Corey stood up after calmly unwinding the bandages from his torso and arms.
As Corey began to stretch, his bones emitting a series of sharp cracks, a grave light flickered within Pamela’s eyes.
Looking toward her, Corey spoke.
"Were you able to fully understand the runes I gave you?"
Pamela’s eyebrows shot up as she met Corey’s gaze with a flat, deadpan expression.
"Really? I haven't even grasped 50% of those runes. If you claimed they were the most intricate runes in all of existence, I would believe you without question."
She lowered her gaze, her left hand tightening into a soft fist.
"I am still far too weak to comprehend runes of that magnitude."
Flying over to Pamela, Primus and Prima both reached out to cup her cheeks in their hands.
"Don’t be down, future mama," Prima whispered, while Primus nodded in agreement.
"Yeah. Don’t be sad. Once you give us a younger brother, your weakness will vanish."
Prima’s hands went to her hips as she glared at Primus. "And who said it’s going to be a boy? It might be a girl. No. I want a girl."
Primus let out a sneer. "It’s going to be a boy. Wasn’t I born before you?"
A vein throbbed at Prima’s temple, and she clenched her tiny right hand into a fist.
"It seems you want to die."
Primus scoffed, his expression full of arrogance. "You’re too weak to kill me."
With that, Prima lunged at Primus, and the two began to ’fight,’ their voices rising as they shouted at one another.
Corey’s right eye twitched repeatedly while he observed the pair of loud troublemakers he had brought into the world. He couldn't help but worry that his own creations might eventually be the death of him.
Corey exhaled a weary sigh; meanwhile, a gentle smile touched Pamela’s lips as she watched Primus and Prima brighten the atmosphere.
She wasn't sure if they were doing it intentionally or by instinct, but their playful antics significantly eased the anxiety weighing on her heart.
"Since you couldn't grasp half of them, exactly how much of the runes did you manage to understand?"
Corey’s voice reached her ears, forcing her to shift her focus away from Primus and Prima.
"49%. I was only capable of understanding 49% of the runes. No matter how hard I struggled, I couldn’t reach that 50% mark."
Corey’s lips twitched, and he felt a sudden impulse to slap Pamela across the face.
When she had mentioned not understanding up to 50%, he had assumed her comprehension was somewhere between 20% and 35%.
Not 49%.
While 49% was nearly 50%, Corey recognized that the final percentage point barring her progress would be an impossible wall for anyone lacking her specific talent.
Even he hadn't reached 49% comprehension of the two runes he had handed her, despite his thousands of Stars of Consciousness and the vast amount of time he had spent studying them.
He had only reached 42%, which served as a testament to just how incredible her natural talent truly was.
In less than a single week, she had grasped 49% of those two terrifyingly complex runes without the aid of thousands of Stars of Consciousness.
The moment that thought crossed Corey’s mind, his thoughts drifted toward Pamela’s request for a child.
A part of him—the side that always craved to experiment with the unknown—felt it would be fascinating to see what kind of offspring they would create.
Wouldn't it be intriguing to discover how such a child would turn out?
Corey immediately forced those thoughts from his mind, his expression turning terrified as cold sweat drenched his back.
Corey gave his head a small shake, then shifted his gaze to the Universal Brand located on the back of his left hand.
The first of the two runes Corey had shared with Pamela was the cube of esoteric runes he had obtained from Prince Zakar’el Eron’Lethe of the Letherions.
He had recorded this specific cube of esoteric runes while the Prince was attempting to trigger Rhea’s bloodline, taking a massive risk just to document them.
The second rune he had provided was the Time rune. This was the same rune he had caught a glimpse of when he accidentally stumbled into the River of Time, requiring the Paragon Ancestor’s wife to intervene and save him.
Even now, that rune sent shivers down his spine; despite his prowess, the rune remained incomplete with many missing fragments.
Yet, even in its broken state, it was far more perilous and complex than the cube of esoteric runes.
Corey turned his attention back to Pamela and clapped his hands together.
The world suddenly faded into shades of grey as a ripple began to expand slowly across the environment.
As the ripple washed over the area, every tool and object utilized in the making of Primus and Prima began to vanish from existence.
Pamela, Primus, and Prima stared around in shock, realizing to their horror that they were moving at a glacial pace within this monochrome world.
Corey had decelerated time until it reached a near-complete standstill.
A few moments passed before the grey world dissolved, leaving the Forge entirely empty.
The room was no longer cluttered with forging gear. Aside from Divine’s golden flames and a few scattered, unimportant chairs, nothing remained.
Pamela, Primus, and Prima scanned the empty space with curiosity and awe before turning their eyes toward Corey.
Upon seeing blood trickling from his eyes, their expressions filled with worry.
"Are you okay, Corey?" Pamela inquired, and Corey gave a nod.
"Yeah."
Corey wiped the blood away from his eyes before reaching his hand out toward Pamela.
"Come. Let’s enter my Sea of Consciousness and destroy the brand."
