Immortality Through Array Formations Chapter 1995 Chapter 961: Dragon Coffin (Part 2)

Previously on Immortality Through Array Formations...
The majestic dragon head gate has finally opened, allowing the group to enter the heart of the Great Wilderness royal tomb. Within the opulent Gushan Temple, Mo Hua maintains his disguise as a mindless puppet while observing a forest of golden statues all bearing the likeness of Lord Yellow Mountain. At the deepest part of the hall, the group discovers an exquisite dragon coffin situated beneath a massive mountain deity statue. While the cultivators prepare to seize the long-awaited dragon vein and hidden inheritances, a chilling revelation halts their progress: the coffin seals a dangerous Evil Embryo.

It was exactly as he suspected!

Hidden deep within Solitary Mountain lay an evil fetus, and this monstrous entity was unexpectedly entombed inside a dragon coffin belonging to the Great Wilderness royal lineage.

However...

How did this elder in black robes come to possess such knowledge?

Mo Hua felt a deep sense of confusion rising within him.

At that same moment, Young Master Xuan voiced his own suspicion, "Can this be proven true?"

The black-robed elder gave a slow, deliberate nod.

Frowning with eyes that flickered with uncertainty, Young Master Xuan remarked, "Second Elder, do not attempt to intimidate me with some phantom 'evil fetus' title. If you wish for our alliance to proceed without issue, I require a thorough explanation of this situation."

"What exactly is this evil fetus, and what is its origin?"

The black-robed elder remained quiet for a brief spell before sighing, a freezing light surfacing in his gaze. "This tale begins with a 'Shaman' who was once held in the highest regard by my tribe..."

"A Shaman?" Young Master Xuan asked, appearing somewhat caught off guard.

The black-robed elder explained, "A Shaman is one who serves Ghost Gods, inscribes the Four Symbols, governs totems, directs beasts, and interprets the whims of fate... they are the wizards of my Great Wilderness tribe."

"The Taoist Court slaughtered our Great Wilderness royalty, severed our ancestral bloodline, and shattered the foundation of our people. Through long years of chaos and exile, barely one in ten of our Shamans remain."

"Despite this, those who survived have been waiting for their moment, hiding their presence to eventually restore the Great Wilderness royal family."

"Yet the heavens were not kind; a bloody 'betrayal' occurred among the Shamans!"

The elder's voice carried a mixture of fury and lingering dread.

Young Master Xuan’s countenance grew increasingly serious.

Trembling, the black-robed elder continued, "During a ritual meant to serve the Ghost Gods, one Shaman broke a sacred taboo and stirred the ancient Evil God of the Great Wilderness."

"Tempted by the whispers of that Evil God, he turned against us."

"Outwardly, he maintained his facade as a respected Shaman, but in the shadows, he abandoned his path and betrayed the Great Wilderness. He surrendered his entire being to the Evil God, sparking a disaster. He plundered the Great Wilderness inheritance, usurped our bloodline, and cultivated an evil fetus within this Divine Temple!"

"This was the very first evil fetus he ever nurtured."

"His goal was to use this fetus as a vessel to bring about the descent of the Evil God."

"But for reasons unknown, he met with failure. The Evil God did not descend, and the evil fetus spiraled out of control."

"The traitor had no choice but to seal the entity within the Divine Temple at the base of Solitary Mountain."

"And as we speak..." The elder stared at the golden dragon coffin, his eyes wide with terror, "that evil fetus lies sleeping inside this very coffin."

Young Master Xuan’s expression shifted at the revelation, though after a moment, he frowned, still harboring doubts.

Mo Hua, however, felt a surge of intense emotion as he listened.

While Young Master Xuan was in the dark, Mo Hua was different; he had been deeply entangled in the affairs of the Evil God and understood the gravity of the situation better than anyone.

The Second Elder's narrative had unveiled numerous hidden truths.

It provided the answers to many of the questions Mo Hua had been harboring.

Mo Hua’s thoughts raced as he analyzed the elder's words:

"The traitor mentioned by the Second Elder, the one who turned on his kin for the Evil God... is that 'Mr. Tu'?"

"Was Mr. Tu actually a 'Shaman' of the Great Wilderness tribe?"

"Serving Ghost Gods, drawing Four Symbols, controlling totems, commanding beasts, and predicting fate... it explains how he could master the Four Symbols Formation and the Divine Formation, why he could breed monster cultivators in the Valley of Ten Thousand Demons, mask the Heavenly secrets for the Rouge Boat, and foresee omens of good and ill fortune..."

"He raised an evil fetus here in Solitary Mountain, and it was his first attempt."

"He spent centuries trying to use this vessel to summon the Evil God..."

The memory of the ten thousand pits and the countless corpses of over a hundred thousand mining cultivators filled Mo Hua's heart with a heavy, cold weight.

Nearby, Young Master Xuan thought it over before speaking with a thin smile, "Senior, do such things as evil gods truly exist in this world?"

"You should pray that you never cross paths with one..."

The black-robed elder shot him a look. "Entities like Evil Gods do not exist if you never meet them. But if you do, their existence becomes irrelevant, for by then, your very self will have been erased."

"You have practiced the Planting Devil in Taoist Heart; you ought to understand the nature of such things," the elder added.

A slight chill ran through Young Master Xuan’s heart. After a pause, he asked, "If the dragon coffin truly contains an evil fetus as you say, are we not meant to wake it?"

"It must never be disturbed," the black-robed elder insisted.

Young Master Xuan knit his brows, "And why is that?"

"You cannot fathom the horror of the evil fetus," the elder replied. "If it wakes, none of us will survive."

Young Master Xuan remained skeptical.

Noticing his disbelief, the black-robed elder spoke with grim intensity:

"Do not assume that mastering the Planting Devil in Taoist Heart makes you an expert in the Divine Thought. You have never truly faced the bizarre nature of the Divine Thought, nor do you grasp the staggering terror hidden within it."

Young Master Xuan kept his face cold and composed. "This evil fetus is, at most, only at the Third Grade, is it not?"

"Only Third Grade..." the elder sneered. "Do you have any idea what a Third Grade Divine Fetus represents?"

"This is the physical vessel of a Third Grade Evil God that failed its descent into our realm!"

"If it awakens, forget about you—even if the Elders of your clan were here, they might not leave Solitary Mountain alive. Even if their bodies escaped, their souls would remain imprisoned here forever."

"Furthermore, if my suspicions are correct..." The elder’s eyes were consumed by a profound fear. "This evil fetus is likely at the peak of the Third Grade, on the verge of reaching the Fourth-grade realm..."

While Young Master Xuan remained unmoved by these words, Mo Hua felt his scalp go numb with dread.

A peak Third Grade, nearly Fourth-grade evil fetus?

That was impossible!

It was a foe that could not be fought, let alone defeated.

Mo Hua’s heart hammered against his ribs.

Destroying a Second Grade evil fetus had pushed him to his absolute limits; facing a peak Third Grade version was unthinkable.

They were entirely different tiers of power, beyond any comparison.

Worse yet, this was a failed vessel that had "lost control," making it an even more volatile and lethal threat.
