Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 1930: She’s dangerous

Ignoring War's instructions, Dorothy instead retreated to take a position behind Lupus.
War seemed indifferent to her defiance, turning their attention back to me. "Proceed as you wish, but stopping us is beyond your capabilities," they declared coldly.
The figure offered no further words, abruptly collapsing into the dark pool of corruption energy gathered beneath its feet.
The disappearance didn't stop there; the entire puddle of corruption energy began to vanish rapidly from the floor.
I made no move to intervene, realizing that pursuing War through such an escape method was impossible for me.
Consequently, every trace of that foul corruption energy evaporated into nothingness.
Despite the silence, I remained stationary, maintaining my ice barrier as a precaution against any lingering traps or secondary strikes.
Given that War had successfully infiltrated the heart of our territory, it was obvious they possessed specialized stealth techniques. Their ability to reach this far suggested they had many other hidden tricks at their disposal.
However, it truly felt as though they had departed.
Looking at the small dragon on my shoulder, I asked, "Zeldir, are you able to establish a safe zone?"
With a brief nod, he tilted his head back and exhaled a torrent of flames toward the ceiling.
These were not destructive fires, but rather flames manifestation from pure divine energy.
Instead of falling back to the ground, the exhaled fire lingered in the air, drifting like a mist. It created a sanctified perimeter saturated with divine energy, the flames hovering as a protective ward.
The resulting safe zone, forged from this divine energy, appeared capable of neutralizing any corruption energy it touched.
Once the perimeter was established, the surrounding space remained still, confirming that no traces of corruption energy were hiding nearby.
Nevertheless, in a situation like this, caution was the better part of valor.
With the safe zone secured, I turned my focus toward Dorothy and Lupus.
While Zeldir was busy, Lupus had likewise erected a protective field in her immediate vicinity.
The borders of their two respective zones seemed to clash where they met. However, because both had granted me passage, I was able to walk through the interface without any resistance.
As I approached, Dorothy stepped forward before I could speak. "I’m sorry," she whispered.
I shook my head gently, patting her hair. "This isn't your fault," I reassured her. "They are the ones who did this to you. The blame lies entirely with them."
It was the truth; they had subjected Dorothy to experiments before she had even drawn her first breath. She couldn't have resisted their influence since she hadn't even existed when the tampering began.
A child cannot be held responsible for the circumstances of their birth.
"Are you injured anywhere?" I inquired, gently turning her around to inspect her for wounds.
Though Dorothy shook her head, my careful examination eventually revealed something suspicious.
"What is this mark?" I muttered.
The brand was faint; I likely would have overlooked it had I not been looking so closely.
Situated on the nape of Dorothy's neck, the mark was well-hidden.
Her long hair had completely obscured it, requiring me to brush the strands aside to see it clearly.
With her hair moved, the mark was fully exposed to my sight.
It appeared as a tiny, unassuming dot at the base of her head.
To a casual observer, it might have looked like a simple black mole, but I was certain its nature was far more sinister.
"I felt a sharp sting on my neck when it showed up," Dorothy admitted. "I didn't think it was important at the time, but..."
I understood she was talking about that black speck.
It was almost certainly a tracking sigil they had branded onto her. This mark, forged from corruption energy, likely acted as a beacon they could follow anywhere.
Reaching out, I placed my hand over the back of Dorothy's neck.
A soft light began to radiate from my palm as my hand rested against her head.
My intention was to circulate my divine energy to cleanse the mark from her skin.
However, the moment I began, Dorothy let out a sharp grunt of pain.
Hearing her distress, I immediately withdrew my hand and ceased the flow of divine energy.
It appeared that the purification process was causing Dorothy more agony than it was affecting the mark itself.
There was no sense in trying to force the issue if it caused her such suffering.
"Stay within this safe zone for the time being," I instructed. "We'll find another way to handle this."
Dorothy nodded in silent agreement, though her expression remained clouded with anxiety.
I found myself at a loss for words, still baffled by how the enemy had managed to breach the castle's defenses so easily.
My only remaining option was to have Max examine her. Perhaps he could find a solution for this brand left by the forces of Destruction.
... "She is far too great a liability to keep among us."
It was inevitable that the delegates of the racial alliance would reach such a conclusion.
The fact that one of the Four Omens had personally intervened to retrieve Dorothy made their concerns valid.
Furthermore, we still lacked a method to remove the mark on her neck.
Max had performed an initial inspection, but he requested more time, claiming he had never encountered such a unique magical signature before.
Because of these factors, Dorothy remained in a state of effective imprisonment.
Given the circumstances, the racial alliance's hostile stance toward her was only to be expected.
