Da Xuan Martial Saint Chapter 1527 - 733: Chen Mu’s Dao (Part 2)
Previously on Da Xuan Martial Saint...
A group of Dao Venerables, who had safeguarded various beings from the previous cosmic age, turned around with grave expressions at that instant, staring at the followers trailing them, and declared with utmost seriousness, "Here lies the Primordial Star, your fresh sanctuary. You can roam this Primordial Star at will, yet you absolutely must avoid provoking the Five Powers."
"The Time Temple, the Time-Space Island, the Primordial Domain, the Vast Divine Palace... along with Chen Mu’s Heavenly Venerate Divine Hall!"
Dozens of beings under their protection, every one a peak Ninth Layer Heavenly Divine Monarch, shared looks among themselves right then, all lowering their heads in unison, casting respectful gazes toward the location of Chen Mu’s Divine Hall.
Venerable Chen, despite originating from their own era as a fellow being, now stands leagues beyond them in stature. While they endured the cosmic silence thanks to the Venerables' shield and persist into this new cosmic era, merely a handful among them might ever reach the rank of Dao Venerable.
Moreover,
Should they be lucky enough to grasp a Great Dao and ascend to Dao Venerable, they would still hold deep respect for Chen Mu, the rising Supreme Venerable, and refrain from any offense against him whatsoever.
…
Across the expansive terrain.
The grand Heavenly Venerate Hall rose imposingly.
Chen Yue, Chen Yao, and scores of survivors from the prior cosmic era slowly stepped into that imposing Heavenly Venerate Hall, selecting spots for themselves one after another.
Chen Mu had forged the Heavenly Venerate Hall to seem like a single structure on the outside, but inside it stretched endlessly wide, resembling a miniature realm, with its scale rivaling a space fragment from the last cosmic cycle.
Beyond the hall,
Xu Hongyu chose not to step inside the Heavenly Venerate Hall; instead, she approached Chen Mu, fixed her bright eyes on him, and asked, "Husband, do you have some task ahead?"
From the moment Chen Mu emerged from nothing and joined her path, nobody understood him as deeply as she did, even without many words from him. Still, she could tell from his moves that he abruptly led them to the Primordial Star and built a Heavenly Venerate Hall to secure a foothold, likely for a major purpose.
However, with Chen Mu now at the cosmos's peak as a Supreme Venerable, able to outlast countless cosmic silences, he wouldn't fade into the Origin River. What grave issue could possibly demand his attention?
"Yes."
Chen Mu met Xu Hongyu's gaze, gave a light nod, and spoke openly without concealment, "I witnessed the universe's birth, and inspiration hit me in that instant; out of nowhere, an idea formed, and I wish to test this idea swirling in my thoughts."
Xu Hongyu absorbed Chen Mu's explanation, refrained from probing his idea further, and simply stated with her innocent gaze:
"Is there danger involved?"
"...Yes."
Chen Mu hesitated for a moment, then answered softly.
Everything under the heavens adheres to the Dao's natural flow. From his perspective, or more precisely the path to transcendence he had grasped, it involved pursuing that natural essence, allowing all to unfold without force; however, this natural essence demanded more than just clear thinking to confirm.
With the cosmos now in constant flux and growth, he sought to confirm his way forward, a route of deliberately blending into the Origin Dao, reshaping himself as the Dao's core, advancing with the immense universe, and deriving the Great Dao's secrets from its basic transformations.
This kind of endeavor carried inherent peril, of course.
Dao Venerables stand as almost eternal and unbeatable; their sole vulnerability comes from the cosmic silence's assault on the Dao, which might subject them to the Dao's gradual corrosion, slowly wearing away their core determination.
For Chen Mu, elevated to supreme heights and having weathered hundreds of cosmic births and ends, his endurance in the world far surpasses that of typical Venerables.
Yet,
Should he opt to deliberately fuse with the Dao, drawing on the Origin River and becoming integral to the cosmic progression, it would surely hasten the Origin Dao's wear on his determination.
Before, he could persist across hundreds of cosmic cycles, but by willfully tapping into cosmic progression, his core determination might swiftly fade, perhaps limiting him to only a handful of such cycles!
The earlier version of Chen Mu would have shunned paths laced with such hazards.
But in his current state as a Supreme Venerable, his cultivation soars beyond sky and soil, unmatched and unchallenged across the boundless universe, his sights set higher than the cosmos itself, pursuing the ultimate breakthrough.
Deliberately fusing with the Dao and flowing with it—this formed his grasp of the transcendence journey, serving also as a means to affirm his own direction; amid the uncertainties, he sensed this as the truest path.
Nevertheless, the domain of transcendence remains uncharted territory; the direction he had discerned might not prove entirely accurate, despite the system panel's clear signals. For those yet to transcend, errors in insight could emerge, leading to irreversible outcomes that might squander many cycles for him.
Chen Mu stayed resolute nonetheless.
He elected to rely on the system panel's directions, on his own understandings, on the revelations from his ascent out of obscurity, and on the choices born from inspirations across his cultivation journey, to affirm his convictions and establish his route!
"Don't worry."
Chen Mu caught the flicker of worry in Xu Hongyu's eyes and offered gentle reassurance, "It's risky, but it won't mean total destruction; should I err, it'll merely cost some time."
At this juncture, prior to transcendence, a decision loomed essential—either like him, to fuse with the Dao and test one's route, or like the Primordial Palace Master, to gradually probe and unravel the ultimate enigmas.
Each path allowed only a single choice.
Take the Primordial Palace Master, for instance; at this level, even if aware of Chen Mu's convictions and accepting his route as valid, he couldn't pursue either option, having weathered endless epochs that had severely gnawed at his core determination, making it tough to forsake old ways for new ones, with success out of reach.
Deliberate fusion with the Dao demands active change, leaving no room for delay.
Chen Mu perceived that his window of chance wouldn't linger indefinitely; he needed to act swiftly within no more than one or two cosmic cycles, lest the prospects for transcendence dim further.
"If husband has made up his mind, then proceed."
Xu Hongyu looked at Chen Mu with her pure eyes, free of any doubts.
She had never questioned Chen Mu's convictions, for he had climbed from nothing through relentless trials, triumphing over every obstacle in succession. She held faith in him above all others, certain that his selections and the paths he trod pointed straight to the Great Dao.
"Yes."
Chen Mu nodded softly.
Arriving in this realm by himself, the initial figure to touch his heart was Chen Yue, taken as kin, followed by Xu Hongyu, Ning He... gradually, others drew near, granting him companions for talk.
Throughout, Xu Hongyu remained at his side, heeding his words and backing each of his choices.
"I'm going now."
Chen Mu uttered his parting words, and his form faded away without a sound.
…
High above the Nine Heavens.
Where the Origin River concludes.
A splendid colossal vessel drifts along the Origin River, none other than the Primordial Palace Master’s Eternal Ship.
Without a whisper, Chen Mu’s presence materialized inside the Origin River, swimming upstream against its flow, drawing close to the Eternal Ship, where he stood with hands clasped behind his back, lifting his eyes to behold this awe-inspiring grand Primordial Treasure vessel.
"Primordial friend."
Having taken a quick scan, Chen Mu began the exchange.
Buzz!
With Chen Mu’s voice echoing, countless beams erupted instantly from the full length of the Eternal Ship, infinite dazzling golden radiance weaving into a Great Dao pathway toward the skies, stretching from the ship's body down to Chen Mu’s position.
"Chen friend, come aboard."
The Primordial Palace Master’s form emerged atop the Eternal Ship, beaming at Chen Mu while extending the welcome.
