he offered no retort.

Above his hand, a deceptively straightforward yet profoundly intricate black rune surfaced, oozing dark fluid into the void of his Cosmic Soul.

Meanwhile, the cube composed of arcane runes materialized over Pamela's palms.

With no further delay, they launched their attacks at the vertical blue eye, and upon contact, a piercing cry of agony and rage resounded through Corey's consciousness and reverberated into the external realm.
