Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100 Chapter 1297 An Old Friend?

Both he and Kevin had been pulled into a strange crisis within a secret domain, trapped inside a chamber adorned with cryptic glyphs and mechanisms that defied their understanding.
A blood parasite had been forced into their bodies by an unidentified entity residing in that domain. Vicious and persistent, the organism latched onto their life force, refusing to be dislodged by any conventional technique. Max remembered their desperate struggle to pull it out together, a battle that lasted hours and ended in total failure.
It was only through the body tempering of the Giant Dwarves in the Heavenly Lords Secret Domain that Max eventually purged the parasite. Their divine smithing methods had refined his physique from within, incinerating every trace of impurity.
No matter how stubborn the creature was, it was still an impurity under the scrutiny of that celestial tempering, and thus it was annihilated and cast out. Max had emerged from the ordeal liberated and unscathed.
Kevin, however, had not been blessed with such luck. Lacking that miraculous tempering, the parasite stayed within him, gaining strength as it slowly extended its dark reach. Max realized that Kevin had been enduring this battle in solitude all this time, clinging to the desperate hope of Max’s eventual return.
"Take me to him," Max commanded, moving away from the group without a second thought. Leaving Victor, Seraphina, and the rest behind, he trailed after the elder.
The elder guided Max through the crowded streets bordering the plaza toward a modest inn located near the central district. It was a quiet, unassuming establishment, clearly picked by someone trying to avoid notice. Reaching a narrow corridor, the elder gestured toward a door at the far end.
"He is inside this room," the elder whispered. "I will remain out here."
Max gave a nod. "Stay here and ensure no one enters. Regardless of what occurs, do not alert anyone unless I summon you." His voice was firm, leaving no room for debate.
As the elder moved aside, Max rested his palm on the door and shoved it open.
The room inside was shadowed and heavy with the scent of medicinal herbs. Kevin was pacing back and forth, his face a mask of intense anxiety. With trembling hands and dark veins bulging along his arms, it was obvious the parasite had begun to assert control. He appeared broken, caught between the terror of being turned away and the hope that Max would recognize him.
The moment Max entered, Kevin stopped in his tracks. A look of instant relief washed over him. The dread vanished from his eyes, replaced by the fragile optimism of a man who had waited far too long for a miracle.
"Max, you have to help me!" Kevin shouted as soon as their eyes met. His voice shook as he collapsed to his knees, his desperation spilling out uncontrollably. "I have tried. I have tried every single thing, every text I could find, every healing art suggested to me. But the parasite refuses to leave. I can’t take it anymore. Please, Max. Do something. I am begging you. Do something before it ends my life."
The sight Max beheld was grimmer than he had anticipated. Kevin had grown terribly thin, his complexion pale and gaunt, his breath hitching unevenly. His cultivation, which should have flourished over the years, had stalled painfully at the first level of the Mythic Rank.
Even that rank appeared brittle, his internal energy surging chaotically with every breath. His aura flickered like a dying candle in a gale, showing signs of imminent collapse. The parasite had not just drained his strength; it had slowly consumed his vitality and spiritual foundation, making his continued survival a struggle.
Max watched Kevin in silence for a moment. Memories of their time in that ancient secret domain resurfaced—the horror of being forced to host the blood parasite.
They had stood side by side back then, not as comrades, but as unwilling partners in a shared nightmare. Kevin had once been an adversary who even sought Max’s life. He was a member of the Void Soul Tower, an organization steeped in demonic influence. Because of this, Max had originally felt no duty to assist him once the domain was behind them.
Yet the man before him told a different story. Kevin was no longer the arrogant, cold genius he had once been. He was now a man broken by a burden he was never meant to bear. The parasite was eating him alive, day and night.
Max understood this agony perfectly, having felt that same torment until the tempering of the Giant Dwarves saved him. He knew Kevin's pain—the powerlessness, the dread, and the misery of an alien thing gnawing at his soul.
Max let out a soft sigh. "Sit on the floor," he ordered with a calm, steady voice.
Kevin complied at once, sitting down without a moment's hesitation. He looked up at Max with watery eyes, grasping at the small hope that Max could succeed where countless others had failed.
Max reached out and triggered the White Lotus Ice Essence. The room's temperature dropped instantly. A cloud of white frost erupted from Max’s body, freezing everything in its path. Ice spread across the walls, floors, and ceiling.
The bedsheets turned brittle with frost, and Kevin’s breath became a thick mist. Seconds later, a thin casing of ice completely encased Kevin’s body. His limbs were locked in place, his skin turning a pale blue beneath the glaze, yet Max managed the Ice Essence with surgical precision. The freezing cold never reached Kevin’s heart or internal organs. It only numbed him enough to throw the parasite into a panic.
They stayed in that frozen silence for several heartbeats, the only sound being the faint crackle of ice forming.
Then, it happened.
Suddenly, a small object tore out from Kevin’s right arm. No bigger than a nail, the dark red creature twitched its writhing tendrils violently as it tried to flee. Kevin let out a faint gasp, though the ice kept him from moving. Max’s Three Dimensional Body sensed the parasite the moment it broke the skin.
Before it could escape, Max invoked the fourth level of the Space Concept, sealing it within a localized barrier. The parasite thrashed against the invisible walls, but it was trapped.
Max lifted his hand, and black flames flickered at his fingertips. The fire coiled like snakes before darting toward the parasite, incinerating it. A high-pitched shriek echoed for a split second before the creature was turned to ash. The parasite that had plagued Kevin for years was finally gone.
As Max withdrew the freezing aura, the room began to warm. Kevin fell forward, gasping for air as heat returned to his body. For the first time in years, his aura was clear of corruption. The crushing weight on his soul had vanished.
He was finally free.
