The crimson aura enveloping Lilly climbed to its utmost height, shining with such ferocity that spirits forged from sheer essence turned their faces aside on reflex, guarding their vision against the blinding splendor.
Crimson brilliance overflowed through the whole Dimension of Spirit, dyeing the heavens and ground in rich scarlet tones, as the atmosphere quivered with a deep vibration that carried an age-old, holy weight. This went beyond simple power spilling out; it marked a core shift unfolding, like the core principles ruling spirits were getting reshaped in that instant.
Suddenly, the piercing light pulled back. The scarlet rays drew inside, breaking apart into myriad specks that melted away into Lilly's form, creating a hush so thick that even the frolicsome spirits halted in total stillness.
As all gradually uncovered their eyes, the view that greeted them sent waves of astonishment surging through every soul there. Blob himself, having seen endless odd events inside the Dimension of Spirit, stood rooted, his face twisted in utter shock.
In the spot once held by the tiny red spirit now rose a human-like shape. Lilly had claimed the mightiest and scarcest shape any spirit could hope for, a shape dreamed of by hordes of spirits yet reached by scarcely any.
Her frame stood fully formed, poised and polished, giving off a born command that outstripped regular spirits by a vast gulf. Fiery dark-red locks tumbled along her back like flowing magma, every thread dancing with soft scarlet fires that shifted as if breathing.
Her gaze blazed with profound ruby glow, sharp and wise, free of the simple purity of a formless spirit and instead holding the insight of a creature made whole from the start.
What left Max most amazed was her features. They mirrored his own more closely than he'd imagined, echoing the same keen lines and steady focus, eased just a touch by a fresh elegance. The likeness stood out plain, as though she sprang truly from his core instead of just shaped by it.
The nearby spirits gazed in wonder and respect, naturally detecting that Lilly had ascended to a level way beyond theirs, a presence fated to rule the heights of spirit life. Right then, it hit everyone there that Lilly's emergence wasn't just uncommon, but a happening that challenged the usual ways of nature.
"This… this… how is this possible!" Blob burst out, his tone packed with astonishment as he gawked at Lilly's changed shape. He stood totally floored, his normal jolly poise broken by the spectacle unfolding.
The vision in front of him broke every bit of spirit knowledge he held. This wasn't merely uncommon; it edged on the unthinkable. For Blob, this stood as more than Lilly's feat—it brought to life a vision he and endless other spirits through the realms had cherished for ages but never really thought possible.
Spirit growth knew just three famed steps. The initial one held aware shapes that grasped things but couldn't talk or ponder deeply. The next was the level Blob had claimed, letting a spirit chat, think straight, and mingle openly with folks. Past that waited the ultimate step, the human-like shape, the fullest and strongest state a spirit could grasp.
This shift counted as nearly impossible, more myth than truth. Blob had shared with Max many times that gaining a human-like body topped his wildest hopes, but even over endless time, he'd stayed far off. Yet Lilly nailed it in just heartbeats, plain as day before him.
"Is this the humanoid form of spirits?" Max questioned at last, his tone steady yet brimming with interest as he eyed Lilly closely.
"Yes, Master," Tian answered with a steady grin. "Lilly sets herself apart from typical spirits. She didn't arise from the wilds but took shape inside the Dimension of Spirit via your blood. After maturing in this realm's flawless core, she effortlessly hit her peak shape. Still, that shape needed your naming to finish, since that sealed her being and fixed her sense of self."
"I see," Max replied, giving a slow nod while taking in Tian's words.
"Father, how do I look? Am I pretty enough?" Lilly piped up out of nowhere, her voice lively and buzzing with thrill as she circled Max, spinning with eagerness like she was flaunting her fresh look. Her steps flowed smooth and real, bursting with delight just at being alive.
Max gave a kind smile and dipped his head. "My Lilly is the prettiest spirit around."
"I knew it!" Lilly cheered with glee, leaping off in pure joy.
Seeing her boundless thrill, Max sensed a soft glow of comfort fill his heart. Lilly's joy and vitality sparked a tender grin on his lips, one that showed both honor and a surprising load of duty he couldn't quite pin down.
"Lilly, can you go back to your usual spirit shape?" Max requested softly while gazing at her.
"I can," Lilly shot back right away. A mild red shine spread over her frame again, much softer this time, and soon her human-like build melted into swirling scarlet rays. As the shine dimmed, her known spirit shape returned, hovering easy in the breeze, her aura peaceful and firm.
"Nice," Max acknowledged with a pleased nod. Relief washed over him true and deep at her seamless switch from human-like to spirit shape. Such command showed her change wasn't shaky or pushed, but woven naturally into who she was.
"Good job, Lilly," Max praised kindly as he geared up to exit the Dimension of Spirit.
"Are you leaving, Father?" Lilly wondered abruptly.
"How did you know?" Max swung to face her, caught off guard.
"Even though I wasn't born like the rest, I sense it," Lilly murmured gently, her look shifting to a light sorrow. "Father doesn't linger in this place for long."
Max grinned at her remark, a faint twinge hitting his heart. "Don't fret. I've got a method to stick around with you as long as you like."
"Yay!" Lilly whooped with bliss, darting through the air in rapture as her gloom fled in a flash.
"I will be back in a moment," Max promised, and his form winked out of the Dimension of Spirit.
The very next beat found him inside the Dimension of Time. His duplicate, locked in nonstop practice there, eased its eyes open. "Leave it to me," the duplicate stated evenly. Its shape blinked away and popped up straight in the Dimension of Spirit, where it started chatting with Lilly, frolicking alongside her and offering steady companionship.
Out in the actual realm, Max uncovered his eyes and pondered aloud, "I ought to station my clone in the Dimension of Spirit for good right now. That ensures Lilly never faces solitude, and somehow, I'll always stay by her side too."
He bobbed his head to his own thoughts, truly content with the choice.
