Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2328 - 176: Peerless_3

Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
As the realm membrane tore open in the Sky Dome, invaders from the Supreme True Buddha poured into the Cloud Sky Realm, their eyes gleaming with greed for its endless karma and merits, commanded to dismantle the great arrays under the guise of mercy. Amid the encroaching heavenly disaster, Wang Ba, the green-robed True Man Taiyi, approached the breach with serene calm, unleashing a monstrous wind that scattered the lesser monks like chaff, leaving only a handful of Bodhisattvas to face him. One Bodhisattva, struck by his palm, shed its golden facade to reveal a raging demon beneath, confirming suspicions of hidden demonic essence masquerading as Buddhist piety.

This obviously wasn't the typical behavior of a true Demon Head.

Those monks from the Supreme True Buddha, originating as humans and draped in Buddhist robes, harbored demonic essences deep inside, no different from authentic Demon Heads. For such an individual to show up even once in the Realm Sea marked a rare fiend, but in the Supreme True Buddha, nearly everyone he met turned out this way.

"Why exactly is this?"

His mind swirled with confusion.

The Bodhisattva, shifting from Buddha to demon while gripping the Dao Treasure, at last sliced open a route through the yellow wind, displaying might far surpassing its Buddha state.

Buddhas hold mercy and piety, but demons follow their desires freely, so upon casting off the Buddha's mask, the hidden demon surged with greater power.

Down inside the light shield, the skinny elder caught sight of this and right away remembered his old battles, where he battled fiercely until nearly drained, using all sorts of tricks to slay that Bodhisattva, just for the foe to unveil its demon form and plunge him into peril with a single strike.

Without the sudden arrival of those two Mahayana experts from the Silkworm Dragon Realm and Void Demon Realm drawing away that Demon Buddha, he would've perished right there in the past.

At that realization, he yelled out in haste:

"Wang Ba, be careful!"

Up on the Sky Dome, as though catching the skinny elder's warning, Wang Ba swiftly regained focus, his heart turning a bit cold, extending a palm to the side and smashing the Buddha-to-demon Bodhisattva in an instant, its head bursting apart, Demonic Qi dispersing wildly, but it acted unconcerned, merely turning its eyes to sweep the surroundings without spotting any other monks, leaving him somewhat baffled:

"Careful?"

"Careful of what?"

Down below, the skinny elder watching this, gaped in shock, the warning on his tongue halting abruptly, finally choking it back.

What sort of heavenly figure is this!

The Wanxiang Sect Patriarch's tomb would be belching green smoke!

No, I am the Wanxiang Sect Patriarch...

The skinny elder pulling himself together, instinctively glanced at the worn-out young man in russet robes nearby, who was also staring up at the Sky Dome, when his heart ought to fret over the youth's wounds right now, yet a peculiar relief washed over him instead.

"I just said Wanxiang Sect disciples in Little Cang World are not inferior to anyone!"

He couldn't resist recalling that usually aloof master.

"If the teacher learned that Wanxiang Sect had birthed such a remarkable cultivator, he would definitely be stunned, wouldn't he?"

"No way, if he finds out it hails straight from Wanxiang Sect in Little Cang World, his eyes would bulge right out!"

The skinny elder harbored a touch of eagerness, even if it felt a bit irreverent toward the teacher, remembering how the other had rejected his plan to save Wanxiang Sect in Little Cang World, a strange joy bubbled up unbidden.

"It’s a pity the teacher isn’t here."

His heart brimmed with sorrow.

Right as these ideas surfaced in his thoughts, up on the Sky Dome at the Realm Membrane's gateway, Wang Ba grew bored with the fight, lifting his hand in quick succession to unleash a barrage of palms.

They looked plain enough, but brimmed with Dao Domain and laws, every blow carrying Wang Ba's utmost power aside from Beast Control and Dao Treasure.

Only the fast pounding noises rang out.

Though the three Bodhisattvas strained to wield their Dao Treasures for defense, Wang Ba still pinpointed a weakness effortlessly, shattering their Dao Treasure barriers in a flash and flinging them out.

Their Golden Bodies crumbled completely, Demonic Qi not even emerging before he overpowered them, sealing and binding them with Divine Patterns just like the others, then tucking them into his sleeve.

Afterward, he marched ahead, positioning himself right at the Realm Membrane's entrance.

Beyond it, golden radiance blazed like broad daylight, countless shapes pouring in relentlessly from afar!

In that throng of shapes, Bodhisattvas and Arhats abounded, outnumbering the earlier group that breached the realm, each glowing with Buddhist Light like swirling orbs, enough to daze the eyes.

Wang Ba stayed composed, holding his ground solo at the Realm Membrane's entrance.

His eyes skipped past the oncoming monks, peering into emptiness, gauging the range, which calmed his spirit a fraction.

At the same time, those charging light orbs came to a sudden stop just shy of the entrance!

The glows dimmed, revealing monks stepping forth one by one, all staring ahead with dread.

They exchanged glances, then one intoned gravely:

"Even though he’s unmatched in Bodhisattva Realm, if we join forces, he surely isn’t..."

Mid-sentence, that monk noticed Wang Ba's look flicking toward him, jolting his core, and he clamped his mouth shut.

Wang Ba simply let out a soft laugh and pulled back inside the realm.

Witnessing that, every monk froze in place.

The one who'd gone quiet before now perked up with energy, blurting out:

"He surely is afraid!"

"Let’s go quickly to capture him!"

His words ignited their resolve, spurring an Arhat serving under a Bodhisattva to step warily into the realm.

But he froze midway.

The green-robed Taoist lingered close by on the Sky Dome, arms at his sides, observing their approach without attacking, instead chuckling idly:

"What are you waiting for, everyone?"

The Arhats halted in confusion, then scattered swiftly, assembling into an array at once.

Moments later, at the entrance, five Bodhisattvas and a horde of incoming Arhat followers crammed through, spotting Wang Ba and tightening up without delay, the five Bodhisattvas hoisting their Dao Treasures at once to unleash Buddhist Law.

Beyond the entrance, even more monks raced forward!

Facing such a swarm of monk silhouettes, Wang Ba himself had to express awe.

"The Supreme True Buddha, truly substantial in enterprise!"

And the Wanxiang Sect cultivators below in the light shield, beholding this, felt their hearts clench even as they stayed mute, eyes glued to the Sky Dome, catching every instant.

The skinny elder held his tongue now, though worry gnawed at him still, trusting that Wang Ba would mostly escape harm, his sole fret being the nonstop influx of monks, which would wear Wang Ba down eventually...

Pondering that, his gaze sharpened.

All of a sudden, he spotted a being darting from Wang Ba’s sleeve, with a human face and serpentine body—Fang Yi burst forth, eyes crimson and closed tight!

In that blink, the skinny elder sensed pitch blackness crashing down before him!

It resembled a pitch-black void, endless night devouring every view, every feeling, every noise...

"What’s happening!?"

The skinny elder, startled and baffled, realized his own cry had gone silent in that instant.

This uncommon void of awareness sparked a sliver of unease in his chest.

Just a few breaths elapsed, but it dragged on like eons.

Then the heavens flared bright once more.

The skinny elder rushed to check the Sky Dome.

There, white clouds swirled and faded over and over on the Sky Dome.

But the monk horde from before had vanished without trace, leaving only a green-robed figure at the Sky Dome's fractured area, gazing outward and calling out:

"Unknown if any more High Monks and Virtuous still enter? Sweeping and welcoming from me."

The cultivators couldn't glimpse the outer view, only noting the sudden hush from beyond.

Gazing at that figure, plain as it seemed, hope bloomed uncontrollably in every heart.

Perhaps... this catastrophe wasn't quite the invincible force they'd feared?
