Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2684 1475: A Startling Reason (Part 2)

Previously on Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong...
In the shadowy depths of the Bone Hall, the Witch Demon Leader cackles as he observes Leo Ray and his bewildered companions through a crystal ball, unaware that the city's spaces have been duplicated under the massive shadow's supreme power. Mocking their ignorance, the Leader anticipates their extermination by manipulated foes and vows a torturous fate for the Human Emperor, while the shadow—now radiating dense eerie aura—reassures its dominance, recalling past bewitchments of Chosen Sons of God. Chastised for impatience, the Leader grovels before the shadow's majestic pressure, which then reveals hints of their supreme deity's survival beyond the Battle of Winter's Chill, heralding an impending restoration of chaotic power as the eerie aura surges forth.

...

Outside the hall where our powerhouses assembled, the bizarre energy intensified more and more, while the warriors from the two alliances, eyes filled with bloodshot rage, clutched their swords that shimmered with frosty menace, inching ever closer to our own forces.

"Everyone, what do we do now?"

Right in the heart of the surrounded group, Broy was soaked in perspiration, addressing Grey Elder, Yonir, Shuert, Crisis, Fanny, and the rest.

Right then, the powerhouses under Leo Ray's command—from the Human Clan, Dwarf Elf, Flower Fairy, Wood Fairy, Troll, and beyond—found themselves completely encircled by the forces of the two alliances.

In both quantity and power, we stood at a total disadvantage.

"They seem caught in some mental enchantment."

Shuert's wooden expression brimmed with gravity as he scanned the chaos around them and declared, "Without breaking this hold, we're nothing but foes in their sight."

"Yet the one behind this must lurk far inside the massive city—how could we possibly reach to undo it?"

Crisis clenched her magic staff hard, quietly directing her team to ready defenses, her brow furrowed as she added, "It's utterly hopeless!"

"With the Lord vanished for now, we absolutely can't go down here no matter what!"

Grey Elder's face showed unyielding resolve, and as he eyed the confused Loris and Sina, he bellowed, "Leaders, this is the enemy's plot—halt your people at once!"

"Exactly, a plot—this is nothing but a scheme! Why would we ever strike at those loyal to Your Majesty of the Humans?"

Hearing that, Sina's face twisted in distress; deep down she knew the truth, yet her body refused to obey, frozen in place.

As a warrior built for raw strength, Loris appeared hit even harder, lost in a stupor, deaf to all noise, his gaze empty and detached.

Anyone sensing that odd presence could tell it clung thickest around the pair, forming an unseen shield that severed their ties to the world beyond.

"Leader, please rein them in!"

Clan Leader Lannis, face etched with worry, implored Sina.

Though touched by the effect himself, he clung to his senses thanks to his close bonds with Leo Ray—and the fact that Leo Ray had rescued his daughter, the Masked Man Emily.

Desperate, Lannis glanced about once more, his anxiety surging as he cried, "Your Majesty of the Humans, where are you?"

But even before Lannis finished speaking, a surge of mighty pressure erupted, and the blood-eyed warriors of the two alliances launched their assault on our forces from every angle!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

In the roar of thunderous clashes from spells and strikes, as the swirling dust from the blasts cleared, a solid protective shield had sprung up around our group, enveloping everyone.

Wood Fairies excelled at weaving all sorts of barriers, and despite the rush, erecting a quick shield proved no challenge.

Still, after fending off the initial barrage, the barrier's glow had faded noticeably, and the Wood Fairies powering it panted weakly, some teetering on exhaustion—obvious they couldn't hold out much longer.

Fortunately, our other Mages pitched in too, combining efforts to just barely repel the onslaught.

Without a second to recover, the following assault hammered down like a tempest, shaking the ground violently.

"Hold back—what's gotten into you all?"

As tensions boiled over, the Broken Valley Alliance's warriors could no longer stand idle; led by their captains, they surged ahead to intervene, yet the frenzied attackers from the two alliances refused to yield, some even wheeling on the Broken Valley forces, igniting brutal skirmishes.

By now, the once-cohesive alliance of our side had descended into total disarray, shouts of combat echoing far and wide, murderous aura thickening the air.

...

At the same spot within Forest White Giant City, Leo Ray, the pink-hooded man, Frank, old Gary, and Stone Spirits like Youyou remained oblivious to the noise, still piecing together what was happening.

"Your Excellency, with no signs of your spatial disruption lingering here, might the foe have secretly mended it and whisked our powerhouses away to somewhere else by force?"

After repeated failures to reach his team via Mind Talk, Leo Ray mulled it over briefly before questioning the pink-hooded man.

"I suspected as much initially, but their methods seem overly advanced—even a seventh-stage powerhouse shouldn't mend the spatial chaos from my crystal crystals so swiftly."

The pink-hooded man answered with a hint of doubt, "If they did, that foe's power would be downright frightening."

"No way—if they were that mighty, why let us smash the array core?"

Youyou shook its head resolutely and stated, "Something else must explain this!"

"Fair point, and since they're hiding in shadows with all these tricks, they likely lack the might to crush us outright; no call for deceptions otherwise."

Leo Ray swept his gaze over the nearby bones, nodding thoughtfully as he remarked, "From this angle, the enemy's aim boils down to one thing: scattering our fighting strength."

"But how exactly did they pull this off? Where are our powerhouses now?"

Old Gary's tone dripped with bewilderment, circling back to the core puzzle.

"So, grasping their technique is key to unraveling our mess, isn't it?"

Leo Ray's thoughts raced again, and moments later, struck by an idea, he turned to the pink-hooded man: "Since they haven't fixed the spatial disruption, your handiwork persists—that's our clue!"

"Lord, yet the marks of spatial disturbance are plainly gone."

Xiao Jing cocked its head, evidently puzzled by Leo Ray's implication.

"Not quite—the disruption endures, just not in this spot of ours."

Leo Ray gave Xiao Jing a nod and elaborated: "More exactly, our area never faced a second disruption from the start!"

"Human youth, are you saying the city's space splits into dual layers?"

The pink-hooded man caught on quickest, enlightenment dawning as he burst out, "That would fit—deploying half-step space master arts, they could fold the interior into twin matching realms!"

"So the space we stepped into isn't the true city core?"

Old Gary's voice carried a flash of insight too, as he exclaimed, "And our powerhouses wait in the real core space for us?"

"That's the sole explanation."

The pink-hooded man dipped his head in confirmation, "The fiend's tactics are devilishly clever, leaving us blindsided."

"And their motive here is to split our forces?"

Xiao Jing gnashed its silver teeth, brow creased in frustration, "Such sly cunning."

"Worse, I suspect their arsenal goes beyond this—recall the elaborate illusions they wove, likely to stall us."

A few beads of chill sweat trickled down Leo Ray's brow unbidden as he continued.

"Stalling us? In theory, our group's might falls short of the main body, so if stalling's the game, they'd target the larger force first and hit us hard."

The pink-hooded man reflected briefly, then gasped in realization, "Ah, I see! Are they enchanting those powerhouses?"
