Reincarnated with the Mind Control Powers in Another World. Chapter 1136 --1136
Previously on Reincarnated with the Mind Control Powers in Another World....
Atop the summit of the Main Mage Tower within the Morguen Kingdom...
Preparations for the Ring of Death are underway as a crowd of students ascends to the peak.
While it wasn't rare for a student to challenge an instructor to a lethal duel, such events usually went ignored; however, this occasion was unique...
Word spread through the tower like wildfire: a Professor and 5-Star Mage had challenged a mere student to a Death Duel.
The news sparked such intense curiosity and excitement that even the other faculty members abandoned their lectures, heading to the roof to observe the confrontation.
"Greetings, Mages... Today, after many tedious years, something truly fascinating has occurred within these walls.
You've frequently witnessed students challenging their superiors, but today marks a reversal. A young man has been called out to a death duel by a teacher.
My expectations for this bout aren't particularly high, yet every struggle offers a chance for amusement. Thus, I shall serve as your host for this duel. I am Orphia, your Headmaster," Orphia declared to the gathering before exiting the ring to take a seat nearby.
"Our first participant is Professor Alvin... a 5-Star Mage, albeit a foolish one, who will certainly be expelled from this tower the moment he concludes this match," Orphia announced, gesturing toward the Northeast entrance of the arena.
"That woman... I knew she’d pull something outrageous," Alvin muttered, his face contorted with irritation.
"At least she isn't executing you on the spot; you'll still walk away with your life. Here, take your wand," his companion remarked, passing the tool to Alvin.
"I’m going to annihilate that little rat..." Alvin growled, stepping through the gate and making his way toward the center of the ring.
"Now... on the opposing side, we have a newcomer possessing an incredible wealth of knowledge. This individual might have become a legendary Demonic Mage had he learned to hold his tongue. Alas... please welcome Mr. Samuel, a 1-Star Mage," Orphia announced with a smirk. Anon emerged from the Northwest gate, completely unarmed save for a cigar held between his fingers.
"What is this? Where is your wand, boy?" Orphia inquired, her expression clouded with bafflement as she stared at Anon.
"Hmm...? Is one required?" Anon replied, looking back at Orphia with a look of feigned confusion.
"Do you not intend to cast magic?" Orphia questioned.
"I do," Anon answered simply.
"Then you'll certainly need one of these," Orphia said, summoning a magic wand and tossing it toward him.
"Take this," she commanded.
Anon examined the wooden tool for a brief moment before promptly throwing it back to her.
"This thing is far too flimsy to handle my magic..." Anon stated.
"Excuse me?" Orphia asked, her confusion deepening.
"Worry not, I brought my own catalyst," Anon said, instantly manifesting a single-edged katana from his inventory.
"What kind of ridiculous wand is that? It isn't even a proper sword, and you're supposed to be a mage... How do you expect to use a blade?" Orphia demanded.
"Just observe," Anon countered, stepping into the ring.
*Step-step-step-step-step*
"Kid... had you only spoken to me with respect, I might have spared you... Now, I’m going to remove you from this world entirely," Alvin sneered, leveling his wand at his opponent.
"If you say so..." Anon muttered, lifting the Katana. He gripped the scabbard with one hand and the handle with the other.
"Hey, what sort of wand is that supposed to be?"
"Why does it have a curve?"
"Is that some kind of custom-made focus?"
...The crowd buzzed with questions until the moment Anon drew the blade from its sheath.
*Chk*
The instant the steel was bared, the blade emitted a piercing radiance.
"That’s a sword..."
"What!?"
"Does he really intend to face a mage using a sword?"
"A melee fighter against a Mage with long-range spells... now I’m genuinely entertained," Orphia remarked, rising from her chair.
"Well, as you can see... Mr. Samuel has opted for a highly unorthodox weapon for this encounter. A single-edged blade against his rival. His winning prospects have just plummeted by 99%...
Therefore, let the duel commence... 3... 2... 1... FIGHT!" Orphia shouted, quickly retreating from the ring's edge.
"Since you’re wielding such a pointless tool... I’ll grant you the opening move, boy. I’ll show you the proper way to utilize a defensive spell in a real fight," Alvin boasted, grinning at Anon.
"I’d be delighted to accept that offer..." Anon replied, a dark smirk stretching across his features.
'There was a specific skill I’ve been eyeing in the shop, but I lacked the points; it was priced at a million, and my leveling has slowed down lately.
However, that Mother of Gods... she made everything in the shop free, and now it's mine.' Anon thought, instantly triggering his first ability.
[Scholar’s Will]
[Note: You have tapped into the Mana reserves... The following spell cast will consume zero mana.]
The moment the notification manifested before his eyes, Anon activated another technique.
[DEMONIC SWORD FINAL FORM: LAST MOONRISE]
"What!?" Orphia’s eyes bulged with terror the moment she sensed the colossal surge of mana within Anon’s frame.
As the skill was unleashed, the world plunged into darkness... day was instantly swallowed by night.
"W-What’s happening?"
"H-Hey, look... i-is that a—" a student stammered, pointing toward the heavens.
The spectators bolted upright, witnessing a massive, blood-crimson moon ascending over the horizon directly behind Anon.
"Let’s end thi—" Before Anon could finish his thought, a sensation hit him—
*Crack*
His arm twisted violently around the blade, every bone within it shattering instantly.
"W-What the hell is... GOING ON?" Alvin screamed, his wand slipping from his trembling fingers.
'This vessel is too fragile; I need to finish this immediately,' Anon thought, his expression remaining cold as he gripped his sword. But before he could strike, his mana began to fluctuate wildly.
Suddenly, a vision of his soul sea flashed in his mind, showing the crystal gifted by Averis growing even darker.
"W-What in the—!?" Anon gasped as he felt his mana control slip away entirely. All the ambient mana in the vicinity began violently spiraling into his blade.
The atmospheric pressure from the Domain intensified to such a degree that no one atop the tower could remain standing. Everyone collapsed to their knees, save for Orphia and a few other instructors who leaped into the ring, encasing Anon.
"STOP IT, KID! YOU’RE GOING TO LEVEL THE ENTIRE TOWER!" Orphia bellowed, manifesting a defensive barrier around Anon.
The other teachers scrambled to cast protection spells over the terrified students.
"He’s going to detonate... the mana absorption in his body has spiraled out of control. A body this weak cannot possibly refine this much power.
His arms are already ruined... we have to evacuate the students now!" another professor shouted, looking toward Orphia.
"BOY... CAN YOU CEASE THIS? IF YOU CANNOT, I WILL BE FORCED TO KILL YOU!" Orphia screamed, summoning her massive staff and aiming it at Anon.
'This isn't right... that damned crystal is forcing all this raw mana into this brittle body... He’s going to blow... I have to act.' Anon thought, desperately activating another skill.
<Hell Heal—
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
In a flash, a cataclysmic explosion erupted at the peak of the mage tower. It sent shockwaves through the entirety of the Morguen Kingdom, spider-webbing the tower with massive fissures as a pillar of pure shadow pierced the clouds.
Within the Royal Palace...
"Hmm...? What was that disturbance?" the King inquired, his brow furrowed in confusion.
