Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 1975: You’re embarrassing me

Previously on Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure...
Lin Fan observed the unique nature of Insectum’s divine energy, realizing that while its propagation attribute allows for near-infinite defensive barriers, it lacks the offensive quality needed to purify corruption. After Insectum nearly revealed a secret regarding a prophecy, Lin Fan used his own divine flames to incinerate the massive accumulation of corruption energy within the pit. With the threat neutralized, Lin Fan noted the striking similarities in laziness between the God of Insects and the messenger Queenie. Having fulfilled his part of the deal, Lin Fan prepared to follow the spider god to claim his promised relic.

Insectum fell into a sudden silence the moment I gained mastery over the bracelet.

The spider itself remained present, yet it had ceased all communication with me.

It felt as though an intangible essence had vanished from the creature—something perceptible only to the soul, yet impossible to grasp.

Because the spider had served as my guide throughout this journey, I offered my hand to give it a lift, assuming we would have more to discuss later.

However, the arachnid showed no interest in accompanying me further.

Ignoring my outstretched palm, the spider retreated toward the ceiling. It used a strand of webbing to hoist itself upward and away into the shadows.

Watching it depart, a sense of unease washed over me regarding its abrupt exit.

It felt as if the entity simply had no desire to remain by my side...

I pushed those thoughts aside, however, and turned to exit the chamber.

Upon stepping out, I discovered Klein and the royal guards locked in a tense standoff with the elite guards. Their posture suggested they had been on the verge of storming the room to rescue me.

The tension only dissipated once they confirmed I was safe.

Reflecting on it now, a significant amount of time must have slipped away.

I had been so preoccupied with the tasks Insectum set for me that I had completely lost my sense of time.

A conflict might have truly erupted had my return been delayed any longer.

Klein and the royal guards immediately rushed forward to circle me, acting as though I were still in grave danger.

Despite the elite guards proving they meant no harm, my protectors clearly didn't trust them in the slightest.

I realized, however, that there was no use trying to convince them otherwise given their stubbornness.

Directing my attention to the elite guards, I simply said, "Let’s go back and see your queen."

They gave a silent nod and began to lead the way, completely indifferent to the hostile glares from Klein and his men.

My guards hesitated for a moment but followed anyway, knowing they had no other choice. Without the elite guards to guide us, we would never find the exit to this place.

After a short trek, we arrived back at the hall where Queenie awaited our return.

As we entered, she greeted us by saying, "It seems like you were able to claim it in the end."

Looking at her, she remained reclined in a state of utter apathy, as if the entire ordeal bored her.

I couldn't help but wear a strange expression as I recalled everything Insectum had revealed to me.

Queenie seemed to sense my odd thoughts as she looked my way, asking, "What are you looking at me like that for?"

"It’s because of how lazy you are."

The voice didn't belong to me.

It came from a spider that had suddenly crawled into view within the room.

Insectum had made an unexpected appearance.

"What are you doing here?" Queenie's voice was laced with genuine shock.

Her surprise wasn't due to Insectum possessing another host, but rather the fact that the entity was openly conversing with her.

"Why shouldn’t I be here? I’ve already spoken with our guest, so there’s no reason for me to hide myself."

"You’re embarrassing me," Queenie retorted without a second thought.

Insectum replied with a calm tone, "I’m not embarrassing you; you’re embarrassing yourself. If I hadn't been the one to create you, I certainly wouldn't have chosen you as my messenger."

"Enough of that, get out of here."

Despite their roles as a deity and a messenger, their dynamic was far from what I expected.

Both had confirmed that Queenie was Insectum's creation, yet their behavior didn't reflect that of a master and servant.

Queenie lacked any of the reverence a creation usually shows its maker.

She spoke to Insectum like a rebellious teenager snapping at a parent, while Insectum's tone was that of a weary father nagging a difficult child.

They behaved more like family than a god and a divine servant.

As they bickered, a thick, awkward atmosphere settled over the room.

Klein and the royal guards looked utterly baffled, unable to grasp the situation but clearly feeling the social discomfort radiating from the pair.

With a heavy sigh, I stepped in to explain exactly who was currently possessing the spider.

Upon hearing the truth, they stared at me with looks of pure disbelief. I couldn't blame them, but I had no way to sugarcoat the reality of the situation.

Believe me, I wished I could deny this absurdity as well.

Eventually, the two finished their squabble and settled down.

Insectum cleared its throat and said, "I’m sorry for this embarrassing scene. It’s just that no matter what I say to her, she really doesn’t listen to me."

"If you didn’t keep saying it, maybe I would listen."

The two of them couldn't resist taking one final shot at each other.
