Zhao Hai and Li Ruohai have reached a tense agreement to exchange the Yin-Yang Mirror for a chance to escape the Spiritual Array Sect’s mountain-protecting formation. While Li Ruohai plans to use the mirror to survive a demonic seed threat, Zhao Hai secretly maintains control of the formation through a blood lotus. As the external attacks from sect elders intensify, the group prepares for a final, desperate attempt to break through the barrier. Suspecting a betrayal, Zhao Hai urges his allies to flee first while he remains behind to anchor the array, setting the stage for a dangerous confrontation.

BOOM! A massive fist crashed against the shield, causing the Yin Yang fish symbol to tremble as it absorbed the impact. Following that strike, the fist vanished, leaving only three remaining to continue the assault. The crowd erupted in cheers at this sight, realizing the enemy's offensive wave had ceased once more. This signaled their long-awaited opportunity to escape this cursed place.

Li Ruohai surveyed the gathered cultivators and offered a smile. "Very well, everyone follow me." Recognizing their desperation, he wasted no breath and gave the command immediately. With a roar of excitement, the group swarmed toward him as he led them in a swift flight toward the formation.

They reached the site shortly after, finding the formation fully prepared for activation. Zhao Hai stood at the center, flanked by Yan Bei and Zhao Wuji, who maintained calm expressions as they watched the arriving mob. Li Ruohai brought the crowd to the edge of the array and looked at Zhao Hai, asking in a low tone, "Zhao Hai, are the preparations complete?"

"It is ready," Zhao Hai replied solemnly. "Everyone, prepare yourselves. We are departing." He immediately began manipulating his hand seals to trigger the array. As his technique infused the formation, pillars of light erupted from the ground. A crimson glow intensified until it manifested into a colossal light arrow, stretching nearly 300 meters into the air.

Zhao Hai monitored the arrow until it reached full saturation. "Go!" he commanded. At his word, the light arrow began to rotate violently before launching forward, striking the mountain-protecting array of the Spiritual Array Sect.

The sect's defensive barrier shuddered under the impact. Slowly, the arrow of light forced its way into the barrier until it was completely submerged. A thunderous explosion followed, tearing a hole roughly 100 feet wide in the defenses. Through the gap, the swirling blood mist of the outside world became visible to all.

Cheers broke out again as the cultivators began to flee through the opening. Night Demon and his cohorts were among the first to dash toward the exit. Curiously, the Spiritual Array Sect’s formation seemed paralyzed; it did not react or attempt to intercept the escaping group.

Suddenly, Zhao Hai’s expression shifted. He produced a Jade slip and scanned it with his mental power, causing his face to pale. He grabbed Yan Bei and turned toward Zhao Wuji. "Senior Brother Zhao, the situation has shifted. You must leave at once." Although confused, Zhao Wuji didn't argue. He nodded and flew straight for the breach.

Li Ruohai watched Zhao Hai’s strange behavior with suspicion. Zhao Hai turned to him and spoke urgently, "Senior Brother Li, hand the battle corpse over to me and leave now. I fear the window to exit is much smaller than we calculated." Even as he spoke, Zhao Hai kept a firm grip on Yan Bei. Yan Bei was bewildered but sensed the gravity of the situation, likely tied to that Jade slip. He remained still and did not resist.

Li Ruohai considered him for a moment before nodding. With a wave, the battle corpse moved to Zhao Hai’s side. Tapping the corpse’s forehead, Li Ruohai told him, "The seal on his body has been lifted. You can control him by placing your own seal. I assume you already know the methods for this?"

Zhao Hai gave a nod and executed a sequence of hand seals, pointing at the corpse’s head. The battle corpse’s eyes opened, but the murderous intent previously directed at Zhao Hai had vanished. Li Ruohai sighed as he glanced at the creature one last time. "Where is the item I requested?" he asked.

Zhao Hai waved his hand, and a beam of white light shot out from the manor into his palm, revealing a small mirror. Yan Bei recognized it as the Yin-Yang Mirror. Passing it to Li Ruohai, Zhao Hai explained, "Here it is. It will be ready for use once you refine it. I have not possessed it long, so its full functions are unknown to me, other than its ability to manipulate the array. You will have to discover the rest yourself."

Li Ruohai inspected the ancient-looking mirror and, satisfied with its authenticity, tucked it away without a word. He flew toward the exit. Just then, the Spiritual Array Sect’s defenses finally reacted, sending several massive fists hurtling toward the escape passage. If they hit, the casualties among the fleeing cultivators would be catastrophic.

Zhao Hai quickly stored the battle corpse in his spatial medium, then released it again after infusing it with several spells. "Transform!" he roared. Under his command, the battle corpse expanded rapidly until it became a 30-meter-tall giant. The behemoth let out a sky-shaking howl and intercepted the incoming attacks with its own fists, blocking the strikes with a series of thunderous booms.

The cultivators moved with frantic speed through the wide passage. Li Ruohai was through the gap in an instant. As he cleared the exit, screams erupted behind him. He looked back to see the massive fists crushing those who hadn't made it in time, turning them into bloody paste.

Li Ruohai’s face darkened at the sight. He accelerated away from the breach, noticing that the tunnel was already beginning to collapse. He quickly performed several hand seals and shouted, "Explode!"

A violent blast rocked the tunnel behind him, causing it to vanish entirely. Li Ruohai exhaled in relief. The spell he had just triggered was a hidden command in the battle corpse, intended to make it self-destruct as a final precaution. He had no intention of letting Zhao Hai survive.

Surveying the survivors, he realized that of the 3,000 who entered the manor, only about 2,000 had escaped. More than 1,000 people were lost, including Zhao Hai and Yan Bei. He glanced toward the members of the Blood Slaughter Sect and noticed they were huddled together with odd expressions.

Li Ruohai felt a sense of unease. He looked toward the Giant Demon Sect and saw Zhao Wuji engaged in a serious, whispered conversation with an Elder. Soon, two leading Elders from the Corpse Demon Sect approached Li Ruohai. Despite being Island Lord level experts, they bowed respectfully.

"Young Master, you have returned safely," one said. "We heard you left the battle corpse with Zhao Hai so he could stay behind? Is this true?"

Even with their superior Cultivation, they dared not disrespect Li Ruohai. He was the Sect Master’s direct disciple and blood relative. His safety was their primary responsibility, and any harm to him would bring dire consequences. Li Ruohai nodded. "Rest assured, I have already triggered the corpse's self-destruction. We needed a distraction to escape. But tell me, has something occurred within the Blood Slaughter Sect? The atmosphere here feels wrong."

The Island Lord’s expression turned grim. "Indeed, Young Master. The Blood Slaughter Sect has fractured. The Grand Elder attempted to purge the influential families within the Sect, but those families had spent years building their own power. Many of their members reached the Island Lord level and refused to submit. They have revolted and declared independence."

He continued, "Two of the eight Great Elders have led this rebellion. The Northwest and West seas, governed by the White Heart Blood Shadow and the Yin Wuchang Blood Ghost, have formed the 'Bloody Sea Alliance.' Thousands of Island Lords joined them, and those who refused were executed. The two Island Lords currently present here are from the Western Sea—they are rebels."

Li Ruohai was stunned, his eyes flashing with realization. "Do you know which regions Blood Drop Island and Blood Bone Island belong to?" He finally understood why Zhao Hai had grabbed Yan Bei so forcefully. Zhao Hai must have known.

Yet, a question lingered in Li Ruohai's mind. How could Zhao Hai receive news while trapped inside the Spiritual Array Sect? Was it that Jade slip? And if he knew the Sect was in chaos, why stay behind? Surrendering to his own Sect members, even rebels, would have been safer than staying inside a collapsing array. Why would Zhao Hai choose a path with no survival?
