Chapter 1427: After Advancing and the Mutation (2)
A faint smile played on Leo Ray’s lips as he gave Ariel Watson a few final instructions before severing the mind talk.
Shortly after, Leo Ray reached out to the territory’s manager, Roger Smith. Once he confirmed that all operations were running smoothly, he resumed his cross-legged position on the floor and placed the second “Morning Star” into his mouth.
As Leo Ray had previously noted, his physical form had undergone another transformation following his successful advancement, now bolstered by the assistance of the Physical Energy Vortex.
Consequently, even though the violent medicinal energy remained incredibly fierce, it was ultimately forced to submit. Leo Ray channeled the power entirely into his Magic Energy Vortex, utilizing every ounce of his will to compress the energy until it was fully integrated into his own reserves.
As the minutes ticked by, the Magic Energy Vortex deepened until a pale blue Magic Energy Crystal began to crystallize. Suddenly, the same explosive, chaotic scenes that had occurred during his previous breakthrough erupted once more.
This was expected; since the magical energy particles drifting in the atmosphere were distinct from physical energy particles, Leo Ray had to endure a period of synchronization and mastery.
Even though his previous experience and various advantages made him feel more composed this time, the task of using his spiritual power to suppress and contain the surging energy particles remained an exhausting necessity.
Eventually, the ordeal concluded. When Leo Ray’s eyes snapped open, the dense mana that had radiated outward was effortlessly pulled back into the Magic Energy Crystal.
“So this is what it feels like to be a dual Tier 6 expert? The magical energy particles that were once invisible are now startlingly clear. It feels as though the entire world is within my grasp.”
A wave of pure exhilaration washed over Leo Ray as he inhaled deeply.
He had taken a monumental leap forward, officially crossing the threshold to become a dual Tier 6 expert!
While riding this wave of excitement, Leo Ray casually summoned his attribute panel.

“Impressive. Seeing such a spike in power is truly satisfying. And there’s a new ‘Honor’ section at the bottom? I didn’t notice that before.”
“I can only imagine how many times the ‘Lord Arena’ has taken place. There must be countless Lords who have claimed championships; I wonder if a global ranking system will be introduced later?”
With those thoughts, Leo Ray dismissed the attribute screen.
“However, those details aren't my priority right now. What matters is that my Cultivation session took a significant amount of time. I need to know if the strategic situation has shifted while I was occupied.”
He rose and exited the Cultivation Room, re-establishing contact with Ariel Watson as he walked.
Ariel Watson answered the call immediately, though her tone lacked its usual calm and was noticeably strained.
From their conversation, Leo Ray realized that it was now the following morning. More importantly, Ariel shared a piece of shocking news.
“Ariel, are you telling me that Dana and Davis have vanished at the same time?”
Leo Ray’s brow furrowed as he sought confirmation.
“Yes, my Lord. It happened roughly thirty minutes ago. According to an urgent report from Dragonborn General Nal, the Dragonborn Queen and the Winged Prince disappeared alongside over a hundred Imperial Guards while they were surveying the border stronghold at daybreak.”
Ariel Watson’s voice grew even more grave: “The entire border is currently under lockdown, and our leadership is racing to Lion Castle to convene an emergency council!”
“Understood. I’m heading there now. We will discuss the details in person.”
Leo Ray gave a short nod and ended the mental link.
He stopped by the Lord’s Office first to finish his daily recruitment tasks.
As he worked, he couldn't stop his mind from racing. The disappearance of Dana and Davis was a massive blow, as they represented the peak of their faction's authority.
The fact that they had both vanished in the volatile border lands suggested a very calculated and disturbing cause.
While Dana was still recovering from her wounds at Tier 6, Davis was a fully realized Tier 6 powerhouse with various enhanced assets. For them to disappear along with the elite Imperial Guard without even sending out a distress signal was something no ordinary foe could achieve.
As the leader of his faction, Leo Ray knew a thorough investigation was mandatory. If this wasn't resolved, it would shatter morale and destabilize their foundations, ruining any plans for future expeditions into the Outer Region.
Furthermore, Davis and the other Dragonborn had been invaluable allies in the Lord Arena and on the battlefield. Leo Ray refused to abandon them.
“I had hoped to settle things with minimal bloodshed, but if the opposition is behind this, it’s an unpardonable act of war. I won't be showing any mercy.”
“I haven't backed down since the day I arrived in this world, and I don't plan to start now.”
After finishing his tasks, Leo Ray acknowledged Old Steward Warren Dexter, grabbed a quick meal, and left the territory, traveling through Ice Stone City to reach Lion Castle.
Stepping into the bright, expansive King’s Hall, Leo Ray took in the scene.
The hall was packed with experts from the Human Clan and various other races, and the air was thick with tension.
Thanks to the Teleportation Gate in Lion Castle being linked to the Teleportation Station, the experts from the Outer Region had been able to assemble quickly.
The moment Leo Ray appeared, the crowd surged toward him, offering respectful salutes. When they sensed that he had successfully advanced in such a short window, a wave of enthusiasm swept through the room, temporarily lifting the heavy atmosphere.
Still, a lingering sense of dread remained hidden beneath the surface.
Once the formalities were over, the Dragonborn experts—led by Nal—practically threw themselves at Leo Ray’s feet, their draconic features masks of desperation.
“Your Majesty of the Humans, we beg you! Please rescue our Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince!”
Nal and his comrades knelt, their eyes brimming with emotion.
“Everyone, please, stand up. Resolving this crisis is my top priority.”
Leo Ray personally helped Nal and the others to their feet, nodding solemnly. “Have faith. I will see that justice is done. Since someone has dared to strike at us, I will make them pay a price they cannot imagine, regardless of who they are.”
With that, Leo Ray gestured for the leaders to take their seats at the central strategy table. He looked at Nal and said, “Now, tell me every detail of what occurred.”
