Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2643: 1455: Doubts and Confessions

Leo Ray and Loris analyzed the precarious balance of power in the Outer Region, suspecting a second-tier force might be backing the Witch Demon to disrupt alliances like the Rainforest Fortress and Desert Alliance. They expressed concerns over potential invasions during an assault on the Witch Demon's miasma-shrouded Land of Howling, where only Tier 5 and above could enter, and vulnerabilities in their long borders and teleportation networks. Despite these worries, including the ongoing disappearance of Dana, Davis, and others, they committed to gathering Tier 5 powerhouses and reorganizing forces for the imminent confrontation. Leo Ray bound Fanny and the Flower Fairies with a contract, leaving defenses in Ice Stone City, and just as preparations concluded, the long-awaited Frank arrived, pledging his allegiance to the Human Clan's cause against the Witch Demon.

Once Frank had wrapped up his words, a trio of terrain dragons, encased in thick armor, swooped in from above, crashing down with a mighty boom that whipped up a swirling haze of dirt.

The dust gradually cleared, and that's when Leo Ray spotted them.

These turned out to be three formidable Tier 5 undead beasts, completely shrouded in their metallic coverings, which made identifying them a real challenge.

It wasn't unexpected, since nearly every faction—from the Human Clan to the races beyond the Outer Region—held a deep wariness toward necromancy, blind to the clear divide between Controller of Humans and Controller of Beasts.

The mere sight or whisper of undead creatures always sparked fear and alarm; if not, in the tales of the Nine Dragon-slaying Heroes, Frank's role wouldn't have been masked as that of a Summoning Magician.

That's why Frank concealed their nature to dodge any needless complications.

Naturally, Leo Ray, having tamed Lina and earned Nolan's loyalty, fully grasped the vast gap between the two types.

For the typical necromancer—be it witch demons or nightmare knights—they all relied on outlawed arts as Controllers of Humans, drawing power from terror and hopelessness through savage, gore-soaked rituals that needed no explanation.

In contrast, Frank, Lina, and Nolan, operating as Controllers of Beasts, simply tapped into the raw fury and untamed spirit of ferocious demon beasts, steering clear of any forbidden arts and showing a world of difference.

Leo Ray's eyes scanned across the three terrain dragons, his gaze stretching wide in surprise.

Riding atop each massive back was a recognizable face; it was the vanished Dana, Davis, and yet another mighty Dragonborn warrior!

"Your Majesty, in the midst of pursuing the witch demon, I stumbled upon a hidden dungeon in a forsaken ancient ruin, where these folks were held captive, and the witch demon planned to wipe them out. Knowing of Your Majesty's strong ties to the Dragonborn, even in the heat of fierce combat, I went ahead and rescued them to bring back."

Frank dipped into a deep bow with respect, before adding more.

"Your Majesty, that's right—it's Her Majesty the Queen, His Royal Highness the Prince, and the Captain of the Personal Guard!"

At Leo Ray's signal, the thrilled Dragonborn chiefs, including Nal, rushed forward, helping them dismount one by one, and shared the news with bubbling excitement to Leo Ray.

"I've got all the top-level healing treasures ready; hurry and get them inside the walls for care."

Leo Ray gave a nod to Nal and the rest, then turned his eyes to Frank once more, expressing thanks: "Old sir, you've truly lent me invaluable aid; these are key allies of mine, no doubt."

"Serving Your Majesty is nothing short of my greatest privilege."

Frank held his bowed stance, replying: "Next to the monumental feats Your Majesty has achieved for the Human Clan, my efforts pale in comparison."

"In the end, thanks to the old sir's support, I'll gain strength like a tiger sprouting wings."

Leo Ray steadied his mind and inclined his head toward the veteran dragon-slaying legend, stating: "Matters are urgent, so let's head inside the city to talk it over."

With those words, Leo Ray guided the group into Ice Stone City, where the massive doors slammed closed behind them. Right away, the whole settlement positioned itself along the border of a zone swallowed by dark vapors, right on the outskirts of the witch demon's Land of Howling—and also the spot set for linking up with the two partner armies.

Everywhere the gaze stretched, a thick shroud of black mist choked the sky, its core lost to sight, ringed by desolate branches and bleached bones, utterly devoid of life, like the apocalypse had crashed down.

"The zone ruled by this witch demon is truly a place of haunting dread."

Leo Ray perched on the soaring ramparts of Ice Stone City, staring into the void-like endless gloom ahead, his forehead creasing deeply.

Even though they stood a few kilometers from the black mist's grip, from this far off, Leo Ray still sensed a bone-chilling wave of death aura creeping near, filling him with a profound sense of dread.

"Forgive me, Lord, after the brutal clash last night, while the Absolute Defense Barrier and Teleportation features of Ice Stone City are back online, others such as purification and isolation remain offline, which must be bothering the Lord."

Noticing Leo Ray's knitted brows, Frost bowed low at once, his face tinged with regret.

"You've got it wrong; I'm pondering the whole region, not just the feelings hitting us right now."

Leo Ray softly touched Frost's head, grinning: "From this range, it won't touch anyone inside the city below Tier 5, right?"

"Lord, this spot is secure; the miasma won't reach us, and the quick-scan barrier we've set up shows nothing out of place."

Frost bobbed his head firmly, a touch of sorrow crossing his ashen features: "Regrettably, with so many barriers still down, Ice Stone City can't push straight into the heart of the foe's turf just yet."

"That's fine; Ice Stone City offers great ease, but we need to gear up for times without it too. This makes for the perfect chance to sharpen our edge."

Leo Ray flashed a faint smile, flicking his hand in a casual motion.

Noting that the troops from the two alliance partners hadn't shown up yet, Leo Ray faced Frank anew, offering a full sixth-tier gear set along with a handful of sixth-tier aces, and said with a grin: "Old sir, your aid this round has been massive; take these as my thanks."

"Your Majesty, this is far too generous."

Newly arrived in Ice Stone City, Frank was already stunned by the splendor of the Land of Divine Favor, and now faced with such a haul of Divine Weapons—items rare even for top powers—he waved his hands in a fluster: "I've only just joined Your Majesty's service; these gifts are way too lavish."
