Every time I approached the red gem to infuse it with divine energy, the flame elemental elders invariably joined me on the trip.

Yet, I noticed that their presence went beyond simply escorting me to the location.

Nor was it merely to witness the red gem's expansion as a beacon of hope.

Their gaze upon the red gem during my infusion of divine energy resembled that of guardians checking its vital condition.

That explained why, on the fourth day, the flame elemental elder declared, “It’s big enough now.”

Excitement lit up the faces of the other flame elementals upon hearing those words, and they promptly left to handle certain tasks.

I simply raised one eyebrow at the flame elemental elder, silently questioning the situation, but it paid no heed to my expression.

Apparently, the flame elemental elder's attention was fixed solely on the red gem, which continued to swell as I poured more divine energy into it.

Soon after, the rest of the flame elemental village had been called together by those who departed earlier. Additionally, I observed that nearly all of them carried items in their grasp.

Since these items consisted of pure flames, identifying them proved challenging for me, yet they appeared to be preparations for a ritual of some sort.

Though the flame elemental elder had previously insisted no such event would occur, now they transported objects clearly meant for that purpose. Evidently, whatever obstacle had existed before was no longer an issue.

As soon as every flame elemental assembled, they began arranging matters without delay.

However, their approach differed from what I had anticipated.

Rather than preparing within the crystal chamber, they opted to organize outside it, near the magma flow. They created unique vents in the crystal chamber to access the magma directly.

These vents functioned as one-directional passages, permitting exit while blocking any magma intrusion.

Such features on the crystal chamber came as a surprise to me, but the flame elementals' long-term residence here made their knowledge of these details unsurprising.

With preparations complete, the flame elemental elder turned toward me, as if on the verge of speaking.

For that reason, I halted my actions and awaited its words.

Noting that I had ceased the divine energy infusion, the flame elemental elder stated, “We’re about to host a ceremony, the one that you asked about previously. Since it’ll be dangerous for you to remain here, please follow me to a safe place.”

This announcement caught me off guard, yet my curiosity about the impending ritual drew me in. Thus, I replied simply, “But I want to observe.”

“We want you to observe as well.” The flame elemental elder's response surprised me further, followed by, “I’m guiding you to a safe place so you can observe this ceremony. It would be our honour to have the god’s representative observe our ceremony.”

Sincerity filled its tone as it spoke, leaving me even more puzzled inside.

Nevertheless, I trailed after the flame elemental elder as it showed the path ahead.

We arrived at the designated viewing spot in short order.

Still, a puzzled expression crossed my face upon seeing it.

“This is a very strange design...”

This idea dominated my thoughts as the door to the observation room swung open.

The entrance consisted of crystal forming part of the vast crystal tank. I had overlooked it before because the transparent crystals concealed the empty area beyond.

The closer I examined it, the less logical its placement seemed.

To begin with, what purpose could an observation room serve in the very area designed to contain the red gem?

Given their large numbers, completing the arrangements happened swiftly. The scale was impressive, as they held nothing back in splendor for this event.

Clearly, they aimed to craft the grandest ritual imaginable through this lavish display.

Aware of the flame elemental elder's concerns, I assured it, “Go on and take care of the ceremony. You don’t need to worry about me.”

Hearing this, the flame elemental elder nodded, sealed the chamber door behind me, and returned to the red gem.
