Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2733: 1501: The Lord's Inquiry and Deployment

“City Lord, feel free to speak your mind.”
Leo Ray shifted his attention away from the freshly erected stone tablet in front of him and turned toward Book.
“Truth be told, Lord Brave, the initial two groups of heroes got summoned within the Grand Temple by the Deity itself, but you and your allies appeared right in the district, which led General Curry to suspect at first that your sudden arrival tied into the ‘Corrosion’ plot, since nothing like that had happened before.”
The elderly Book gave a nod to Leo Ray and went on: “Moreover, those first two waves of heroes arrived fully equipped and aware that their foe was the ‘Corrosion’ threat.”
“Huh? We got yanked here out of nowhere, totally unprepared!”
Moli pouted and wrinkled her forehead: “This Deity is obviously playing favorites! Total bias!”
With that said, Moli ducked her head and slipped behind Leo Ray, as if worried about provoking the Deity and inviting heavenly wrath.
“Your Majesty, what caused this odd turn of events?”
Grey Elder showed no signs of upset but still creased his brow a bit.
“I’d skip this kind of special treatment any day, considering the stone tablets for the first two Lords are basically sprouting weeds.”
Leo Ray gave a wry smile and replied: “From where I stand, it feels less like favoritism and more like a rush job, since those first two Lords bit the dust so fast—especially the second one, who tumbled into a honey trap in the most baffling way.”
“Maybe the Deity only lined up two sets of Lords for defending the city, not anticipating they’d drop so soon.”
At Leo Ray’s explanation, enlightenment dawned on the group.
The Lord has a point; unlike the thoroughly geared-up Lords from the earlier batches, we come across as hasty stand-ins, like a backup to the backup plan.
Evidence of this shows in those shadowy silhouettes that flickered during the spatial merge and the start of teleportation.
The Deity clearly spotted us venturing into the Ancient Relics and whipped up the spatial transfer and barrier on the fly; if it had been set up ahead, we’d have zapped here the moment we crossed into the ruins.
Seeing the looks of sudden clarity on their faces, Leo Ray didn’t ease up inside.
Actually, there’s one more angle: the guiding voice might have cranked up the challenge on purpose this round.
Had I gotten a heads-up, I could’ve at least pulled in powerhouses from the Rainforest Fortress Alliance, Desert Alliance, Broken Valley Alliance, or those posted at Lion City.
As these thoughts crossed Leo Ray’s mind, the aged Book bobbed his head in strong agreement with what had just been said: “Lord Brave speaks true; just last night, I caught the Divine Revelation, which said that by dispatching a particular magic signal paired with earnest invocations, fresh heroes could be called forth—and sure enough, Lord Brave showed up today.”
Finishing up, the old Book grasped his Magic Wand, murmured the incantation, and sent forth a distinctive magical signal that spread outward.
“Your Majesty, this matches exactly the magic signal this old servant picked up earlier!”
Guided by a handful of priests, Calvin and the sentinel powerhouses reached the spot, knelt before Leo Ray, and offered their salutes.
“So the City Lord was the one who broadcast the magic signal? Now the sequence of events makes perfect sense.”
Leo Ray dipped his head in acknowledgment, the full picture now clear in his grasp.
“Lord, remember the Dwarf Elf teleportation array at the ruins’ gateway and those Dwarf Soldiers we spotted moments ago.”
Broy directed the Alchemy Puppets to hoist him higher and murmured to Leo Ray; being a Dwarf Elf by birth, he clearly cared deeply about such matters.
“Yes, that wraps up our last question.”
Leo Ray agreed with a nod and promptly voiced the inquiry.
“Lord Brave, here’s the story: prior to the Era of Blankness, Observation City stood as a joint creation of Dwarf Elves and the Human Clan, back then, Dwarf Elves and Humans alike roused at once across the city’s many areas.”
The old Book held nothing back in his answer: “The records note that while the city endured unscathed, survivors numbered pitifully few, their thoughts empty, as though in an instant, time had reshaped the world—folks bereft of kin, clueless to the catastrophe that struck.”
“So Observation City rose from Dwarf Elves and the Human Clan together—no surprise the teleportation array came from Dwarf Elf hands. Looks like we’ve nailed down the final piece.”
Leo Ray rubbed his chin lightly, nodding in contemplation.
Yet that misses the heart of it; what truly nags is that these folks here plainly weathered the Era of Blankness too.
The key difference stands out: this place, city and Silver Fire Kingdom alike, didn’t fully collapse but pressed on, while back home, the Silver Fire Kingdom wiped out entirely, lost to history’s sands.
“This points to a parallel world for sure, with the split likely right at the Era of Blankness.”
“Did the Era of Blankness spawn these parallel realms? Was it a fluke or the prompting voice’s scheme? And what drove him to it?”
“To grasp why this happened, unraveling the Era of Blankness’s secrets seems crucial.”
With that in mind, Leo Ray steadied himself and spoke anew: “City Lord, could you share more on this world’s history?”
