Devouring Evolution: I Reborn as an Arctic Wolf Chapter 1804 - 1010: Sea of Star Sand Retreat? (Part 2)
Previously on Devouring Evolution: I Reborn as an Arctic Wolf...
It was almost impossible for them to accept that more than seventy percent of the exotic beasts had fallen in combat, but they still clung on stubbornly, unwilling to pull back.
The demise of seasoned fighters from the Flame Angel Army Group, those who had guided countless newcomers in the past, pushed the Flame Angels into utter frenzy!
To them, the devastating loss of the Phantom Army might have seemed like the downfall of a close partner force.
However, this time around, it hit differently—their own instructors, the battle-hardened veterans, perished right in front of them.
No requirement for enduring countless skirmishes or enduring endless trials; this single clash alone, with the agony piercing their souls, ignited their madness and forged them into a true Wolf Civilization Army.
All that remains ahead is to temper themselves through relentless savage fights!
"Kill! Kill! Kill! Even if I perish, I’ll pull you all into the abyss with me!"
Such a roar erupted from a Flame Angel soldier, fueled by a resolve to embrace death, sparking like a wildfire amid the exhausted and wavering ranks of the Great Army of Sea of Star Sand, engulfing the vast battlefield spanning thousands of miles in flames.
As a mere offshoot, the Flame Angels retained a hint of the Angel Clan bloodline, and the blaze they unleashed could inflict grave harm on exotic beasts far superior in rank.
In that instant, it inflicted heavy wounds on numerous first and second tier Heavenly Boundary space bandits.
The Star Sky Main Ship, already battered from enduring three foil-level lethal strikes by the Ashen Sky Beast, now lay fractured and worn, steered by a squad of Flame Angels in a desperate, all-out assault toward the initial stronghold of the Sea of Star Sand.
This action hastily set off various poison traps and deadly formations originally designed to ensnare the Wolf Civilization Army.
Upon seeing this unfold, the wicked outlaws of the Sea of Star Sand could no longer endure the pressure.
"Curse it, we should retreat now; victory is impossible here. Since when did we face such savage warfare? Losses are mounting too fast—persist any longer, and once the Wolf Civilization Army arrives, every one of us is doomed!"
These terrified and panicked words were broadcast by a cosmic brigand.
Despite their expertise in safeguarding their lives and defeating foes at the lowest price, within this compact yet savagely intense arena, they abandoned close to a hundred billion corpses.
At present, their combat casualties against the Wolf Civilization Vanguard Army stood at almost a one-to-one ratio.
In fact, they had suffered greater losses than the Wolf Civilization itself!
That fact alone was utterly horrifying.
After all, they specialized in hit-and-run tactics across the void, boasting unmatched personal prowess and evasion abilities, though their collective fighting power fell short.
Yet the foes confronting them weren't the elite core of the Wolf Civilization, so arriving at this dire state filled them with genuine terror.
They valued their existence far above that of any other race, even the Wolf Civilization.
Thus, for these merciless fiends of the Sea of Star Sand, enduring seventy percent casualties—or even just twenty or thirty percent—would have shattered their morale ages ago,
stripping away their bold and overbearing attitude.
Boom!
Only when the blood-maddened Hao Ri Princess crushed the heads of the final two lesser faction chiefs amid millions of their followers did the whole battlefield quake violently.
Forces of exotic beasts scattered in chaotic retreat, howling without a backward glance.
The Hao Ri Princess, driven to the brink of insanity by bloodlust, teetered on the edge of evolving from a Holy Angel into the Angel Clan's mightiest Blood Angel.
Endless waves of combat fervor and a slaying aura aimed at eradicating all wickedness surged across her form.
Boom!
While these space bandits desperately tried to escape, her blood-drenched, bone-like twelve-winged form ripped enormous swaths through the emptiness of space.
This sight drew agonized screams from countless exotic beasts,
And right as certain space bandits abandoned their combat spirit and began their flight,
a rapidly advancing dark cloud burst forth behind the Wolf Civilization Vanguard Army, almost blanketing the whole starlit expanse; wherever it spread, gloom overtook the dimness, plunging everything into absolute obscurity.
Within that obscurity, faint glimmers dotted the void.
Looming even further back in this shadowy mass was a colossal black insect hive!
The hive towered grandly across the cosmos, resembling a colossal ridge spanning millions of miles.
Perched atop this ridge was a cockroach gleaming entirely in gold.
Though the cockroach's frame wasn't massive, it radiated the aura of late and peak stage Peak Venerable, lacking overt signs of brute dominance yet projecting an aura of utter invincibility that all could sense.
Be it the Godspeed Golden Eagle, its Slaughter Heaven Guards, or the Flame Angel Army rekindled with their old spirits, all displayed overwhelming dread upon first glimpsing this golden silhouette, swiftly replaced by surging thrill.
Within the Wolf Civilization, this presence ranked just below the Wolf Lord.
It even outshone the Serpent Emperor, Lonely Wolf Emperor, and the Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly!
She stood as an absolute sovereign figure, one whom even the Wolf Lord couldn't always direct!
The Roach Emperor had come!
Accompanied by an endless torrent of Star Sky Insect Clan forces, their vast numbers a mystery, surging into the fray at this critical juncture!
Merely their emergence in view of the battlefield's exotic beasts demolished the battle resolve of the Ashen Sky Beast and its Sea of Star Sand brigands, sending them into frenzied flight.
.......
Su Lin guided the wolf pack back to their home ground at a rapid pace, and the sight of the known terrain slowly soothed his restless spirit. The young kin and Red-tailed Fox Wolves inside the den caught the comforting aroma and emerged with tails swaying, immediately noticing the ice-encrusted group of wolves.
Predators in the path of the White Wolf Pack held their breath until the imposing silhouettes of the White Wolves faded completely from sight.
Su Lin gazed with approval at the quick and unified wolf pack ahead; this was the finest unit he had shaped, destined to be his strongest ally in upcoming conflicts. With his wolves growing ever more capable, he could engage in fights free of concern,
since wolves thrived as a collective, and he had zero desire to wander as a solitary hunter.
Next, Su Lin threw his head back and unleashed a mighty howl northward, commanding the entire Wolf Clan to abandon the frozen expanse and head to the Land of Adventure, safeguarding their kills from any Hunter ambushes en route.
In answer to the command, the Wolf Clan raised their voices in howls, then dashed off along their route with blistering velocity, as if eager to flaunt their agility and power before the Wolf King.
Observing the pack's fierce enthusiasm bolstered Su Lin's resolve to guide them toward supremacy in the Arctic; during the Ice Age, all life evolved wildly, and only relentless growth ensured survival. Anything less meant becoming mere food for others—a destiny Su Lin refused to accept!
Su Lin observed how two Beta Wolves trailing Little Lone Wolf bore the leftover meat from the Invincible Fierce Tiger, their steps missing the earlier poise and vigor. He knew well this was Little Lone Wolf's way of challenging them, for Beta Wolves ought to carry themselves with poise and bravery to shoulder duties, so Su Lin stayed silent.
Little Lone Wolf approached Su Lin and issued a soft "oww," and Su Lin grasped the intent behind Little Lone Wolf’s sound.
Little Lone Wolf directed those two Beta Wolves to haul off the tiger's remains, leaving the gigantic Mad Thunder Skyhawk carcass for ten Hai Wolves to transport at the back; the Skyhawk's bulk demanded no fewer than ten wolves to move.
Little Lone Wolf declared that the Mad Thunder Skyhawk's meat belonged solely to Su Lin, a plan Su Lin endorsed without hesitation. It aligned perfectly with his own view, as a prize like the Mad Thunder Skyhawk was too precious to divide among other Lead Wolves.
