Cultivating for a hundred lifetimes to ascension Chapter 1412: 758: Big Pit, or Opportunity? (Part 2)
Previously on Cultivating for a hundred lifetimes to ascension...
With this notion in mind, Zhao Sheng's eyes happened to glance over at Yang Jian Venerable, right at the moment he spotted a pair of eyes gleaming with amusement.
Suddenly, a realization struck deep within him: “As expected…”
Right then, the green-robed woman advanced and declared calmly: “Disciple of Yunqing Ancestor from Taiyi Spirit Palace, Xue Susu!”
Her words had barely ended when Little White drawled lazily: “From the Spirit-controlling Immortal Sect’s Corpse Resurrection Immortal line, Wu Yue!”
Observing this, Zhao Sheng clasped his hands and stated: “I am Zhao Xi, from the Divine Artisan Zhao Clan, currently serving as the Guardian of A3 Virtual Realm Fortress. I have met both seniors!”
At that point, Yang Jian Venerable gave a slight nod and announced: “Excellent, now that you three have introduced yourselves, it's time to depart!”
Zhao Sheng was stunned by these words, surprised at how pressing the matter was, demanding they leave right after their introductions.
He remained unaware of the nature of their mission, and equally clueless about the details concerning his two “companions.”
“May I ask, Ancestor, where exactly are we headed? And what mission must we accomplish?” Zhao Sheng quickly inquired.
To his surprise… Yang Jian Venerable replied: “Don’t ask too much, just follow Niece Xue’s lead. Sometimes, knowing too much isn’t a good thing!”
Hearing this, Zhao Sheng's heart dropped, sensing once more that he had been maneuvered into a trap.
Yet the circumstances left him no choice, forcing him to obey the command.
Xue Susu bowed to Yang Jian Venerable and spoke with respect: “Thank you, Master Uncle Ancestor, for your kindness. If Susu can achieve her goal on this trip, I will surely repay Master Uncle Ancestor’s favor!”
Yang Jian Venerable instructed: “Go now! If you truly cannot defy fate, then return quickly! Do not fall into a dead land!”
“Susu, taking leave!” Xue Susu nodded, then cast a look at Zhao Sheng and Wu Yue, before proceeding out of the tower.
Witnessing this, Zhao Sheng promptly showed respect to the two Great Abilities and trailed after Xue Susu alongside Wu Yue.
…
One month afterward, over twenty Constant Years distant from the Demon Suppression Star Domain. A streak of white tunneling light hurtled through the heavens at astonishing velocity, occasionally plunging straight into the Void Realm, only to reemerge from the void many Constant Years further along.
This white tunneling light took the form of a disc-shaped spaceship designed for crossing between realms, transporting Zhao Sheng and his two companions.
The disc-shaped spaceship moved at a frightening pace; in merely thirty days, it covered eight hundred Constant Years with the trio aboard, approaching the outer edges of the Demon Suppression Star Domain.
Half a day further, the spaceship stealthily skirted several forbidden zones, slipping into the central star system of the Demon Suppression Star Domain.
Before long, an enormous planet loomed into view for the three.
Zhao Sheng's face shifted subtly, sensing that the colossal planet before them rivaled Taiyi Star in scale. Viewed from afar beyond the realm, the whole world was cloaked in dark mist, resembling mighty demon suppressors, with shadowy demonic forms stirring inside the darkness, now and then revealing vast black silhouettes.
This vast planet, dubbed for its role in demon suppression, served as the core star of the Demon Suppression Star Domain, and it was the high-spiritual-energy world first seized by the alien demons.
Demonic qi saturated the Demon Suppression Star Domain, yet the density on this Demon Suppression Star itself probably exceeded the outer realms by thousands or even tens of thousands of times.
“Since this serves as the alien demons’ stronghold, shouldn’t we proceed with greater caution?” Zhao Sheng turned to Xue Susu and questioned.
“I have my own arrangements, no need to fret.” Xue Susu responded gravely, and with that, the spaceship surged forward once more, swiftly plunging into the heavy demonic qi enveloping the planet.
An hour passed, and three tunneling lights touched down in a mountain range on the Demon Suppression Star, where a burst of radiance unveiled the figures of Zhao Sheng's group.
Zhao Sheng scanned his surroundings, confirming the demonic qi was overwhelmingly thick in this area, with the natural spiritual energy nearly entirely corrupted by the demonic influence.
This spot lay at the mountain range's fringe, and peering out from there, one could faintly discern a colossal floating city perched amid the clouds.
Meanwhile, across this entire mountain range, innumerable massive nests dotted the landscape.
“Wu Yue, is this the location?” Xue Susu pulled back her gaze and inquired.
“Senior Sister Xue, that floating city ought to be Mo Chang City. From what I know, that individual should be inside the city at present.” Wu Yue answered.
With this confirmation, Xue Susu morphed into a green tunneling light and soared away from the mountain range.
Zhao Sheng observed Xue Susu’s departing form, still in the dark about the reason for their arrival here.
This sensation of being left uninformed proved utterly frustrating!
Still, he forced himself to tolerate it and adhere to Xue Susu’s guidance.
Noticing Wu Yue hurrying after her, Zhao Sheng sighed inwardly and reluctantly joined the pursuit.
In short order, the three reached the outskirts of a ruined city, from where they could see the immense floating city hovering far overhead.
Xue Susu quietly retrieved a Crystal Pearl from her robes, crushed it to dust with a firm grip, and then stood in silent anticipation.
Zhao Sheng had meant to probe for mission particulars, but Xue Susu’s intensely focused demeanor made him hold back the impulse for now.
In scarcely more than ten breaths, the space ahead of the trio rippled, and a figure materialized from nowhere.
The arrival was a slender, bald elder clad in a flashy magic robe, his scant hair gathered into a high topknot, wearing a listless look with eyes barely open, as though he had just roused from slumber.
“Ancestor Wen!” Wu Yue exclaimed in shock at the sight of the man, his voice quivering.
Zhao Sheng's features altered too; the man's abrupt emergence carried no warning, not a hint of presence, undoubtedly marking him as an Integration Realm Great Power.
His spirits plummeted, and his attention snapped toward Xue Susu.
Xue Susu, however, displayed perfect composure, appearing utterly unsurprised by the sudden visitor.
“Oh, I wondered who it might be—turns out it's my little niece! I had no intention of revealing myself, but on second thought, I decided it best to greet my dear little niece.” Wen Shifei yawned while rubbing his eyes, casting a sluggish look at Xue Susu and speaking in a languid tone.
“Wen Shifei, even after all these years, you remain utterly shameless!” Xue Susu replied coolly, showing no deference to this “Uncle Master” whatsoever.
“Little Susu, don’t put it like that. I simply refuse to die! Oh, and could it be you’ve come for Senior Sister Yunqing?” Wen Ancestor jested, eyeing Xue Susu appraisingly.
“Where is the Master now? You know it better than anyone. Tell me at once, and our past scores will be even.” Xue Susu stated flatly.
“Oh, you can’t phrase it that way—after all, I’m your cherished uncle, and Yunqing Venerable is my own blood Senior Sister. This position, I cling to with my life!” Wen Shifei abruptly flashed an eerie grin, his form blurring as he disappeared.
The instant after, he reappeared high above the trio, and with a flick of his sleeve, it ballooned enormously, releasing myriad red lights that swallowed the three beneath.
Zhao Sheng's pulse raced; though he was on high alert, he failed to respond swiftly enough and got caught in the swarm of law red lights.
His frame felt crushed beneath a colossal mountain spanning ten thousand feet, rendering him utterly immobile.
Wu Yue fared even poorer, slammed flat to the earth like a limp rag.
Solely Xue Susu stood firm, a subtle green glow radiating from her to fend off the encroaching law red light.
“Nephew Xue, don’t hold it against me! Senior Sister Yunqing wouldn’t wish for you to throw your life away. Even if you reach her, what could you achieve? In truth, Senior Sister can’t return. Even recovering one or two strands of Primordial Spirit—what use would that serve? I intend only good; you’ll see that someday.” Wen Shifei regarded Xue Susu with a half-smirking expression, as if offering sincere counsel.
His voice had not yet trailed off when the red light from his sleeve pulsed anew, and with a sharp “whish,” it drew the three inside.
Zhao Sheng's sight blackened, and he discovered himself in an alien realm where spatial forces bound his entire form without mercy.
He emitted a muffled growl, pouring all his mana and Divine Thought into breaking free, but every effort proved futile, leaving him rooted in place.
Confronted by a fearsome entity apparently at the Tribulation Crossing Realm, his present power remained far too inadequate.
“Nephew Xue, don’t blame me! Even Senior Sister Yunqing wouldn’t want you recklessly risking your life. If you…
