Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2374 - 193: Soul Search (2)

Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
Wang Ba delved into the consciousness of an Arhat monk within the realm, his crimson Yin God Power clashing against the monk's resisting golden Buddhist light. The monk's vast Sea of Consciousness split into crimson and golden halves, guarded by mysterious gold patterns that Wang Ba recognized as tools of control by the Supreme True Buddha. As he deployed the Soul Search Technique, golden chains emerged to block his probe, cracking the space and tormenting the monk's manifested form, forcing Wang Ba to withdraw to avoid total destruction. Undeterred, he pressed on with combined forces, briefly piercing the defenses to glimpse fragments of the monk's memories—echoes of perseverance in cultivation, familial vows, defiance against invading monks, and profound Buddhist insights.

Wang Ba positioned himself in front of the monk, gradually drawing back his hand, a faint crease forming between his eyebrows.

Combining the Yin God Power with the Soul Searching Technique merely extracted a tiny portion of details from this monk.

A large part of it featured indelible moments from the monk’s recollections, like his initial Cultivation steps, talks with his father, and hitting the peak of his Domain.

Very few bits touched on the Supreme True Buddha.

Even the appearance of the Tianshang Buddha or his key strengths stayed hidden.

Much of the exposed material matched what he had already uncovered.

Yet, he picked up fresh details, including the Supreme True Buddha possessing three major Dharma realms.

Apart from the Seated Buddha battling the Cloud Sky Realm and the Reclining Buddha watching the Sea of Chaos Realm’s outlet, a Standing Buddha existed too.

These three Buddhas embodied the three major Dharma realms, each overseen by a Great Bodhisattva.

That Standing Buddha, however, lingered in a far-off location and hadn’t shown up yet.

Beyond that, nothing more surfaced.

"Could it be due to the somewhat lowly rank?"

A pensive look flickered in Wang Ba’s gaze.

Arhats match the level of Rob Cultivators, so their standing isn’t trivial, but when it comes to the inner mysteries of the Supreme True Buddha, they evidently grasp just surface-level knowledge.

This offers scant aid to Wang Ba’s quest for deeper insights into the Supreme True Buddha.

The sole surprise turned out to be an unfinished Buddhist doctrine pulled from this monk.

It bore the name "Great Blissful Heart Sutra."

Still, the material was far from whole, and it appeared suited to a basic stage of Cultivation.

"This is just like ’aiming to grow flowers yet they wither, casually planting willows that flourish without effort.’

Wang Ba pondered briefly, then moved once more, deploying the Yin God Power alongside the Soul Searching Technique anew, making the monk before him twist in agony again.

Yet this enigmatic golden pattern proved oddly resilient, apparently wise from the last attempt, so even though Wang Ba triumphed this round, the duration of the monk’s submission to the Yin God Power shrank noticeably.

As a result, the disclosed content dwindled sharply.

Details on the Supreme True Buddha stayed thin, though a bit more emerged about the "Great Blissful Heart Sutra," plus mention of yet another partial Buddhist Divine Skill called ’Divine Footwork’ method.

This Divine Footwork stood apart from the ’Divine Footwork’ Wang Ba had faced in the Little Cang World, since it drew on rules unlike the standard Cultivation ones known to Cultivators, instead blending the six: earth, fire, water, wind, space, and consciousness.

In that instant, enlightenment struck Wang Ba!

"I get it!"

"The foundational rules that Cultivators grasp are Yin and Yang plus the Five Elements, forming the ’Dao,’ which signifies ’existence,’ where everything springs from void into endless forms, following ’one begets two, two begets three, three spawns all things’... Yet the rules grasped by the Supreme True Buddha are the ’six great,’ embodying ’emptiness,’ ’non-existence,’ known as ’suffering, origination, cessation, path,’ and ’all forms are emptiness!’"

"They’re utterly distinct at their core!"

That explained why he couldn’t fathom the ’causality’ rule when first encountering the Wisdom Magic Arhat.

Though Cultivators accept causality, relying on Heavenly Dao’s judgment and karma, their grasped rules skip any nod to causality.

For Heaven and Earth show no favoritism, viewing all as mere dogs of straw, fair and detached, driven solely by the endless cycle of rules, with the Dao unchanging.

On the flip side, in Buddhism, since everything is emptiness, the Dharma realms built on the four greats all stem from ’consciousness’ creations, born of the human psyche, allowing causality to take shape.

"I was spot on from the start—these represent two utterly separate Cultivation paths."

"The divide runs so deep, surpassing even the chasm between the Dao of True Martial and ordinary Cultivators."

"What if I... mastered this ’six great rules’ of the Supreme True Buddha—could I then decode the cryptic golden patterns marking these monks?"

A subtle gleam lit Wang Ba’s eyes.

He sensed dimly that these cryptic golden patterns likely tied into the ’six great rules’ as well.

From there, his thoughts expanded further.

"Immortal Pass!"

"Those baffling rules on the Immortal Pass that eluded me—might they derive from the six great rules too?"

"Grasping the six great rules—could that shatter the Immortal Pass?"

"And... Tibo’s Six Candle Stick of Tongyou, aligning exactly with the six: earth, fire, water, wind, space, and consciousness—does that hold hidden meaning?"

"But if Tibo truly was the Supreme True Buddha, why do none of his Six Candle Stick of Tongyou pieces rest with the Supreme True Buddha’s followers?"

The earth, fire, water, and wind all reside inside the Sea of Chaos Realm.

Meanwhile, space and consciousness dwell separately in the Eastern Luli Buddha Realm and the Canlong Realm.

The forces thought to stem from Tibo as the Supreme True Buddha lack even one Treasure Staff.

"Coincidence, or something more..."

Wang Ba’s thoughts raced, weaving deeper and broader speculations.

Quickly, though, he shoved aside these stray ideas.

Those could wait; squeezing every last drop of use from these monks demanded focus now.

Right then, he unleashed the Yin God Power and Soul Searching Technique a third time, then fourth, fifth...

From this Arhat ahead, the gleaned info grew less in volume and clarity with each try, until at last, the Yin God Power failed to hold sway, prompting him to withdraw from the Sea of Consciousness and free the remaining monks.

Not one of the ten Arhats escaped his probe, and next came the Bodhisattvas...

Save for Wisdom Truth Bodhisattva, whose mighty Primordial Spirit resisted the limited Yin God Power’s reach, Wang Ba scoured every other monk, Bodhisattvas included, down to the core.
