Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2002: It doesn’t matter
Previously on Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure...
"What on earth do they believe they're up to? Are they out of their minds?"
A grin slowly formed on my lips as I caught Klein uttering those words.
It was pretty obvious what he meant by that statement, after all.
There was just one matter he could possibly be talking about.
Following my discussion with King Lune, extra guards had abruptly shown up around the estate where we were residing.
The reason they provided was that recent troubles had arisen, so they were stationed there to ensure our protection. Yet their encirclement of the manor revealed it wasn't solely about safety.
Their positioning suggested they were mainly intent on trapping those inside from escaping.
It felt like they aimed to seal every possible gap to prevent any actions from within.
But treating a visitor like me in this manner...if the rest of the racial alliance caught wind of it...
It didn't take much imagination to predict the blow to the Solar Kingdom's position within the racial alliance.
That's precisely why I responded, "It doesn't matter, just ignore them. We're not pressed for time, so let's simply outlast them."
Klein and the rest of the royal guards shot me puzzled glances upon hearing this, yet I stayed composed, enjoying my morning meal while they gathered their thoughts.
I could understand their reaction since I'd been constantly on the move before.
However, the urgency had faded now that I'd located every god's messenger mentioned to me. Even if I wished to proceed, there was nowhere left to head.
Wandering aimlessly in search of another god's messenger would only squander effort.
Rather, it made more sense to consult the ones I'd already bound through contracts for insights. Plus, this presented an ideal opportunity to pause and strengthen the abilities gained from those pacts with the god's messengers.
Hence, there truly was no hurry to dash about at this point.
For Klein and the others who'd trailed me nonstop, though, this shift felt jarring compared to our previous pace.
It resembled slamming on the brakes after endless sprinting.
Their responses stirred a touch of reminiscence in me, reminiscent of experiences from my previous life, but I couldn't offer them much help.
This was simply something to endure and push past.
After a brief quiet spell, Klein inquired, "So, how much longer are you thinking of letting this drag on?"
"We'll observe for now. We don't know how long they intend to continue anyway."
Klein appeared dissatisfied with that reply, yet he held his tongue, aware of its truth.
Noticing his expression, I let a subtle smile show before adding, "They can't maintain this indefinitely. Once enough time elapses, external pressures will surely mount on them. They still have to consider the position I occupy."
A slight grin also crossed Klein's features as he grasped my implication fully.
We didn't need to lift a finger, really.
Actually, remaining indoors without venturing out suited us best.
Nobles had started arriving to meet us, and these weren't the prior visitors.
These were figures evidently tied to the royal family, who had driven away the previous ones.
Their purpose for coming was obviously to probe for details on me.
Beyond that, they posed various seemingly random questions. Still, keen observers could discern their true intentions.
Thus, I dismissed them all by claiming I felt unwell.
They seemed reluctant to back off, but with my refusal, they had no recourse.
Meanwhile, handling any covert intruders proved straightforward for us.
After all, Klein and his team were elite royal guards, capable of easily neutralizing sneaky threats if they chose.
Dispatching such forces indicated their intense desperation to succeed.
A full week slipped by in this fashion until envoys from the racial alliance arrived at the Solar Kingdom. Evidently, the kingdom couldn't suppress the news any longer.
The racial alliance united every nation across the continent, amassing far greater might than the Solar Kingdom alone.
It even included the four human empires.
A lone empire could already overpower this kingdom, let alone the additional realms from other races.
In the end, the Lune Royal Family was forced to approach me alongside the envoys, withdrawing all guards from the manor's perimeter.
Right up to the conclusion, I welcomed him with a grin and shared none of the insights he sought.
