I Can See Through All Things' Information Chapter 5 Rich Harvest

Previously on I Can See Through All Things' Information...
Lu Qing leads a group of village children to the riverbank, where he carefully surveys the water to find the perfect fishing location. Utilizing his unique ability to see informational glows, he discovers that his power can identify specific fishing spots, categorized by quality and the type of catch available. After scouting several locations, including a primary spot that promises larger fish, he decides to play it safe. To protect his limited equipment, he settles on an ordinary spot known for smaller fish, preparing to test his handmade rod while the children watch from a safe distance.

Upon arriving at his chosen spot, Lu Qing flattened the surrounding grass and set down his wooden barrel before retrieving the bamboo container filled with earthworms.

He broke the mud seal on the container, exposing the wriggling red earthworms within.

From their elevated position on the slope, the sharp-eyed little rascals spotted the squirming creatures and let out cries of surprise.

Earthworms were familiar to them, as they frequently caught the creatures for fun.

Sometimes they even unearthed them to serve as fodder for their families' ducks and chickens.

However, the idea that these worms could be utilized to lure fish was entirely new to them.

With the children watching his every move, Lu Qing pulled out an earthworm and carefully threaded it onto his hook.

He then cast the writhing bait into the river.

The hook splashed down precisely within the gray swirling zone identified by his superpower.

With the line set, Lu Qing settled into a patient wait.

The little rascals behind him held their breath, their gazes locked onto the water.

Before long, the small wooden stick serving as a float began to twitch on the surface.

The sight caused the children to grow even more anxious.

Lu Qing, however, remained perfectly still and composed, ignoring the initial tremors of the stick.

Only when the float suddenly tilted sharply and plunged beneath the surface did he snap the fishing rod upward.

A streak of white light erupted from the water.

By the time the onlookers could focus, a small white fish as thick as two fingers was dangling from the line.

“He actually caught one!”

The little rascals were stunned to see the small white fish thrashing and flicking its tail on the hook.

Little Yan jumped for joy, shouting, “Big brother caught a fish! It’s a huge one!”

A smile touched Lu Qing’s lips.

He was relieved that his technique remained sharp; landing a fish on his first attempt saved him from any potential embarrassment in front of the kids.

He unhooked the prize and inspected it closely.

The creature looked remarkably similar to the whitefish he had known in his previous life.

Suddenly, a faint gray glow radiated from the fish’s body.

[Small White Fish: Edible, potentially useful for nutritional recovery.]

Lu Qing felt a wave of relief at the word "edible."

Knowing it was safe to eat meant that today’s meal was guaranteed.

He added some water to his barrel and dropped the fish inside, feeling a bit helpless as the children continued their excited shouting behind him.

“Keep it down a little, or you’ll frighten the fish away,” he cautioned.

The little rascals immediately clamped their hands over their mouths, though the thrill in their eyes was impossible to suppress.

Witnessing Lu Qing actually land a fish felt like discovering a brand-new world to them, and their hearts raced with excitement.

Yet, the events that followed showed the children what true excitement looked like.

Lu Qing baited another hook, and almost as soon as it hit the water, the float dipped again. He pulled up a second white fish.

From that moment on, Lu Qing entered a rhythm of continuous success.

One fish after another was hauled from the depths with such ease it seemed as though he were simply picking them out of the air.

His haul wasn't limited to whitefish; he pulled up a variety of aquatic life.

Yellowbone fish and small river shrimp soon joined the growing pile in the barrel.

The spectacle pushed the children’s excitement to its limit.

They would have been screaming at the top of their lungs if they weren't so afraid of scaring the school away.

When Lu Qing reached into the bamboo container again, his fingers met only the bottom.

Upon checking, he saw that the earthworms were nearly gone, with only a couple left at the base.

He glanced at the wooden barrel, which was now brimming with a bountiful harvest.

A satisfied grin spread across his face.

It had been ages since he had felt this level of fulfillment from a simple rod and line.

This Otherworld was truly remarkable; the pristine environment produced fish that were uniquely vigorous.

Even the smaller ones put up a substantial fight, their strength surprising him as he reeled them in.

He also felt a lingering sense of caution.

Choosing this particular spot for smaller fish had been the right move; if he had tried the other two locations, the sheer power of larger prey would likely have snapped his line instantly.

Noticing the bait was gone and the frequency of bites was slowing down,

Lu Qing decided it was time to end the session.

If he kept going, he might deplete the local population entirely.

The spot needed time to recover.

With that resolve, Lu Qing retracted his rod, tossed the last few worms into the stream, and grabbed the heavy bucket to head back up the hill.

The children on the slope were looking at him with nothing short of pure adoration.

They swarmed him the moment he reached them.

The sight of the overflowing bucket left them in awe.

“Lu Qing, you’re incredible! How did you catch so many?”

“There are so many fish here, we won't be able to finish them all!”

“I can’t believe you can really catch things with just a bamboo pole!”

...

“Brother, look! So many fish!”

Little Yan skipped around Lu Qing, her face flushed with pride and joy.

“It’s nothing special, they’re just a bit small,” Lu Qing replied modestly.

Once the children’s initial fervor died down, Lu Qing suggested, “Help me carry this bucket back to the house. If you do, I’ll share the catch with everyone.”

Lu Qing estimated the haul was around seven or eight kilograms. Combined with the water and the barrel, it was quite a load.

His body was still recovering and lacked stamina; while he could lift it, trekking all the way back to the village was a daunting prospect.

Besides, he and his sister couldn't possibly consume this much before it spoiled.

Small fish died quickly and he lacked the means to preserve them, so giving them away was the most practical choice.

“We’ll do it, Lu Qing!”

The promise of a share sent the kids into a new frenzy of excitement.

They grabbed the handles, working together to lift the heavy barrel with ease.

A few children who couldn't find a spot to grip looked ready to burst into tears.

Lu Qing had to intervene, organizing a rotation system to keep the peace among the group.

And so, the procession began its journey back to the village with their heavy prize.

As they entered the village, the boisterous chatter of the children drew the attention of the local residents.

The villagers were stunned by what they saw.

“Lu Qing actually caught fish? And that many?”

While Lu Qing had been at the river, the news of his recovery had already circulated through the community.

Many were aware he had gone to try his luck at fishing.

However, no one expected him to return with such a massive haul.

Judging by the barrel, there had to be at least ten kilograms of fish inside.

When did Lu Qing become so skilled at this?

Curiosity gripped the villagers.

Those who had tried and failed to fish the river themselves were especially desperate to learn his secrets.

Driven by this intrigue, several villagers began to follow the group back toward Lu Qing’s home.
