Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100 Chapter 1390 Useless Inheritances

Right at the moment when Max prepared to set off the dark sphere's explosion, a sudden rush of energy exploded from its core. Jonathan burst out of the black flames, his body surging forward like it had been reborn in fire, and he charged at Max with the savage might of a shadowy phoenix.
Dark flames wrapped tightly around Jonathan's form, while a duo of phoenix wings materialized on his back, unleashing a heavy, dominating presence as he narrowed the gap and drove a fist directly toward Max.
Surprise flashed in Max's eyes. He hadn't expected Jonathan to escape the Absolute Reaper so effortlessly, much less launch a counterstrike right away. Even so, Max reacted quickly. Tapping into the Flame Tyrant Inheritance, intense fires flared from his right arm and shaped into a huge fiery glove as he thrust his punch ahead to clash straight into Jonathan's assault.
A booming blast reverberated through the arena when their fists smashed together. To Max's shock, the force pushed him back, his frame skidding across the ground for five firm steps until he finally halted.
Things didn't feel right. As Max regained his footing, his forehead creased in puzzlement. The moves from his flame inheritance seemed oddly feeble, much less potent than expected, and that feeling disturbed him greatly.
His Absolute Reaper sphere had been broken apart without effort, and even the strike fueled by the Flame Tyrant Inheritance had been overpowered. This couldn't just be chance, but Max couldn't yet pinpoint the cause.
What Max didn't realize was that the three inheritances he'd gained in Obsidian Dragon City were never meant to shine as top-tier skills in the Divine Realm. They were crafted for the mortal realm, mighty in that domain but inherently restricted against real Divine Realm prodigies.
Lucia had picked up those inheritances mainly to expand her knowledge, chasing variety and insight over raw power, which guided her to excel in numerous arts suited for lesser realms.
Jonathan, however, stood as an eighth level Rebirth Realm prodigy who clearly wielded inheritance arts from the Dark Phoenix Clan, ones tailored exactly for the Divine Realm.
This core disparity made Max's flame inheritance skills feel held down and useless, hitting him with the uneasy truth that his typical edges weren't sufficient anymore in this fight.
High above, Lady Virelia observed the clash with a steady face, but her mind raced with keen insight. She understood that without hidden tricks beyond what Max had revealed, this fight would surely conclude with his loss, since the divide between mortal realm arts and genuine Divine Realm inheritances couldn't be crossed by skill alone.
"I have never seen any disciple of the Black Dragon Palace use those inheritance techniques," Jonathan stated evenly, a subtle grin on his face as he eyed Max with steady assurance. "Either those techniques are inherently weak, or you must have learned them in the mortal worlds."
He halted for a second before going on, his voice shifting to a mildly superior edge. "Techniques from the mortal worlds are only suited for the mortal worlds. Once brought into the Divine Realm, their power becomes insignificant."
"I see," Max answered with a gradual nod, his look pensive instead of upset. "They are indeed from the mortal worlds." In that instant, it all clicked for him. The frailty he'd sensed before wasn't a trick of the mind or an error, but a built-in flaw in those inheritance arts, which were never built for the Divine Realm.
Jonathan grinned once more, obviously pleased by Max's confession. "So tell me, do you have any other trump cards, or is this all you can do?" he inquired lightly. "Because what you have shown so far is far from enough to defeat me."
"You do not need to worry about that," Max responded with a steady grin, his assurance firm. "Just come at me."
"As you wish," Jonathan replied as his dark phoenix wings, made purely of black flames, extended fully and beat with fierce power. In a flash, he rocketed toward Max at a speed beyond imagination, trailing lines of searing black fire. A spear of black flame took shape in his grip, its handle blazing with deep dark fires while the tip shone with a menacing red light, giving off a horrifying aura of ruin.
The instant he closed in on Max, Jonathan unleashed his most powerful move, set on finishing the duel with one crushing hit. "Dark Phoenix Destroyer!" he bellowed as he stabbed the spear ahead with full force, the surrounding air howling from the assault's intensity.
Confronting the approaching thrust, Max pushed his Three Divine Body to its peak, and a white vapor streamed from his frame as his energy exploded outward. Even before the red-tipped spearhead could graze him, a blast of bitter cold suddenly swept forth.
Jonathan's whole body, spear and all, froze in place right away, turned into a still ice sculpture caught in the middle of his action.
Disbelief spread among the watchers. Clan Head Raven's eyes bulged in amazement as she gazed at the iced-over sight. "First a lightning concept at the fifth level, then a flame concept at the fifth level, and now even an ice concept at the fifth level," she whispered, her shock plain. "Just how many concepts has he mastered?"
Max knew full well that the black phoenix flames shielding Jonathan would let the ice hold him for just a handful of seconds at best, but that brief window was plenty.
Without delay, he balled his hand into a tight fist and summoned the pure brute strength of twelve hundred Draconic Essences, while also drawing some of the godly power from the Vein of Origin, the top one of the Seven Divine Veins. The energy rushed into his limb in a wild torrent, and Max hurled his punch out with total resolve.
A massive boom sounded as the hit connected. Jonathan's iced form was flung back, and as he soared through the sky, the frost around him cracked into a thousand pieces, flying apart from the raw power of the strike.
"I am not done yet!" Jonathan shouted as black flames burst from him again, flaring wildly and roughly outlining a dark phoenix. The fierce warmth from his fires made the arena's heat spike, twisting the atmosphere visibly.
He cast his eyes down at Max standing below, and said with forced poise. "You are strong for a mortal, but this is—" His sentence broke off sharply as his eyes flared in panic, for Max's shape had disappeared from the arena.
"How could he vanish like that?" Jonathan wondered in alarm, and what scared him worse was that he couldn't detect Max's energy anymore, as if he'd been wiped from reality.
"Take this!" A shout suddenly came from behind him up in the sky. Jonathan scarcely managed to twist his head before spotting Max, his body cloaked in crackling red lightning, his fist already swinging down at his head.
Max had triggered both Heaven's Wraith and Extreme Speed from the Storm King's Inheritance together, ramping his velocity and punch force to a frightful degree that dwarfed his prior displays.
Yet another ear-shattering blast filled the arena as the fist slammed into Jonathan's face dead on. His body tumbled down like a plummeting star, smashing hard into the surface below.
The arena's ground, built from tough, exotic stones, held firm without a mark, but Jonathan was totally done. He sprawled still on the floor, agony flooding his every limb as the crushing weight of Max's last hit kept him pinned down, unable to get up.
