Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World Chapter 2276: One Million Jin

Previously on Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World...
Zhao Hai, now the unchallenged leader of the Blood Knife Gang after slaying a Teleportation Stage Expert with a single punch, journeyed with Liu Zhen and Yu Linfeng to the inner city of Demonheart for the Forbidden Path Sect's recruitment. Though Liu Zhen and Yu Linfeng had lost their drive for advancement and chose to remain outside the sect's harsh path, Zhao Hai pressed on alone, presenting his rare Bloodless Command Token to a sect disciple. Guided to a secluded courtyard, he met the elders, who expressed intrigue over his feat and Buddhist body cultivation method, the Demon Subjugation Technique, before ordering a test of his strength on a stone tablet.

Soon enough, a cultivator showed up, gripping a massive stone tablet that stood two meters tall. Its center featured a smooth surface ideal for delivering a punch. At the top, there was an empty area. The wide base beneath it spanned five meters.

The elder turned to Zhao Hai and instructed, “Step up and strike the center with all your might.”

Zhao Hai agreed and approached the stone tablet. He examined it with curiosity before assuming a proper stance. One foot slid back as he readied his fist. With a loud yell, he unleashed his punch toward the tablet.

Bang! Crash! Bang!

The moment Zhao Hai's fist connected with the stone tablet, a cloud of dust erupted instantly. The tablet crumbled into pieces and scattered everywhere.

Zhao Hai gazed at the scene in astonishment. Confusion washed over him as he glanced around. After all, this was the testing tablet from the Forbidden Path Sect. How could a single punch destroy it so easily?

The watching elders stared at Zhao Hai like he was some kind of freak. Moments later, one elder bellowed, “Fetch the strength tablet for inner disciples right now!” A disciple hurried off to obey without delay.

Once that disciple had gone, another elder addressed Zhao Hai, explaining, “What you just broke is the device we use to measure Handyman Disciples and Outer Disciples. That tablet can withstand up to 200 thousand jin of force at most. Clearly, your power surpasses that limit. Impressive.”

Zhao Hai saluted the elder with cupped fists before stepping aside. Not long after, a different disciple entered, hauling yet another enormous tablet. This one appeared identical to the previous from the outside.

The elder gestured for Zhao Hai to proceed. Zhao Hai acknowledged with a nod and positioned himself before the tablet again, readying his stance. He pulled back his fist and then drove it forward in a powerful strike.

Bang! The earth trembled. Though the tablet held firm, a fissure appeared on its surface. Suddenly, a violet glow emanated from it, and the crack sealed itself completely.

Zhao Hai had no clue what that signified, so he held back from throwing another punch. Turning to the elders of the Forbidden Path Sect, he sought their reaction. Meanwhile, shock etched across the elders' features.

Noticing their expressions, Zhao Hai felt a twinge of regret. Truth be told, he had only unleashed half his power in that blow. In essence, he had held back considerably.

Examining the tablet closely, one elder announced, “One million jin. It surpasses one million jin. A true genius—this is a genius!”

The elder's eyes gleamed as he faced Zhao Hai and asked, “Young one, would you consider becoming my disciple?”

Zhao Hai blinked in surprise at the words, only to hear another elder chime in, “Why choose him? You ought to take me as your master instead. Listen, kid—if you do, you'll gain true disciple status right away.”

A third elder jumped into the fray, “That's not much. Join me, and you'll become a true disciple too. Kid, I'm the Merit Transferring Elder of the Forbidden Path Sect. No one in the sect teaches better than I do. Remember, raw power doesn't equal skill in guidance. Under me, you'll rise to fame as an expert in short order.”

Zhao Hai stared blankly at the cluster of elders, a wry smile creeping onto his face. It appeared he had drawn too much attention this time. Things wouldn't have escalated like this otherwise.

The elders continued vying to claim Zhao Hai as their disciple, each touting the perks they could provide. Evidently, his remarkable talent had stirred them profoundly.

Eventually, the elders settled down. One then declared, “Enough—we mustn't waste such a promising talent. Notify the sect and designate him for elite training as a disciple. Grant him resources matching those of core disciples.”

Another elder let out a sigh, adding, “Given our limits, we couldn't guide him to great heights anyway. Better to let the sect handle it. That way, the whole sect gains more.”

The rest of the elders agreed with nods. The elder who had first directed Zhao Hai's test flicked his hand and commanded, “Fine, quit lingering here. If you spot any promising ones, save a few for me. I'll escort him back to the sect.” The others nodded once more. Their enthusiasm for the assessments had faded. Witnessing Zhao Hai's display, they doubted any future candidates could top it. They had encountered the finest potential disciple available.

That same elder turned to Zhao Hai and said, “Come with me.” Zhao Hai followed obediently behind the elder. Soon, they left the courtyard, weaving through twists and turns, passing multiple courtyards until they reached a transmission formation. Zhao Hai stepped into place, and the elder triggered it, vanishing in a burst of white light.

As the white light faded, Zhao Hai surveyed his surroundings and realized he stood in a new courtyard. Beyond its walls loomed a vast mountain.

At that moment, the elder next to Zhao Hai explained, “We're now at the Forbidden Path Sect’s Main Hall. Your Bloodless Command Token lets you enter the sect directly, but that would place you in the Outer Sect. To qualify for elite training as a disciple, you must face one final trial: the Heart Refining Road. Pass through it unscathed, and you'll earn official disciple status. From there, the sect will invest resources to cultivate you.”

Zhao Hai nodded and replied, “I understand, Elder.”

The elder acknowledged with a nod and guided Zhao Hai from the courtyard. Outside, Zhao Hai took in the view. The courtyard perched on a modest hill, surrounded by similar low peaks. Farther off, a mountain range stretched like a protective wall encircling the hills.

Leaving the courtyard, the pair headed toward a nearby mountain. Along the path, they occasionally crossed paths with other cultivators, each saluting the elder respectfully upon sighting him.

Few reached the Teleportation Stage; most hovered at Earth Monarch level. Yet Zhao Hai refrained from underestimating them. Their skin gleamed with a metallic sheen, and thick blood qi radiated from them, hinting at their tremendous bursting power.

While ascending the mountain with the elder, the elder remarked, “This area marks the outer edge of the Forbidden Path Sect’s main hall. Before your trial, you'll reside here temporarily. I'll alert the Sect Master about you and schedule your test promptly. Succeed, and you could ascend to inner or even core disciple rank. For now, settle in.”

Zhao Hai nodded in response. The elder then directed him to a nearby small hill featuring a spacious courtyard. Disciples came and went from it regularly. Some were at the Soul Fusion Stage, appearing relatively feeble. Zhao Hai figured they were outer disciples of the Forbidden Path Sect.

As expected, the elder confirmed, “This serves as housing for Outer Sect members. Typically, Outer Disciples pay to occupy such places. But you're a special case—follow me.” Zhao Hai nodded and reached the courtyard's entrance. A stone stele beside the gate bore the character for “Strength.”

The elder prompted, “Enter. I oversee this courtyard. Incidentally, my family name is Guo. Address me as Elder Guo.”

With that, Elder Guo ushered Zhao Hai inside and selected a room for him. He produced a jade token and passed it over, saying, “Take this as your temporary identity. It allows you to roam freely. There's a dining hall for meals—use this token, and you eat without charge, unlike others. Rest up or explore as you wish. Just avoid restricted zones.”

Zhao Hai responded politely, “Many thanks, Elder Guo.”

Elder Guo dismissed the thanks with a wave and departed. Zhao Hai noted the other cultivators eyeing him curiously. As fellow Outer Sect disciples, they usually got led here by folks from the Miscellaneous Hall. But an elder had personally brought Zhao Hai.

Furthermore, Elder Guo ranked among the prominent elders in the Outer Sect. For him to escort Zhao Hai himself left the outer disciples amazed. Now they buzzed with questions about Zhao Hai's identity and why the elder valued him so highly.

Ignoring the stares, Zhao Hai headed to the room Elder Guo had chosen for him. It was plain yet neat. After a quick tidy-up, he stepped out to wander.

Zhao Hai observed three identical courtyards dotting the hill, all sheltering Forbidden Path Sect Outer Disciples. The mightiest outer disciple he spotted had reached the Earth Monarch Realm. No Teleportation Stage experts lurked nearby.

Zhao Hai avoided entering the other two courtyards. His token was merely temporary, and though unguarded, getting caught prying would spell trouble. Instead, he descended the hill.
