Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2719: 1493: The Depths of the Cave (Part 2)
Kara inclined her head toward Leo Ray again and recapped, “This covers the full chain of occurrences.”
“Human Clan… ahem, Your Majesty, it’s truly feasible to send magical messages via the teleportation array.”
Moli, making sure to honor Leo Ray’s status, chose a formal address on purpose while giving a small nod, “Even when one side of the array has ceased functioning, the opposite side might still be active; in theory, sending signals one way is entirely doable.”
“I share that view.”
Leo Ray gave a nod, his eyebrows knitting together a bit, “The crucial point lies in the source of this magical message. Was it sent on purpose or by chance? And if deliberate, what exactly was the sender aiming to communicate?”
“Your Majesty has hit the nail on the head; that spot is a forsaken and obscure ruin, so how could a magical message come from there?”
Old Nick widened his eyes and burst out, “Could it possibly be… it’s…”
At those words, Leo Ray simply placed a hand on Old Nick’s shoulder, cutting him off before he could finish. Obviously, Old Nick meant to mention “Corrosion,” yet for him, it represented an immense ordeal.
“Regardless of the truth, unraveling this is our immediate priority.”
Leo Ray steered the discussion and addressed the group, “Be it deliberate or random, friendly or threatening, no obstacle will stop our advance.”
Leo Ray’s declaration sparked a surge of energy in the listeners, who all nodded firmly in unison.
While conversing, the team had traversed the fortress and entered the valley.
Following Kara’s lead, Leo Ray soon stood before the cave’s opening.
The site brimmed with vigilant guards, armed warriors posted all around; a vast encampment had been set up nearby, encircling the entryway completely.
A massive stone barrier stood at the cave’s threshold, sealing it shut.
Witnessing this, Leo Ray let out a soft sigh.
Not just the reserve troops in his forces, but even the influences from the Outer Region, and the mighty Giant Dragon itself, proved powerless against “Corrosion,” a peril he had vividly described to all.
Yet the warriors displayed no trace of dread, their expressions brimming with unyielding grit, aware that any abrupt danger might only allow them moments to hold the line.
In the midst of his sigh, Leo Ray’s eyes landed on Old Nick close by. Confronting echoes of his haunted history, Old Nick shivered faintly, but resolve etched deeply into his weathered features.
“With such valiant fighters at my back, how could I possibly falter now?”
With that resolve burning inside, Leo Ray directed the elite escorts to ready themselves for combat, then gave Kara a nod, “Very well, let’s unseal it.”
“At your order, Your Majesty.”
Kara saluted with a hand over her heart and, together with the sentries, swung the door wide, exposing the shadowy cavern entrance to the group.
“This path holds countless unknowns; a select few of you will join me within, but the rest of the troops remain outside.”
Leo Ray acknowledged Asher Porter, Kara, Calvin, and Old Nick with a nod before striding ahead into the cave, accompanied by Moli and the sturdy guards.
Once inside, Leo Ray scanned the surroundings more closely.
The interior resembled a typical cavern in most ways; now and then, traces of Demon Beast tracks or dangling spider silk appeared, yet an eerie chill permeated the whole space, making the air far cooler than beyond.
Echoes of their boots resounded through the tunnel, and soon they arrived at the cavern’s innermost chamber.
The area opened up broadly, lit by brilliant magical orbs that chased away the gloom, fostering a false sense of security, save for a lingering foul odor from past Demon Beast inhabitants.
“Your Majesty, here’s where the teleportation array once stood, doubling as the Demon Beasts’ hoard.”
Old Nick, positioned near a doorway, addressed Leo Ray, his tone quivering just a touch.
“Show me.”
Leo Ray motioned for Old Nick to step back and led the way into the storage chamber first.
A quick survey revealed nothing out of the ordinary, aside from the distant wall where intricate magical runes etched the ground, the surrounding floor polished spotless.
“It’s undoubtedly a teleportation array long since forgotten!”
Moli’s small frame darted forward, reaching the room’s end in a blink, crouching to examine it closely.
Observing her, Kara, Calvin, and the rest traded looks. Moli had pulled her hood low once more, her voice turning raspy, concealing her identity from all. Still, her lightning-fast moves hinted at mastery over spatial arts.
One had to admit, His Majesty’s followers overflowed with concealed prowess.
That said, this relic from antiquity was a puzzle of the bygone era, complex and baffling, enough to induce vertigo with prolonged study. Was revival truly within reach?
As the notion struck them, Moli lifted her gaze and informed Leo Ray, “Your Majesty of the Humans, my earlier assessment holds true. This end of the teleportation array lies utterly inert, but the far side retains partial operation. Direct travel remains impossible, yet channeling energy pulses such as magical communications is still within its grasp!”
“Outstanding, is it possible to revive this end?”
Leo Ray inclined his head faintly and inquired.
“A simple matter; though aged, this array amounts to child’s play from the old days—cracking it poses no challenge.”
The figure in the pink hood shot a look at Broy and Konet, the Dwarf Elf specialists among the escorts, her voice brimming with assurance.
“Eh? This marks the ancient legacy of our forebears?”
Broy rubbed his head, utterly taken aback.
Leo Ray, meanwhile, nodded thoughtfully. After all, the Dwarf Elf’s Eternal Night Magic Box had turned up close to Viennas City, within another Dwarf Elf ruin.
Thus, encountering yet another Dwarf Elf site here came as no shock.
Just then, as the idea flickered in Leo Ray’s thoughts, Moli traced a series of effortless gestures across the floor. A potent surge of energy erupted, summoning a rippling gray portal that gleamed before the assembly.
At once, the portal’s watery gray shimmer spread waves of light throughout the cavern, leaving all onlookers in awe.
Kara and her companions, in particular, stared with mouths agape in wonder. They hadn’t imagined this relic of old could be unlocked in such record time!
Even the Grey Elder standing with Kara and the group mirrored their stunned admiration.
Back then, the Mercenary Guild had poured every ounce of expertise into the effort, only to draw a blank without so much as a hint. Yet this hooded stranger in pink proved astonishingly capable, their wisdom vast and deep.
Impressive though it was, all gazes soon returned to Leo Ray, alight with eager anticipation.
Even a master of such enigmatic skill paved the way for His Majesty, underscoring yet again his unparalleled greatness!
“Heh, aren’t I something?”
Sensing the focused stares, Moli planted her hands on her waist, her tone dripping with self-satisfaction.
“Incredible, truly incredible—keep up the good work.”
Leo Ray offered a gentle smile, turning his palm to unveil Rolanddel, then spoke to the group, “Now, let’s reveal all the secrets.”
With those words, Leo Ray advanced through the teleportation gate, the others clustering close behind.
