Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2228: 145: Temporary Farewell (2)
Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
A sudden realization dawned upon the Second Ancestor, Yin Penglai, and the others present after listening to those words.
“Regarding this True Man Taiyi... what should our next move be?”
Yin Penglai could not resist inquiring.
After reflecting for a moment, Yin Tianzhi turned his attention to Yin Penglai and instructed:
“Penglai, you should pay him a visit. Inform him that we currently lack a definite solution. Let him remain in suspense for a while, but do not shut the door completely. Tell him that I am actively searching for a way out, and a favorable turn of events might still occur.”
Yin Penglai was briefly taken aback before grasping the underlying strategy. He nodded swiftly and hurried toward the region where the tributaries flowed.
“Since he was rejected by the core of Zhang’s Ruins, he must be drowning in hopelessness. Offering him a glimmer of salvation through our family is truly the ideal method to secure his loyalty.”
Once Yin Penglai had departed, the Second Ancestor voiced his agreement to Yin Tianzhi.
Yin Tianzhi, however, did not look pleased; his brow remained tightly knit:
“It is far too early for celebration... what news is there from the Spirit Origin Prefecture and the Illusion Sky Realm?”
The Second Ancestor’s expression darkened as he replied:
“Word is that they have descended upon the Wan Family of She Mansion to demand an explanation, though the specifics of their confrontation remain vague.”
Yin Tianzhi’s gaze grew even more solemn upon hearing this report:
“The silence is unsettling. Keep a closer watch on the situation and exert more pressure on both factions... Under no circumstances must the secret of True Man Taiyi be leaked to outsiders.”
“Understood.”
Yin Tianzhi stared into the distance, his eyes clouded with heavy thoughts.
For reasons he couldn't name, a faint thread of anxiety pulled at his heart.
“I appreciate your help, Yin Old Ancestor.”
Standing before the entrance of the immortal cave, Wang Ba saw Yin Penglai to the door.
Yin Penglai lingered for a moment, offering comforting words:
“Taoist Friend, do not let worry consume you. If the Great Ancestor claims there is a path, he surely has the means to back it up. For now, concentrate on your recovery. Once the Great Ancestor settles the matters with the Spirit Origin Prefecture and the Illusion Sky Realm and devises a plan, you will undoubtedly rise and achieve Crossing Tribulation.”
Wang Ba forced a faint, weary smile onto his face:
“I shall trust in your auspicious words, Taoist Brother... On another note, I intend to depart from Zhang’s Ruins shortly...”
“Depart from Zhang’s Ruins?”
Yin Penglai’s face paled slightly with surprise as he asked with urgency:
“Has Yin Fu or the others treated you poorly, Taoist Friend? Or has someone caused you offense?”
Wang Ba waved his hand dismissively:
“Nothing of the sort. It is simply that... I have gained some recent insights and wish to travel to the Realm Sea to test them. I shall return in just a few days.”
Yin Penglai felt a wave of internal relief.
He had feared the man was leaving permanently due to his failure to gain recognition from the Zhang’s Ruins core. Hearing Wang Ba’s explanation, he thought to himself:
“He is likely discouraged by the rejection of the ruins and seeks to clear his mind through travel. Such a reaction is only natural.”
Still, fearing the guest might not return, he spoke with great earnestness:
“Taoist Friend Taiyi, the Great Ancestor possesses immense wisdom. Since he has promised a solution, our Yin Family will spare no expense to assist you in reaching the Crossing Tribulation realm. Please, do not let these minor setbacks disturb your Cultivation mindset.”
Sensing the genuine concern in Yin Penglai’s voice, Wang Ba’s expression softened, and he performed a formal salute:
“My thanks to you, Taoist Brother, and to all the Ancestors!”
Yin Penglai laughed as he reached out to steady Wang Ba:
“There is no need for such formality. If you accept the Great Ancestor’s marriage proposal, I might even have to address you as Ancestor myself, haha!”
Wang Ba couldn't help but chuckle at the remark.
The Great Ancestor’s daughter might be young, but her status in the family hierarchy was terrifyingly high. If he truly married into the family, even the Second Ancestor might technically be his junior in rank.
Of course, this was mere banter, and Wang Ba did not take it to heart.
Yin Penglai continued his counsel:
“Traveling is good for the spirit, but the world outside is in turmoil. The Supreme True Buddha has been plotting for years, and there is no telling when they will strike. Be sure to return quickly to avoid those malicious monks.”
Acknowledging the sincerity of the warning, Wang Ba nodded gravely.
Yin Penglai surveyed the modest immortal cave, his brow furrowing:
“This dwelling is far too meager for someone of your stature. Let me relocate you to a more grand residence.”
Wang Ba quickly declined:
“That is unnecessary. I have grown accustomed to this place; moving now might disrupt my focus.”
Seeing his insistence, Yin Penglai relented but added:
“Before you go, visit Yin Fu to collect some Elixirs and Dao Treasures. It is always wise to be well-prepared for a journey. I will also provide you with detailed maps so you do not lose your way.”
Wang Ba intended to refuse again, but upon hearing that the Yin Family’s maps far surpassed any commercial versions in detail, he accepted.
Following a brief exchange, Yin Penglai took his leave in a hurry.
Wang Ba watched the receding figure with a pensive look. He glanced toward a nearby immortal cave where a small figure was peeking out, then stepped back inside his own dwelling.
The heavy stone door slid shut.
At the entrance of the distant cave, Diao Shaoping ducked back inside, quickly sealing his own door.
The silence of the room was broken only by the frantic thumping of his own heart.
He was still reeling from what he had witnessed:
“The Ninth Ancestor... the Ninth Ancestor actually visited him in person!”
“Mr. Yin’s warning was no joke. I am fortunate I didn't provoke this man further...”
As his pulse slowed, he looked back at his previous petty schemes and found them both ridiculous and trivial.
“Forget it. All these games are meaningless. I must focus entirely on my Cultivation.”
