"Such speed!"
"How is it possible for him to move so quickly?"
The group of four was stunned. Despite pushing themselves to their limits, they had been overtaken in an instant.
"Is that a specific movement technique, or perhaps his Chaos Law? Could the Chaos Law he refined be centered entirely around speed?"
They speculated amongst themselves, though such velocity left them feeling uneasy and cautious.
If Li Hao was capable of unleashing that kind of power during a fight, he would be able to engage or retreat at his own whim, making him a nightmare to deal with.
"These rats from the Human Race are certainly good at fleeing!"
Chi Pong’s expression turned dark. He had intended to gauge the human youth's capabilities within this Chaos River, but the boy had no intention of engaging them. It seemed their presence had been too loud, alerting the target and driving him away.
"It is of no consequence. We are bound to run into him once we reach the Endless Heavenly Domain."
A member of the Chaos Ancient Clan spoke in a low tone. He possessed a massive frame, black wings sprouting from his back, and purple scales coating his face.
"Agreed."
Falling silent, they increased their pace and continued to paddle against the current.
The pursuit of Li Hao by the Chaos Ancient Clan members had naturally drawn the gaze of others on the Chaos River. Many were secretly shocked to see Li Hao leave the four behind so effortlessly, as those from the Original Land were known to be formidable.
"That Haotian you spoke of is truly remarkable."
Luo Ningshuang and Lin Zhexuan were also surging forward atop the waves. While they had originally intended to overtake the young man, a glimmer of surprise touched her eyes when she saw him outdistance the four from the Original Land. She spoke to Lin Zhexuan with a composed voice.
Lin Zhexuan felt a wave of discomfort upon hearing her words. He was well aware of the boy's strength, but he hadn't anticipated he would be impressive enough to earn Senior Sister Nine’s praise.
"Let’s go, we need to move faster."
Luo Ningshuang pushed herself, accelerating once more to close the gap with the Chaos Ancient Clan members.
Soon, the riverbanks vanished from sight as they delved deeper into the horizon.
As the Chaos River surged and the corrosive Chaotic Power lashed out, the various figures riding the waves utilized their own techniques to shield themselves, steadily advancing through the torrent.
...
"It looks like we've taken the lead."
After his burst of speed, Li Hao had passed three other figures, leaving them far in his wake. After galloping ahead for another ten minutes without seeing anyone else, he realized they were likely at the front of the pack.
"It seems so."
Di Lingshu gave a faint, helpless smile, having grown numb to Li Hao’s shocking displays. Her master had once claimed that within a millennium, her Little Junior Brother would surpass her... it seemed her master had indeed been very generous in his assessment of her.
As a member of the Emperor Clan, she had encountered many geniuses, but none were as logic-defying as Li Hao.
"Shall we part ways once we arrive at the Endless Heavenly Domain?"
Di Lingshu suddenly inquired.
Li Hao turned to her, looking confused. "Part ways? For what reason?"
"I'm concerned I will only hold you back."
Di Lingshu explained, "Given your movement speed, you would definitely be much faster if I weren't slowing you down."
"What does speed matter?"
Li Hao shook his head without hesitation. "A slower pace allows one to enjoy the scenery. I only sped up because those individuals were chasing us... We will stay together in the Endless Heavenly Domain to watch each other's backs. If anything happened to you, I wouldn't know how to face Master."
Di Lingshu was momentarily stunned; looking at the boy’s calm expression, she realized he genuinely meant what he said.
In a place like the Endless Heavenly Domain where every opportunity is vital, he was willing to be burdened by her.
"Little Junior Brother, why don't you join our Emperor Clan?"
Di Lingshu asked softly. She watched Li Hao closely. She had previously asked their master about him and knew Li Hao did not come from a powerful clan. In fact, his bloodline was quite common, nothing like the Hundred Races of the True Realm. Even so, he had fought his way up to the ranks of the elite geniuses.
"Hmm?" Li Hao looked at her, blinking in confusion.
Di Lingshu’s face reddened slightly. "You lack the backing of a major clan. If you joined my Emperor Clan, you would certainly be held in high esteem."
Li Hao shook his head. "If I have no major clan, then I shall simply build one myself. I appreciate your kindness, Senior Sister."
Seeing his refusal, Di Lingshu wasn't surprised. A person like Li Hao would never be content living under the shadow of another.
Shortly after, as Li Hao raced ahead, a vast, pitch-black void suddenly emerged from beyond the roiling Chaotic Power.
Both Li Hao and Di Lingshu felt a sudden chill. They had reached their destination!
Was this the Endless Heavenly Domain?
Though she had never visited, Di Lingshu had heard descriptions from her master. Looking into the distance, she saw countless specks of light within the dark void; they were remnants of broken continents drifting in the air.
At this sight, Li Hao was reminded of the All Heavens and its Thirty-three Heavens—vast lands similar to what lay before him now.
However, the Endless Heavenly Domain appeared to contain far more than just thirty-three continents.
"Hmm?"
While Li Hao was scanning the area, he suddenly caught the scent of danger.
His eyes narrowed as he focused the Chaos Law into his vision. The darkness ahead seemed to pull back, revealing four massive, grotesque shadows lurking at the edge of the Chaos River. Some resembled giant serpents covered in jagged spikes, while others were a terrifying mix of a Great Turtle and a savage Lion.
They were lying in wait by the river, their presence perfectly masked with no aura leaking out.
"Stay alert."
Li Hao warned in a heavy voice.
"Hmm?"
Sensing the change in Li Hao’s demeanor, Di Lingshu’s heart pounded with a bad feeling. She squinted but saw nothing. Immediately, she circulated her bloodline and activated the Emperor’s Eyes, employing the Ancestor’s Eyes to pierce the veil ahead.
Before long, the four hidden monsters came into view.
"Are those... Chaos Dao Beasts?"
Di Lingshu was shocked to find four Chaos Dao Beasts lying in ambush at this location.
