MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 1005: Quantum Manipulation Versus Omniedit
Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
Aura Nova stayed quiet for a brief instant. The very next second, her severed hands grew back perfectly, with flesh and bone knitting together without any seams, but she remained motionless. She had already grasped the harsh truth ahead of her—any kind of close-range fighting against Anthony was utterly hopeless.
Her sword skills? Though she wouldn't easily confess it out loud, she no longer felt sure she could harm Anthony using them. After all, Anthony excelled in raw swordplay. His command of Sword Intent by itself was crushing, polished to a degree that verged on absolute rule. Plus, it was very probable that his own self-made sword arts were far from ordinary.
That gave her just one real choice left, her inborn power; Omniedit.
"Are you finished so soon?" Anthony questioned lightly. His voice held a playful note; he wasn't belittling her. He was simply poking fun at her, much like one would with a trusted companion. "If that's the case, then bring out your Omniedit. I'm eager to see if your innate ability or my unique power comes out stronger," he continued, that same relaxed grin lingering on his mouth.
The special power he mentioned was Quantum Manipulation.
He had last deployed that ability in his clash with a band of Angels, where he turned them into demons through complete mastery of their biological forms.
Moving forward from here, it would pit Omniedit against Quantum Manipulation.
Aura Nova gave no verbal answer. She had never been one for chatter when her survival hung in the balance. She didn't bother asking which unique power Anthony referred to; learning it beforehand wouldn't shift the result. She could question him once the fight ended.
Uttering not a single extra syllable, her mana burst forth from her mana core like a colossal tidal surge ready to obliterate a full solar system from the stars' atlas. It didn't simply flow out; it thundered ahead with devastating purpose.
Anthony only let out a gentle whistle at the sight, observing with keen curiosity while holding back his own mana release.
As soon as the order passed her lips, a massive volume of mana blasted from Aura Nova’s frame. The atmosphere quaked fiercely, as if it might splinter apart. Temperature spiked at a skyrocketing pace. The formerly serene blue heavens shifted to a raging scarlet. Even space started to turn fluid.
Next, a massive wave of devouring blasts ripped out with boundless power. The energy in that outburst could incinerate stars and rip planets apart like flimsy paper.
The whole isolated dimension appeared ready to crumple in on itself. Space, atmosphere, noise, breeze, forests, peaks—everything burst into dazzling bursts of light. Existence howled beneath the strain of the twist.
Anthony smirked, sliding his katana back into its sheath with fluid grace as his mana surged from his core. His mouth opened, and his words rang out steadily over the crumbling realm.
The second the order was voiced, his mana flooded out with wild force, seeping straight into the weave of existence.
At once, Aura Nova’s doomsday strike stopped dead, curling back on itself before crumbling away. Then it disappeared completely, as if it had never been there.
The sweltering heat faded. The scarlet skies returned to normal. The ruinous havoc rewound and vanished. It wasn't stopped. It wasn't nullified. It was undone.
Anthony had nullified her Solar Eruption with total simplicity.
Yet Aura Nova wasn't done yet.
A subtle grin touched her mouth. If there was anything she loved, it was pushing Omniedit to its absolute limits.
Her mana throbbed once more, but now it plunged downward. It shot out from under her feet and crashed hard into the ground, digging in as if hunting the seismic roots of the isolated dimension, assuming they were there at all.
In the following moment, eruptions of volcanoes stretching millions of megameters ignited all at once. The power was suffocating, destructive. Streams of molten rock gushed up in enormous columns.
Spotting the lava set to swallow him, Anthony vaulted skyward. But as he rose, the overhead sky cracked wide. A huge rift split the firmament, exposing the summits of countless volcanoes hanging in the air. Through that gap, seas of magma cascaded down, fiery flows that could dissolve reality.
Anthony grinned; his form turned into a streak as he dodged smoothly amid the falling blaze, gliding like he was savoring a waltz instead of fleeing doom.
Mana surged from his core again, wrapping around him like loyal offspring yielding to their maker. An mysterious violet force gathered in his hand. Its size grew rapidly with each tiny moment.
Then he launched it without holding back.
It felt like a gigantic gun had fired. The shot ripped through the void and broke sonic walls like cheap panes. It hurtled at Aura Nova with planet-shattering might.
Her mana churned fiercely once more, but her clear blue gaze stayed fixed on the approaching force.
In that instant, the area near her flipped like whirling bits of glass. Pieces of spatial weave gathered in front of her, building into an unbreakable reflective shield. As the last bit of space locked in, Anthony’s Energy Blast smashed into it with a frenzied boom.
The nearby space shook hard, on the brink of folding from the unknown pressure. A fissure appeared on the shield, but Aura Nova funneled extra mana into it right away, shoring it up. Then, the force faded as the strike ended.
With no delay, Aura Nova waved her hand forward idly. The Spatial Wall Frame charged on like a massive moving bastion. Anthony just sneered; he thrust his fist out easily, like swatting at junk. That one blow made the whole Spatial Wall Frame fall apart.
Not due to frailty, but since all its held power had been used up blocking his Energy Blast. What she aimed at him was merely an empty remnant of its prior might.
Anthony flowed right into his following assault, keeping up the drive without pause.
Space and mana quivered together. The area around Anthony’s fist split, exposing the emptiness past being. The emptiness leaked out, twisting along his limb. A huge, whirling funnel took shape, a devouring gravity point that gulped down breeze, illumination, and noise.
With a smile, Anthony bounded ahead and struck. The Black Hole rushed forward like a rotating orb of destruction. In its wake, being was wiped clean completely.
Her mana charged ahead with end-of-days fury and smashed straight into the oncoming Black Hole.
Existence twisted wildly, and then the Black Hole broke into countless tiny, glowing azure butterflies. They drifted up to the heavens, innocent and nearly lovely.
Aura Nova skipped savoring her handiwork; she shifted straight to her next order.
Existence flickered near her shape, and from her frame, duplicates burst out in the hundreds. They encircled Anthony fully. Every duplicate had the same vibe, same energy, same mana trace, as if each was the true one.
They all declared together, their tones blending into one powerful harmony. Their mana detonated at the same time. Right then, shining light lashes appeared in their grips. They whipped out, coiling around Anthony’s whole form—his sight, skull, limbs, torso, midsection, binding him from top to bottom. Restraining force flowed through the lashes, trying to lock him down for good.
But it proved pointless.
As the order rang out, every bit of matter in the isolated dimension seemed to halt, then burst. A torrent of ruin and being-erasure cascaded forth. Aura Nova’s duplicates blew apart from within, defenseless. Their bodies dissolved in a flash.
The restraining lashes fell into oblivion.
The actual Aura Nova got flung back hard by the blast of Particle Disruption. Her own strikes turned to nothing, while Anthony remained unharmed right at the heart, Untouched.
Her form spun in flight as she steadied, floating far up high.
Anthony raised his eyes to the sky.
Their stares connected.
Fight fervor swelled between them again, hitting its utmost height as they gazed across the broken stretch of the isolated dimension.
The real showdown was only starting.
