Living In Another World With A Farm Chapter 8298 - 275-a way out (1)

Previously on Living In Another World With A Farm...
Using a specialized formation, Zhao Hai creates an escape passage through the Spiritual Array Sect’s mountain-protecting array, allowing the trapped cultivators to flee. However, after receiving urgent news via a jade slip, Zhao Hai stays behind and forces Li Ruohai to surrender a powerful battle corpse to him in exchange for the Yin-Yang Mirror. As the group escapes, Li Ruohai triggers the battle corpse to self-destruct to ensure Zhao Hai does not survive, only to emerge and discover the Blood Slaughter Sect has descended into a violent internal schism. With two major seas declaring independence as the Blood Sea Alliance, the survivors realize that the world they have returned to is now at war with itself.

"Young Master, I possess information regarding Blood Drop Island. It is a territory established by three Island Masters who are affiliated with the Blood Slaughter Sect in the southeastern sea. They are loyal members, not part of the rebellion. I have also heard of Blood Bone Island; it was the place that resisted the insurgents and was ultimately decimated. Word is that their Island Master escaped with injuries, but he was the sole survivor. Everyone else perished," the disciple from the Corpse Demon Sect explained to Li Ruohai.

Upon hearing this, Li Ruohai couldn't help but heave a heavy sigh. Gazing toward the Spiritual Array Sect, he whispered to himself, "To make such a decisive move in so little time—impressive, truly impressive. Zhao Hai, I genuinely admire you now. I hope you manage to survive." With those words, he turned and soared away into the distance.

Meanwhile, Zhao Wuji was listening to his Elder's explanation in a daze. He finally grasped why Zhao Hai had urged him to depart while keeping Yan Bei behind. Zhao Wuji had posed the same question to his superiors. As an Elder of the Giant Demon Sect, the man possessed a profound understanding of the Blood Slaughter Sect and provided an answer identical to the one given by the Corpse Demon Sect. Zhao Wuji exhaled in relief, realizing that Zhao Hai’s choice to remain hidden was the correct one.

At that moment, two Elders from the Blood Slaughter Sect led their followers toward the Giant Demon Sect's position. However, the Giant Demon Sect Elders showed no fear, meeting them with cold stares. While the Giant Demon Sect maintained good ties with the Blood Slaughter Sect, they had no such relationship with these traitors. The members of the Giant Demon Sect harbored a deep-seated hatred for turncoats.

Sensing the hostile atmosphere, the two rebel Elders halted about fifty meters away. One of them cupped his fists and spoke politely, "Greetings, fellow Daoists of the Giant Demon Sect. I have a question for this young friend here. Would that be permitted?"

The Giant Demon Sect Elder merely snorted at them. "The Giant Demon Sect has nothing to discuss with the likes of you. Begone." Without another word, he turned his back on them. Despite the selfish nature of most Cultivators, they still held traitors in low regard and refused to associate with them.

The two rebel Elders were infuriated by this treatment, yet they suppressed their rage. They were well aware that a confrontation might not end in their favor. More importantly, if they provoked the Giant Demon Sect now, it might drive the sect to join forces with the loyalist Blood Slaughter Sect to crush them. Such a move would spell the end for the Blood Sea Alliance. Swallowing their anger, they let out cold snorts and departed.

They did not leave the area entirely, however. Instead, they approached the group from the Corpse Demon Sect. One Elder cupped his fists and said somberly, "Fellow Daoists of the Corpse Demon Sect, I wish to ask Young Master Li Ruohai a few questions. I wonder if you could do me this favor?"

The members of the Corpse Demon Sect understood their intentions immediately. They knew Li Ruohai had initially clashed with Zhao Hai’s team before eventually cooperating with them. This meant Li Ruohai had spent more time with Zhao Hai than anyone else. It was obvious they were hunting for information.

The two Elders from the Corpse Demon Sect refrained from answering, looking instead to Li Ruohai. Although his Cultivation was not as high as theirs, his status was superior. He was the true decision-maker of the group. Thus, the Elders remained silent and waited for his command.

Li Ruohai glanced at the two rebel Elders with a slight frown. "I have nothing to tell you," he said coldly. He then ignored them and walked away. Despite his personal grudge against Zhao Hai, he respected the man’s tactical brilliance and swift judgment. Conversely, he felt only contempt for these traitors and had no desire to assist them.

The rebel Elders were stunned that someone who supposedly hated Zhao Hai would refuse to talk. Their expressions turned incredibly grim as they watched Li Ruohai’s departing back. Failing there, they attempted to question others, but the members of the ten great sects gave them no face. Only some minor sects provided information, but since Zhao Hai had been busy with formations, they knew very little. The Elders were left with no useful intelligence, much to their frustration.

Typically, high-level figures like them wouldn't care about a common disciple like Zhao Hai. However, they had explicit orders to eliminate him. Intelligence suggested that their forced, premature rebellion was caused entirely by Zhao Hai’s interference. Their original plan was to slowly infiltrate the Blood Slaughter Sect from within, but Zhao Hai had ruined that, forcing them into an early uprising. They wanted his head for this.

But since Zhao Hai was still within the Spiritual Array Sect’s territory and they had no leads, killing him seemed impossible. They had witnessed thousands of Cultivators fail to breach the Mountain-protecting array earlier. Now that the other sects had left, only their small group remained. Attempting to break in now would be madness.

After a long silence, one of the rebel Elders suggested, "Take the disciples and head back. I will stay here to see if the rift reappears when the time limit expires. If it opens, I will enter to confirm if Zhao Hai is dead or alive. If not, I will follow you back."

The other Elder nodded and led the group away, leaving his companion to find a spot to meditate. For a Cultivator of his caliber, waiting a month or two in meditation was a trivial matter.

Inside the manor, Zhao Hai and Yan Bei watched as massive fists hammered against the protective barrier. Despite the force, the shield held firm. Standing beside Zhao Hai was the battle corpse, completely intact and showing no signs of self-destruction.

This was exactly why Zhao Hai had pulled the corpse into his Space. The moment it entered, the Space neutralized Li Ruohai’s hidden commands and subverted its loyalty. The battle corpse was now entirely under Zhao Hai's control.

Yan Bei stared at the vanished exit, his face pale. "Little Hai, what are we doing?" He was utterly bewildered. Zhao Hai had blocked him from leaving even as the portal was closing. He knew Zhao Hai must have a reason, but he couldn't fathom what it was.

Zhao Hai looked at him and wordlessly handed over a Jade slip. If Yan Bei read it, everything would become clear. This message had been sent by Lei Gang. Usually, such a message wouldn't reach someone inside an isolated zone, but Zhao Hai’s Space allowed him to bypass certain worldly restrictions. The Jade slip had manifested in his hands the moment he established a connection.

Yan Bei took the slip with confusion, but as he scanned the contents, his face twisted with rage. "Those bastards actually rebelled? And Master is being targeted? Those treacherous dogs, I’ll slaughter them all!" His eyes burned with fury.

"Did you miss the detail about who led us here?" Zhao Hai asked calmly. "The two Elders in charge of our group are part of the rebellion. If we had stepped through that portal, we would have been executed immediately. Staying here is our only chance at survival. Outside, death is certain."

Yan Bei looked at the chaos outside the barrier and sighed. "To be honest, Little Hai, I don't see how we survive here either. What is our plan? How do we get out?" He couldn't see a future. They had only held out before because of the combined strength of thousands of people. Alone, how could they withstand the Spiritual Array Sect's power?

Zhao Hai smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, Senior Brother. I wouldn't have kept you here if I didn't have a plan. Do you truly believe my formations are so weak that they require a crowd to function? I only had those people pour their Qi into the array to keep them occupied. If they had nothing to do, they would have caused trouble. I just wanted them tired and out of the way."

Yan Bei stood frozen in shock. "You mean... you can hold off the Spiritual Array Sect’s attacks with just this formation? Is that even possible?" He found it hard to believe that a single array could possess such overwhelming power.
