In an instant, they were transported to a different teleportation array located in a grassy clearing. Stepping onto the verdant field felt like walking on a plush carpet, providing a sense of immense comfort. The crisp, clean air surrounding them was invigorating, leaving the entire group feeling revitalized.
As they inhaled deeply, they noticed a delicate floral scent permeating the atmosphere. The fragrance was incredibly soothing and refreshing. This pleasant environment brought smiles even to the faces of the Sect Master and the gathered Elders.
Zhao Hai turned toward the leaders and said, "Sect Master, Elders, please follow me." He stepped out of the array, and the rest of the group trailed behind him. Looking around, they saw a landscape filled with towering trees, sprawling vines, and a vibrant variety of flowers, grass, and fruit-bearing trees. The scenery was a brilliant tapestry of colors.
"Zhao Hai, is this truly your island?" the Sect Master inquired. "I recall the Sect granting you Blood Gale Island. You even earned the nickname of the island master with the lowest Cultivation in history. Hahaha! However, I have visited Blood Gale Island before, and it looked nothing like this. How did you achieve this transformation?" The Sect Master smiled warmly, his tone filled with genuine curiosity rather than anger.
Zhao Hai replied with a grin, "Yes, Sect Master, this is indeed Blood Gale Island. It was quite different when I first arrived. Eventually, I decided to demolish the existing structures and scattered various seeds across the land. By using a secret technique to stimulate their growth, the island became what you see now. It is merely a small trick to make my surroundings more comfortable; nothing worth bragging about."
The Sect Master laughed heartily at the explanation. "Everyone desires comfort, but you must remember that a Cultivator should not grow too complacent. If the mind becomes soft, your Cultivation progress will suffer and lead to complications." Because the Sect Master found Zhao Hai particularly likable, he offered this sincere piece of advice.
"I hear and obey, Sect Master," Zhao Hai answered. "I will keep your words in mind. Sect Master, Elders, this way." With that, Zhao Hai flew toward the center of the island. They soon reached a grove of massive trees, among which stood several specimens of a brilliant fiery red. Unlike the deep, dark hue of blood, these trees were a vivid, flaming crimson. From a distance, they looked like flickering tongues of fire, creating a stunning visual.
Zhao Hai guided the group to the top of one such crimson tree, which featured a massive hollow in its trunk. Standing by the entrance, he gestured inside. "Sect Master, Elders, please enter." Without a word, the leaders stepped into the tree, with Zhao Hai following last.
The interior left the Sect Master and Elders speechless. The hollow contained a vast chamber inhabited by three metal puppets. These puppets were simple in design; two were quite large, while the third was much smaller. Piles of storage bags sat next to the taller puppets, while a massive cauldron dominated the area in front of the short one.
The cauldron stood about two meters high but was exceptionally wide, resembling a flattened water tank roughly ten meters across. A thick pipe emerged from the top of the tank, leading toward the floor below. The vessel was supported by three short legs, keeping it only about a foot off the ground.
The observers could see the tank was split into two sections. The lower half featured several round openings where a faint flame flickered. The upper section was further divided; one half was connected to the pipe, while the other was sealed. Facing the two tall puppets was an open section where a red glow emanated, though the contents remained hidden.
Zhao Hai explained the setup: "Sect Master, Elders, I designed this furnace myself. It processes the scrap materials provided by the Sect, melting them into basic liquid metal which is then funneled to the lower level through that pipe. These three puppets manage the furnace. The tall ones load the scrap, while the small one monitors the temperature. A Fire-Gathering Array sits beneath the furnace to provide heat. The upper chamber is for refining; the open side is for intake, and the pipe serves as the exit for the molten metal." He pointed to the machinery and then to the puppets. "These puppets are small, so I only needed a few common souls to power them. Giving them a touch of intelligence allows them to perform these basic tasks; otherwise, the process couldn't be automated."
The Sect Master and the others examined the unusual furnace with fascination. They hadn't expected Zhao Hai to create such a system. The ability to refine waste into liquid metal and transport it automatically to the next stage was remarkably efficient.
Zhao Hai looked at the group and suggested, "Sect Master, Elders, let us descend to the next level." Everyone nodded. Since this floor only housed the furnace, they were eager to see what lay beneath and how the metal was being utilized.
The level below was a hub of activity. They discovered several long metal worktables flanked by metal puppets. At the head of each table, a pipe poured glowing red liquid into molds. These molds appeared to have a cooling function, as the metal solidified into specific shapes almost instantly while remaining red-hot. There were ten tables in total, each producing a different component.
The puppets worked with mechanical precision. Once the metal pieces left the molds, they moved down the line. As the metal traveled along the tables, the puppets hammered them incessantly. The group noticed that one hand of each puppet was actually a heavy hammer. Each puppet struck a specific spot on the metal with consistent force before passing it to the next. By the time a block reached the end of the line, its shape had been completely transformed. Finally, the glowing pieces were pushed into a hole leading to the next floor. The entire process was seamless.
The leaders watched as the metal flowed like water past the puppets, changing shape at every station. The puppets didn't need to perform complex maneuvers; they simply repeated one simple action over and over.
Zhao Hai turned to the visitors and said, "Sect Master, there are ten distinct production lines here. They create the head, the torso, and the limbs—left arm, right arm, left leg, right leg, and so on. These ten parts are manufactured separately but with identical dimensions, which makes the assembly of a basic metal puppet much faster."
The Sect Master and Elders were impressed by the efficiency. The puppets moved so quickly that dozens of components had been produced in the few minutes they had been watching. At this rate, they could produce a massive number of puppets in no time.
Zhao Hai smiled at their reaction. "Sect Master, let’s move to the floor below. That is where we inscribe the arrays onto these metal parts." He realized this was all very new to them, which explained their shock, but he wanted to show them the full process.
The group followed him down to the next level, which mirrored the layout of the one above. Long tables were lined with puppets, each possessing one regular hand and one arm ending in a hammer. However, the faces of these hammers were engraved with raised runes.
As the red-hot metal blocks slid down from the ceiling, the puppets struck them, stamping the runes directly into the metal. The pieces were passed from one puppet to the next, each adding a different part of the design. By the end of the line, the components were covered in orderly, precise arrays. Despite the complexity of the symbols, they were perfectly aligned. Once finished, the glowing parts were pushed down to the final level.
All ten lines operated with the same mechanical rhythm. The metal remained red-hot as it moved, indicating the process was continuous and rapid. Because each puppet only had to perform a single strike, they didn't require high intelligence, yet the speed was incredible—a finished part was sent to the next floor almost every second.
