Invincible Divine Destiny Selection System Chapter 2016 - Capítulo 2016: 2016: Vastness

Previously on Invincible Divine Destiny Selection System...
Chu Yuan has initiated a dual strategy to elevate the Eternal Divine Martial Empire, sending his true self to the Heavenly Battlefield while his will dominates the Heavenly Tomb. By relentlessly devouring the remains of powerful entities, including an Eternal Celestial Emperor possessing a hint of the Upper Realm's will, he is rapidly accumulating the foundation necessary for his kingdom to ascend. As the empire’s citizens cultivate with newfound fervor under a mountain of plundered resources, Chu Yuan prepares for the inevitable conflicts of the Upper Realm. His journey now brings him directly to the front lines of the majestic battle between the worlds of Wu and Lei.

Chapter 2016: Vastness

The Heavenly Battlefield is not confined to a solitary coordinate.

Any domain where a conflict between heavens erupts can be designated as a Heavenly Battlefield.

Chu Yuan has currently reached the Heavenly Battlefield of War and Thunder. Before even crossing the threshold of this theater of war, he senses two overbearing wills clashing violently within the folds of time and space, generating a turbulent shockwave.

It is an onslaught launched from two distinct worlds.

In truth, the eternal rules serve as a form of heavenly will as well. However, they remain fragmented and incomplete due to the collapse of the heavens.

Casting his gaze across the horizon, Chu Yuan observes a limitless stretch of territory; the entire battlefield is unimaginably immense, manifesting as a sophisticated arena that perpetually grows in scale.

Naturally, a premier battlefield capable of sustaining the collisions of the imperial realms must be exceptionally magnificent.

To his left and right, two separate skies loom, signifying the Thunder Realm and the Martial Realm.

The expansive battlefield itself is sandwiched directly between these two celestial firmaments.

Though he has not yet dived into the fray, the slaughter of the conflict and a pungent bloody aura are already radiating outward. These two celestial beings have been locked in combat for countless eons without a moment of respite.

Chu Yuan does not need to see the heart of it to know the situation is incredibly savage.

Both of these celestial entities were survivors of the ancient war of heavens.

Their worlds possess ancient histories and deep, profound foundations.

Consequently, their heavenly wills are equally powerful.

“Ah, the battlefield of the heavens.”

Chu Yuan observes the scene with a discerning eye.

Within the intricate environment of the battlefield, he witnesses massive armies engaged in fierce combat.

He further notes that both factions have established countless fortified cities to serve as military camps. Every single city is outfitted with a specialized altar.

Inside a city of thunder, he spots numerous powerful experts in prayer, communing with the thunder. The heavens descend their essence in response, granting the warriors a rapid recovery of their strength.

An altar serves as a direct conduit to the heavens.

It functions as a means to grant divine treasures or to maintain communication with the heavens themselves.

He watches as experts from the thunder heavens trigger an altar, discharging a divine radiance that sweeps across millions, reducing an entire army to nothing but ash.

Watching from the periphery, Chu Yuan finds that having never witnessed a heavenly battle, his soul begins to undergo a swift and profound transformation from the experience.

“A battle of the heavens is fundamentally different from the campaigns I conducted in the Eternal Realm. Primarily, it is a collision of two worlds supported by the heavens, involving a competition for faith. Beyond their primary legions, they also enlist various auxiliary units to wage total warfare.”

With a single look, Chu Yuan realizes the immense complexity of this brand of war.

“I shall personally participate in this heavenly struggle.”

Chu Yuan proceeds to step onto the battlefield.

In addition to the central battlefield, various hunting and capturing operations are occurring on the outskirts.

For instance, Chu Yuan previously observed a thunder-armored god executing an eternal sovereign who had been sacrificed to the martial heavens.

Acquiring familiarity is essential, as initiating a war without comprehending the local combat dynamics would result in a severe disadvantage.

Observing such high-level warfare serves as a spiritual baptism for his imperial subjects as well.

As he enters the battlefield, two wills descend upon him. Neither seeks his destruction; instead, they attempt to etch him with their respective marks to recruit him into their ranks.

These are heavenly scripts.

One is the character for Thunder, and the other is for War.

“Aligned with two opposing factions.”

[Choice One: Align with the War Camp, receive five million Destiny Points, random Eternal Imperial Weapon x1]

[Choice Two: Align with the Thunder Camp, receive five million Destiny Points, random Eternal Imperial Weapon x1]

[Choice Three: Align with neither camp, receive five million Destiny Points, random Eternal Monarch x1]

The system’s choices manifest before him.

Predictably, Chu Yuan rejects both factions; he intends to remain a free agent.

In reality, there are many others like him who refuse to pick a side.

While joining a camp offers perks—such as support from allies who, under the watchful gaze of the heavens, cannot betray one another—there are drawbacks.

Furthermore, defeating enemies of the opposing faction yields specific rewards and contributions.

However, choosing a camp does not mean one is bound to that heavenly world forever; the loyalty is only recognized within the Heavenly Battlefield. Once one departs, all obligations vanish.

On the flip side, if one remains unaligned, the powerful figures from both sides may view a warrior without a heavenly mark as a common enemy and unite to kill them first.

Many choose not to join solely because they have absolute faith in their own power, seeking to temper themselves through the chaos of war.

The privilege of choice belongs only to the strong.

“Ding! The Host has selected Option Three, joining neither faction. Reward: five million Destiny Points and the Eternal Monarch, Xuangu Monarch.”

“Xuangu offers greetings to the Emperor!”

Upon his arrival, the Xuangu Monarch bows with deep respect before Chu Yuan.

“Xuangu Monarch.”

With a flick of his wrist, Chu Yuan recalls the Monarch of the Rifts.

The system’s capabilities are truly and boundlessly enigmatic.

Legend says the first being of the heavens, the very first heaven, is the Heavenly King, and the system originates from the heavenly realm as well. What sort of power does it truly represent?

With these reflections in mind, Chu Yuan begins to move through the battlefield.

The skirmishes are endless. Not even eternal celestial lords are safe, and even a minor blunder by an eternal monarch can result in instant death.

In the absence of direct heavenly intervention, the Eternal Imperial Realm stands as the supreme power here.

Yet, over the long years of the war between Thunder and War, even figures of the eternal imperial level have been counted among the dead.

Rumble!

Shortly after his entry, two massive pillars of light suddenly erupt from different directions, crashing into one another. His current position is precisely at the center of their impact.

This strike is not the work of a single individual but a combined assault launched by entire armies.

While such a violent force could gravely injure an eternal monarch, it is unable to move Chu Yuan.

He sees two armies in opposite directions, numbering in the billions, organized into disciplined legions and launching savage attacks under the command of an eternal monarch.

Their collective power tears through the void, striking the opposing camps.

With every volley, a multitude of lives are completely erased.

“The clash of grand legions!”

Chu Yuan evaluates the military might of the two formations.

The Eternal Imperial Realm acts as the supreme commander, with eternal monarchs serving as generals, eternal celestial lords as officers, and eternal celestial gods and true gods as captains.

Beneath them are vast numbers of intermediate origin gods and a literal ocean of primal deities acting as cannon fodder.

In the wars of the heavens, the primal deity is the standard unit, and they suffer the highest casualties.

In the Eternal Path, a primal deity might hold some prestige, but here they are the bottom tier; every legion present contains billions of them.

The current foundation of Chu Yuan's empire can certainly form legions with primal gods at the base, but their numbers remain restricted.

However, even these two massive legions represent only a microscopic fraction of the total battlefield.

Two entire systems are engaged in top-to-bottom warfare.

This scale of organization is currently beyond the reaches of the empire’s foundation.

Of course, compared to these ancient powers, the empire has had very little time to develop. Chronologically, there is no fair comparison.

“This is the true scale and majesty of a war of the heavens.”

Chu Yuan remains composed. To those heavenly entities, not only ordinary experts but even those of the imperial realm are expendable on the Heavenly Battlefield.
