Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2666: 1466: Desperation and Counterattack (Part 2)

Previously on Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong...
The battlefield, enveloped in dense black mist, saw Leo Ray's forces under relentless assault from the Undead Army, their Absolute Defense Barrier flickering as warriors' mana drained rapidly. With the defensive line on the brink of collapse and retreat seeming inevitable, Sina and Loris turned to Leo Ray in desperation, only for Old Gary to propose a daring counterattack plan requiring the young emperor's unique abilities. Though it risked total annihilation, the leaders committed fully, scattering to implement it amid the enemy's unyielding barrage, while the Witch Demon forces jeered from the walls of Skeletal Capital City, puzzled by the humans' refusal to flee.

“Don't worry, Lord Leader. In my humble view, the enemies are trapped like turtles in a jar, clueless and terrified out of their wits right now.”

The skeletal features of the gray-robed Witch Demon twisted with wild glee as he cackled, “This is all due to Lord Leader's brilliant tactics in battle. Soon, they'll be transformed into undead one after another.”

At the gray-robed Witch Demon's remarks, the nearby Witch Demons echoed their support, filling the air above the Forest White Giant City's walls with eerie chuckles and triumphant cheers.

“No, something feels wrong here.”

After a brief moment of thought, the Witch Demon Leader ordered the gray-robed Witch Demon, “Lead seventy percent of the city's garrison forces outside to aid the Undead Army in surrounding those pests. Ensure they're wiped out swiftly. Reduce them all to ashes!”

“As you command, Lord Leader.”

Though the gray-robed Witch Demon doubted our forces could endure much longer, he swiftly obeyed the order, directing a massive group of Witch Demons and Dead Spirits to charge out from the city.

Soon enough, with the reinforcements under the gray-robed Witch Demon merging into the encirclement, and more Undead Army units pouring in from every side, the onslaught against us intensified dramatically.

The strain on our Absolute Defense Barrier mounted at an alarming rate; despite nearly every Magic-type powerhouse pouring in their energy, hairline fractures started appearing on the Barrier Wall and spread like wildfire.

In the face of such relentless and overwhelming barrages, the moment the Absolute Defense Barrier gave way, our doom would be sealed.

“Everyone, give it everything you've got—we can't go down here!”

Sina positioned herself at the front of the Energy-Supplying Array, infusing mana into it as she yelled, “The Human Emperor is fighting to turn the tide for us, so we have to hold out long enough for him!”

Sina's call ignited a spark in the magicians' hearts; resolve hardened their expressions, and through their collective push, several of the tiny fissures in the Barrier Wall began to mend.

Yet this brief respite didn't hold. When multiple Water Elf powerhouses succumbed to mana exhaustion and fell, the mended parts of the Barrier Wall fractured once more at a terrifying pace, heaping enormous stress on the rest.

As the burden of defense kept escalating, mana drained away at a frantic speed, and before long, additional magic users toppled over with ashen faces—some even coughing up blood from the brutal magical rebound.

All the while, the physical-type powerhouses could merely observe in helpless frustration as the fissures overhead widened unchecked. While tending to the downed magicians, they readied themselves for a final, do-or-die stand, steeling their wills for the end.

Deep down, everyone understood that the Barrier Wall's fall meant total annihilation for us.

Even as they tried to suppress it, despair crept through our ranks like a shadow, mirroring the fractures spiderwebbing across the Barrier Wall.

“Hahaha, those bugs are on the verge of breaking!”

Amid the teeming Undead Army ranks, the gray-robed Witch Demon's emaciated visage contorted into a savage smile as he bellowed with manic laughter, “Save that Human Race Emperor for me—I want him as my personal thrall!”

“Hehe, I'll claim that Snake Chief from the Desert Alliance!”

“I'll settle for that young lion from the Rainforest Fortress Alliance, haha!”

“Stay out of my way later; I've been dying to convert that Water Elf leader into an undead!”

“Word is there's a Queen of Coldflame City next to the Human Emperor—I'm eyeing her, so you lot can divvy up the scraps!”

These words stirred eager excitement among the other Witch Demons, their features lighting up with mischievous anticipation.

Unrestrained, the Witch Demons unleashed their full arsenal of attacks while directing their undead hordes to charge ferociously—some even lashed out with kicks and stomps amid their frenzied guffaws.

“Bugs will always be bugs; looks like even I, the leader, worried too much.”

From atop the Forest White Giant City's battlements, the Witch Demon Leader gazed scornfully at our crumbling defensive line below, then pivoted to head back into the city.

Yet right as the Witch Demon Leader stepped forward, a surge of golden energy erupted from our fog-enshrouded position, exploding outward and sweeping across the area in a flash, standing out starkly against the choking black mist.

That golden energy wave surged with blinding speed, hurtling past the horizon in an instant while continuing to pulse.

“What happened? What was that thing?”

This sudden twist left the Witch Demons scrambling to assess, but they detected no damage to themselves.

“Heh, it must be the Human Race Emperor's desperate ploy!”

The gray-robed Witch Demon scoffed with utter contempt twisting his features, “Press the assault—pulverize those bugs to powdered bones!”

With that, the other Witch Demons regained their composure and zeroed in again on our army, teetering on the brink of total rout.

However, just as the Witch Demons geared up for another savage barrage, they noticed countless dead spirits nearby breaking free from their command without warning, their bony frames now etched with glowing golden runes.
