Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2321 - 174: The Truth (Part 3)

Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
Wang Ba confronted the enraged Wisdom Truth Bodhisattva in the breached realm, swiftly countering its assault with forbidden ink characters from his brush and precise strikes from his Taoist Sword, severing its arms and heads before suppressing and capturing the incomplete golden body. Escaping the pursuing Bodhisattvas and Arhats, he returned to the Taoist Field, reporting success to the boy in purple robes amid the ongoing battle. As the fiery-robed Southern Great Bodhisattva entered the realm to rally the monks, luring them deeper, unease grew among the cultivators watching the retreating supports, with Sect Leader Bai vaguely assuring that True Man Gai and others would emerge soon, heightening Wang Ba's suspicions.

"True Man Taiyi, our Wanxiang Sect still has numerous disciples inside the realm..."

Wang Ba hesitated briefly, his eyes quickly shifting to a nearby water screen, his face instantly growing grim.

In that water screen, shadows of cultivators could be spotted dashing toward a massive mountain chain.

Dimly discernible amid those peaks stood two sect plaques.

'Wanxiang Sect', 'Longevity Sect'!

Wang Ba swung his head to face the assembly, spotting Lan He, Wanxiang Sect's leader, staring at him with worry, his eyes brimming with desperate appeal.

Wang Ba's eyes narrowed a bit, his mind racing through thoughts, before he sent a mental message to the youth in purple robes.

After learning of Wang Ba's plan to save Wanxiang Sect, the purple-robed youth displayed a touch of sorrow and replied via transmission:

"I figured you meant this place, with the festivities underway, most of them ought to be present... If you want to head there, then do it, but have you kept in mind my earlier words?"

His tone halted for an instant, his stare fixed intently on Wang Ba:

"Should trouble arise, don't delay or stay a single second longer."

Noting the gravity in the man's gaze and words, Wang Ba felt his spirits drop, and in that instant, a sudden insight struck—he at last grasped what he'd missed before.

He found himself glancing at the purple-robed youth, sending back a grave transmission:

"True Man Gai... they aren't actually in the Cloud Sky Realm?!"

The purple-robed youth's figure paused momentarily, a flicker of astonishment crossing his eyes, then he gave a faint head shake, avoiding confirmation or denial, merely whispering through transmission:

"Depart now, and don't forget my warning."

Next, he declared aloud:

"Taoist Friend Taiyi, head straight to that position and eliminate the danger!"

His hand lifted, gesturing toward the water screen displaying Wanxiang Sect in clear view.

Sensing the weight and goodwill from the purple-robed youth, Wang Ba stood quiet for a beat.

He'd once wondered what danger surpassed the Supreme True Buddha's siege on the Cloud Sky Realm, but now the truth dawned on him.

It was this... those three Mahayanas weren't even located in the Cloud Sky Realm!

At his side, Lan He's tone turned more urgent by the second; on the water screen, the ocher-robed Qitian Patriarch and various other experts rapidly emerged from the peaks housing Wanxiang Sect, Longevity Sect, and Youxian Temple.

His chest heavy, he scanned the gathered experts around him before answering with utmost seriousness:

"Understood."

At those words, his form blurred into motion.

The purple-robed youth observed Wang Ba's vanishing shape, his eyes glinting faintly as he softly shook his head:

"Heavenly Monarch, your care for him runs deep..."

Shifting his attention away, his sight returned to the water screen ahead, a vague mix of distraction and eagerness hanging in the air:

"Things over there must be kicking off too, right?"

Right then.

Realm Sea.

A colossal golden Reclining Buddha stretched out over the endless emptiness.

Clutched in its grasp was a blooming lotus.

Inside the lotus, serene and calm figures wandered to and fro.

A short distance away in the emptiness, a crisp voice rang out abruptly:

"My thanks to you all; after we storm the Supreme True Buddha's den together, we'll honor our vow to shield your reborn forms, maybe even guiding you to the Second Realm Sea someday!"

The void fell briefly still, then hummed with a chorus of voices overlapping:

"…We trust you keep your word, or else you're aware of what follows."

The crisp voice replied steadily:

"Bokai, heir to the Cloud Sky Sect's leadership, would never mislead you—have no doubts."

"Hmph."

The humming gradually died down.

Fissures began to form slowly in the void.

Out from them strode gigantic human-like beings, their gazes blending fear and murderous resolve as they fixed on the immense Reclining Buddha nearby…
