Harem Stealer: Reborn with the God-Tier Sharing System Chapter 406: Sanctuary of Decree
Chapter 406 – Sanctuary of Decree
The decision was made, and Noah acted upon it immediately.
The wives stopped their charades and made a space for Noah and Virgo in the middle of the room. They watched from the side, wearing their transparent nightgowns.
Virgo smiled shyly, still unable to put up with so much attention on her, even though these were affectionate ones.
She was still not used to it. She did come from a place where people always looked at her...but it was either a look of scorn, or jealousy, or pure unreasonable hatred.
This changement was welcomed, but she would need time to adjust and fit herself into this new family.
"You have all the time, sweetheart." Noah whispered gently, dragging Virgo back into their current reality.
She blinked rapidly, her eyes clearing as she looked at the soft smile plastered on Noah’s beautiful face, his features just an inch from hers. "I do not know your past yet, so I might not understand what you went through. But worry not." He said, patting her crimson hair as if she were a child.
She was over a million years old.
"Don’t rush, you have the time to get used to this new reality. And I will make it easier by giving you the Elysiari bloodline."
He chuckled, "I guess once silver hair like all of us frames your head, the process will be...easier?"
The wives smiled at the side, looking at this scene with tenderness. Providence, especially, was moved.
Until recently, she had only watched these moments in the depths of Noah, unseen by all. And now here she was, her sisters around her, and the man she loved more than anything in front of her.
She was grateful.
Virgo, meanwhile, managed a wide open smile, her mind suddenly eased considerably after Noah’s words. She nodded vehemently, "Yes! It will be easier!" Her voice was freer.
Noah’s purple slitted eyes twinkled with amusement and soft love, "Now, come and let me see again." He said, and immediately began.
He raised his index finger, wrapping Virgo in a cocoon of purple threads of Providence. His purple slitted pupils narrowed in focus as he slowly began to examine the inside of Virgo.
Around him, the wives took a couple of steps back, giving him more space.
Deep inside Virgo, Noah began to see something. That something was not inside her body, nor in her soul, nor in her mind.
It was a skull colored in deep, intense crimson, so intense Noah’s own skull ached from the simple act of staring at it.
The crimson skull was placed in another fold of reality, buried deep into Virgo’s fate. By examining it, Noah could already sense that this thing held a portion of Virgo’s fate in its grasp, making her unable to ever escape the hand of Ruin.
Also, with his newfound level of proficiency in Providence, Noah saw that Virgo was slowly walking toward her inevitable death.
A death that would return her soul to the hand of Ruin, for she had strayed from her mission and failed.
That meant Ruin did not forget Virgo like he ignored others, something Noah expected, for he was not nearly strong enough to make a Pillar forget anything.
’Now, these Pillars are starting to get on my nerves.’ Noah whispered emotionlessly, his eyes cold for a heartbeat, seeing how Virgo would die no matter which path she took.
Something he would not allow.
Now he knew why he felt that only his new Power System could aid Virgo. He was now the perfect embodiment of Providence, able to manipulate her fate and change its outcome.
Noah doubted that even Ruin could snap away his authority over Providence inside this universe, let alone inside his own Buntu.
Yet still, he preferred to make sure nothing went wrong. He did not want Ruin to notice anything, for Noah could feel his senses warning him of a certain death if he did.
Not probable death.
Certain. Absolute.
It was a feeling Noah had not felt for a very, very long time. And that alone made him even more serious. So...
’I know I am abusing your gentleness, dear Records,’ he began, time around Laeh slowly crawling like a snail before stopping abruptly, ’but just hide me from that thing’s gaze until I finish my task.’
The Records’ eyes descended on him, heavy, but warm at the same time.
{The price would be heavy, Noah. You would not be able to bear it.}
Noah’s eyebrows knitted together, ’I guess then you have another way, otherwise you wouldn’t humor me. Tell me, then.’
The Records paused, wondering since when a simple universe-dweller spoke to Them so openly and brazenly. They almost laughed, but suppressed it, for their laughter would be heard by the Pillars of Reality.
They began to think, to ponder how they could aid their favorite. And something came to them immediately.
A glimpse. They wanted to give him a glimpse of the type of being he was going against.
But for that, he needed...
{Domain. Authority.} The Records said. {You have lost your domain and authority because of your new Power System.}
{You will need them, for me to help you.}
Noah tilted his head, finally realizing what he had lost. Yet he only smiled. His Power System was still in its infant stage, still very malleable.
So without hesitation, he began to modify and deepen it, "My domain? My authority?" he began, smiling, "This whole white-silver expanse is my domain. I created it, and I have absolute authority over every single aspect of it."
Noah’s body began to glow, his purple eyes shining with an intense hue. "My domain, this budding universe, shall be named Vaelgrim’s Sanctuary. And my authority shall be: Absolute. An authority with creation and epithet entwined together."
The glow wrapped his whole body, and on the tattoo situated on his chest, the name Vaelgrim’s Sanctuary began to etch itself.
Noah felt a very distinct authority enveloping him.
His Domain and Authority were complete, and a surge of power thundered through his being.
Only then...
{1 minute.} The Records said, {For one minute we will bestow you a Sanctuary of Decree.}
Noah raised an eyebrow, ’What is that?’
{With this power and Buntu, you will have one minute before He notices it.}
The Records fell silent, letting Noah think about it. But there was nothing to think about.
He grinned and activated his transformation ability, his pupils becoming key-shaped, his face turning faceless and formed from pure formless black substance with purple smoke-like hair drifting upward.
An overwhelming power of Providence surged inside him, his Buntu enhancing him greatly. Added to that, the primordial energy inside his body was doing wonders.
<Let’s start, Records.> his voice echoed eerily, sounding almost identical to the Records themselves.
The Records acted instantly,
Noah’s head exploded into billions of Providence fragments the moment he received his Sanctuary of Decree.
It was too heavy, too powerful, too straining on his very existence. He couldn’t even bear the weight of the name of this strange power.
His formless pieces were falling apart completely, making him briefly think he would die.
But the Records aided him, forcing a fragment of his still-intact mind to remain functional enough to perform the task. He gritted his nonexistent teeth and used Providence to completely sever the link between Virgo and Ruin.
At least, that was the plan.
But even if the Sanctuary of Decree was exponentially too powerful for him, Noah gained an insight from being destroyed by it.
Instead of severing the link, he could use the crimson skull in his favor.
He would make the skull the power of Virgo, not a tool of Ruin.
At that moment, he grinned with absolute lunacy, his mind shattering again and again under the weight of the power.
30 seconds left in the one minute.
He realized now why the Records gave him only one minute. He knew he would absolutely die if he spent more than one minute with a power he had no right to touch at his stage.
Something even a Progenitor did not possess.
He focused and used a function of his Sanctuary of Decree: The Scribe of Reality.
’I define existence by declaring it.’ Noah repeated inside his mind, then looked at the crimson skull intensely...
"You are sentient, and your master is Virginia Ti Raneth Vaelgrim."
The air hummed with power.
His body was disintegrating. A pain greater than anything he had ever felt pierced into his soul, fracturing it slowly.
He clenched his jaw and finished, "...you are a parasite. An inconsequential one in the eyes of Ruin, feeding on his leftover power for your master! You are undetectable to anyone except The Vaelgrims!"
A brilliant burst of black-and-white glow erupted from the skull, followed by Noah slumping weakly onto the floor, his transformation dispelled, a part of his body incomplete as if devoured by emptiness.
The one minute ended.
The Sanctuary of Decree had been revoked.
Noah’s chest heaved up and down sporadically, beads of sweat dripping down his face. His mind felt like someone was hammering it with the whole weight of Reality behind each strike.
[What did you do?] Providence shrieked in shock as she instantly appeared beside him.
The world was still paused in time. Noah had decided not to worry his wives with his disturbing state.
Only Providence could move.
At her words, Noah smiled weakly, "Ah, nothing." He rasped, voice thin, "I was simply meddling with an interesting power, darling."
He chuckled shakily. Providence’s cosmic purple eyes were shrouded in worry as she looked at Noah’s slowly healing body.
She sighed tiredly, [You are so reckless, Noah.]
Noah only smiled wryly. He had no choice. He needed to make Virgo one of them, needed her to feel more at ease and integrate faster into their family.
So the risk was necessary. And besides...
"Sanctuary of Decree..." he whispered, lips still dry, "Does it ring a bell, darling?"
Providence immediately fell silent, then slowly shook her head with a strained expression, [No.]
Noah shrugged, "Oh... no matter. I will find out."
The power he felt was overwhelming and dangerous. The kind that could break him completely. It was something he doubted even a Progenitor could display.
How could such a thing exist, and he had never heard about it? And how could one ever reach that level?
Multiple thoughts surged through his mind erratically, but all of them died down as he focused back on the present.
His body was now healed, though he remained weak. He staggered to his feet with Providence’s help, looking at the transforming Virgo in front of them.
In the process, he had given her his blood, making her undergo a racial change in that very moment. Added to that, with her unique familiar skull...
Virgo would be one hell of a powerhouse.
He smiled proudly, noticing her fate now altered in a way even Ruin would not notice.
He sincerely hoped.
Then he slowly raised his eyes toward the ceiling, mind aching, body still shaking with Providence at his side.
He sighed wistfully,
"I planned to go to the Spirit World for my mother’s soul, but..." he lowered his head and looked at his trembling hand, grinning, "I guess I will first collect my 30 stars and achieve Second Warren."
Providence nodded, placing her head on his shoulder, [The Spirit World is a divine realm, Noah. If we go there at this level... you might not die, Noah, but I cannot say the same for my sisters.]
[They are not you. They are not us.]
[We need to be stronger first.]
Noah fell silent. Then slowly, a smile crept along his lips, "So let’s begin the hunt, darling."
He raised his finger and tapped the space before him.
