Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2390 199: Six Paths_2

Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
Wisdom None Arhat emerged from the Realm Sea vortex into the grand Buddhist temple, leading a stream of soulless cultivators, while a concealed green-robed figure observed unnoticed amid the statues of Arhats and Bodhisattvas. He reported his arduous journey through the Sea of Chaos Realm, revealing a hidden fourth domain called Little Cang World and his secret measures to thwart its unification. Though praised for his merits, Wisdom None and the cultivators were suddenly ensnared by a golden net from the Arhats, as Wisdom Void Bodhisattva invoked suspicions of deception akin to the prior incident with Pu Yuan, tightening the weave in precautionary scrutiny.

"Exactly, the divine sight of Wisdom None pierces through all illusions, making it tough to fool him in ordinary situations, so everything ought to be fine."

Wisdom None noticed the golden net staying steady as before, and he quickly remarked:

"Wisdom Void Bodhisattva, does it appear that all is well at this point?"

Hearing those words, Wisdom Void Bodhisattva lightly creased his forehead, then responded in a gentle tone:

"We'll hold on just a bit longer."

All of a sudden, gleaming golden strands emerged across the golden net, and a nearer look revealed they were enigmatic golden symbols, which swiftly streamed into the mouths and noses of Wisdom None and the cultivators...

In the meantime, a green-robed figure lingered next to Wisdom Void Bodhisattva, eyeing the golden net he held with keen interest.

Drawing on his grasp of Buddhist principles, he tried to unravel its secrets, yet it proved quite challenging, allowing him only a faint sense that it could be an altered form of the four major Buddhist shifts.

Still, when set against the principles he had mastered and the baffling ones at the Immortal Pass, he picked up a few new understandings.

"It must be a specialized rule transformation for detecting hidden things, a true Buddhist divine ability, truly impressive."

The green-robed figure gave a soft nod of mild admiration, casting his gaze around the area without rushing to depart.

He perceived that the hall's doorways were guarded by unique barriers, and slipping away on his own could instantly rouse every monk within and beyond.

From the setup inside, it was clear that his previous act of beheading Pu Yuan and snatching those 'walkers' had sparked doubts among the monks, possibly with traps set for him outdoors.

Therefore, staying put and observing the unfolding events seemed wiser, maybe yielding some surprising rewards.

Right then, Wisdom Void Bodhisattva wrapped up his check on Wisdom None and the group of cultivators.

The golden net enveloping Wisdom None and the cultivators abruptly shrank back, returning to Wisdom Void Bodhisattva's grasp.

A warm, friendly grin spread over Wisdom Void Bodhisattva's features as he said kindly:

"Wisdom None Arhat, I must apologize for the intrusion earlier; I hope you won't hold it against me."

Although fury simmered within Wisdom None, he wouldn't dare challenge the favored Bodhisattva close to the Western Great Bodhisattva, particularly without the power to back it up, so he managed a strained smile:

"The Bodhisattva was merely fulfilling his duty to the fullest; how could there be any offense?"

The mood appeared to ease into friendliness.

Wisdom Void Bodhisattva paid no mind to his true feelings, satisfied with the outward calm, and after a moment's reflection, he continued:

"Well, there's another matter to address, and it's lucky that all you Arhats without enough slots are here. These eight hundred walkers can be chosen now, and I'll escort them myself shortly to the Reincarnation Six Paths, where the Six Paths Water will purify their impurities."

Wisdom None offered no resistance to this, yet a thought struck him right away, and he gestured toward a handful of people in the gathering before speaking:

"I'm actually low on some walker slots too; picking just these ones would do the trick for me."

Wisdom Void and the other three Bodhisattvas, together with the Arhats, turned their attention to those figures, their gazes brightening a touch.

A Bodhisattva to the left promptly waved his head and declared:

"Choosing walkers isn't done lightly, but Wisdom None, your efforts have been notable, so we'll give them top consideration for you."

Wisdom None didn't dwell on it and simply agreed with a nod.

Wisdom Void Bodhisattva proceeded to allot the cultivators among the various Arhats.

But when the moment arrived to handle those picked by Wisdom None, a dispute broke out.

"This individual possesses a profound connection to Buddhism; he belongs to the Western Great Bodhisattva."

Wisdom Void Bodhisattva indicated the youth in purple armor, stating it firmly without doubt.

Wisdom None's face shifted subtly, rage boiling inwardly, though he kept his tone subdued in trying to counter:

"Wisdom Void Bodhisattva, this was among the select few I'd already chosen..."

Wisdom Void Bodhisattva answered steadily:

"Did Wisdom None Arhat miss what I said moments ago? This one has a strong Buddhist bond, clearly from a promising lineage, and could rise to prominence later on; placing him under the Western Great Bodhisattva's guidance might even produce another Great Bodhisattva to bolster Buddhism... Surely Wisdom None Arhat doesn't oppose the growth of Buddhism's sacred flames?"

"Yet for these walkers, I plan to cultivate them carefully as well..."

Wisdom None tried to press further.

However, Wisdom Void Bodhisattva had already decided with composure:

"We'll go with that... Afterward, Wisdom None Arhat may choose two more walkers."

With that, he parceled out the leftover cultivators to the other Arhats.

The Arhats showed faces full of delight.

These walkers carried heavy burdens of sin, and converting each one earned vast merit.

If guided rightly and they accomplished anything down the line, it would yield endless merit, greatly aiding their own cultivation progress.

Just Wisdom None wore a sour look.

All the walkers he had eyed were snatched by the rest.

His top choice, 'Qian Baimao', had been kept back by Wisdom Void Bodhisattva in the name of the Western Great Bodhisattva.

He had no way to push back.

For the Great Bodhisattva supporting him had faced repeated setbacks in front of the Buddha Lord, causing his standing to plummet sharply and eroding his own boldness considerably.

So with a grim expression, he took charge of the cultivators and headed for the Reincarnation Six Paths.

The green-robed figure near Wisdom Void Bodhisattva, taking in this spectacle, silently slipped into the sleeve of a cultivator.

They moved along with Wisdom None Arhat beyond the exit barrier, feeling out the environment through the jostling motion.

As before from the prior visit, they quickly passed through a direct corridor, reaching the spot of the 'Six Paths Pond Water'.

He slipped out from the sleeve.

On this occasion, the green-robed figure intently studied the pond water.

The shadowy pool looked like a dark lotus seed, filled with strange chuckles and sobs resounding inside.

But at present, to his view, these were nothing more than surface illusions.
