Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2624: 1445: The Prelude to Battle

Leo Ray has successfully secured the support of the Catman Clan, mobilizing a fresh army to rescue Sina. Utilizing the teleportation capabilities of Ice Stone City, the united forces arrived at the Holy Land of Medusa, only to discover that the entrance was concealed by illusions and protected by a newly fortified sand fortress. Despite the lack of heavy siege equipment among the catmen, Leo Ray revealed a massive battery of high-tier Magic Cannons and his elite human magic legions. With the element of surprise on their side, the alliance has launched a full-scale assault to break through the Medusa defenses.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The moment Leo Ray finished speaking, the Magic Cannons lined up along the city battlements unleashed their payload. Having reached full charge, they roared in unison, sending streaks of light howling toward the opposing enemy stronghold.

The thunderous echoes of magical energy filled the dark sky, detonating against the Absolute Defense Barrier that shielded the enemy fortress. The impact looked like a torrential downpour striking the surface of a still lake, creating a terrifying yet magnificent display of raw power.

Watching the relentless wave of magical explosions, even Lannis and the elite warriors of the Catman Clan couldn't hide their astonishment.

It was impossible to deny that the resources and foundation of the Human Emperor far surpassed anything they had previously envisioned.

“Curse it all! What is the meaning of this?”

High upon the opposing fortress wall, a Medusa general with a face full of malice screamed her fury. “Who possesses the gall to launch an assault here? Who dares to interfere with Queen Belinda’s coronation?”

While she shouted, the Medusa general squinted through the billowing plumes of smoke. She was stunned to see a massive, blue-tinted city manifesting before her, its magical aura shimmering rhythmically.

“A blue Land of Divine Favor that feels just like the Shadow Market... could this be that mobile city belonging to the Human Emperor mentioned in the reports?”

The Medusa general barked orders to her subordinates to pour more energy into the Absolute Defense Barrier. Her eyes burned with a lethal intent as she snarled, “The Grand Army of our Desert Alliance should have already annihilated the Desolate Fortress. For this brat to show his face in the heart of our territory is nothing short of seeking death!”

“So, the boy has found his courage through these wretched traitors.”

Her expression grew even more grim as she spotted the banners of the Desert Catman Clan waving atop Ice Stone City. She let out a cold sneer. “Waste your strength if you wish. Shattering my defenses is no simple task. Once our Desert Grand Army finishes crushing everything in its path, none of you will have a grave to lie in!”

As the Medusa general stopped speaking, the enemy's Absolute Defense Barrier—which had momentarily flickered under the bombardment—surged back to full strength. It stood as firm and immovable as a massive mountain peak.

“This is bad. That Absolute Defense Barrier wasn't a rushed construction; they used Barrier Crystals to deploy it, making it far sturdier than the previous ones!”

On the ramparts of Ice Stone City, the Catman Grand Elder’s eyes went wide as he analyzed the situation. He shouted, “Look at their walls; there are hardly any soldiers visible. They must all be stationed below to fuel the Absolute Defense Barrier! They aren't even trying to return fire; they're just hiding like rats!”

“It goes deeper than that. That barrier isn't being maintained by mere Tier 3 Legions. There is at least one Tier 4 Legion providing reinforcement.”

Lannis’s expression turned grave after he carefully surveyed the battlefield.

“But the Clan Leader said Belinda hasn't fully mastered the Medusa heritage yet,” the female elder remarked, her confusion turning into shock. “She shouldn't have the authority to command Tier 4 units, and the main alliance forces are still tied up at the Desolate Fortress...”

Her eyes widened further. “Could the Witch Demon Army be helping them from the shadows?!”

“That is the only logical conclusion.”

Lannis nodded grimly, confirming her fears. “It appears we miscalculated the depth of the enemy’s forces.”

Hearing the exchange between Lannis and the elder, the surrounding Catman generals and elders grew somber, their gazes fixed intensely on the gridlock ahead.

One had to remember that Medusas were born mages, making them exceptionally lethal opponents. Conversely, their own side was composed of Tier 4 physical combatants who lacked the expertise to operate the Magic Cannons.

With the secret support of the Witch Demons, the enemy had created a nearly impenetrable wall.

Standing near the Catman elite, Leo Ray, along with Elder Bing and Frost, had reached the same conclusion. The enemy’s Absolute Defense Barrier was proving to be much more resilient than they had anticipated.

To make matters worse, the intensity of the Magic Cannon fire began to wane after the initial volley due to limited mana reserves. Even with the Catman archers and javelin throwers adding their physical projectiles to the mix, the enemy's shield remained completely unshaken.

“I didn't expect their defense to be this stubborn.”

Leo Ray’s brow furrowed as he took a slow, deep breath.

During that first barrage, he and Elder Bing had used dozens of Tier 6 Attack Scrolls to bolster the strike. Yet, even that massive expenditure of power failed to leave so much as a crack on the barrier, proving its incredible durability.

Furthermore, his stock of Demon Energy Luminous Crystals was low. Most had been left behind at the fortresses currently facing the main enemy host. This meant the Magic Cannons couldn't fire continuously and had to be recharged slowly, crippling their offensive momentum.

The most pressing issue was that if their strongest opening move couldn't break the line, the subsequent, weaker attacks certainly wouldn't succeed.

“Your Majesty of the Humans, if a new strategy isn't found quickly, then perhaps...”

Lannis turned toward Leo Ray. He didn't finish the thought, but the implication was obvious.

If they remained stalled here, saving Sina would become a lost cause. Worse, their location would be revealed, giving the enemy the confidence to launch a full-scale assault on both the Desolate Fortress and Fortress Resoundingly.
