Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy Chapter 1175: Summoning

Previously on Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy...
Vale’s avatar met with Adam of the Church of the Three Paragons to discuss the removal of a Spell Model, a task requiring Vale’s original body and the Divine Extraction System. While Adam declined to join the hunt against the Chaos Immortals to protect his fledgling Church, he warned of the growing paranoia and inevitable retaliation from the fractured enemy ranks. Unfazed, Vale moved against his next targets, Immortals Seo and Aven, using a series of mental invocations to shatter their defenses and eliminate them within their own mansion. As the confrontation concluded, Lotus arrived with urgent news concerning the Spirit Realm.

Vale was already well-informed about the dire state of the Spirit Realm, thanks to the prior explanations from Lotus and Yvaine. For many decades, the Abyss Realm had been launching an invasion, causing the Spirit Realm to become increasingly unstable.

While total conquest had not yet been achieved, it was evident that the demons of the Abyss Realm had successfully seized a massive portion of the Spirit Realm's territory.

"Vale... They nearly seized the Spirit Queen. We cannot permit that to happen," Lotus urged. The moment a messenger from the Spirit Realm reached her, she had hurried away from Armin to find Vale’s Avatar and deliver the news.

She had originally intended to seek out Vale’s physical body, but he was secluded within his Immortal Tower, seemingly occupied with a matter of great importance.

She didn't want to disturb him unnecessarily.

"The Spirit Queen? Give me the details..." Vale requested.

Lotus’s face grew somber as she began her explanation.

"A sudden assault was launched against the Spirit Queen’s castle. A massive force of Demon Saints and Demon Lords descended upon it. To protect her, the Dark Spirit Guards, Spirit Warriors, and numerous Spirit Guardians fought with everything they had. The Queen herself entered the fray... together, they held their ground against multiple Demon Lords. Although she managed to take down several of them, she suffered grave injuries in the process... and was nearly captured."

The severity of the situation finally dawned on Vale. He vividly recalled the power of a Demon Lord from his encounter with one in the Shadow Realm.

Only an Arcane Immortal possessed the strength to face such a foe... It was hardly shocking that the Spirit Queen was severely wounded if several of them had attacked simultaneously.

"Almost captured...?"

Lotus gave a grim nod. "Indeed. She would have been taken if her guardians hadn't sacrificed their lives. Currently, she is forced to hide and recover. The Spirit Realm is no longer a safe haven. The demons have already conquered too much ground. They are searching for a new sanctuary... and they have set their sights on this human realm."

Vale’s brow furrowed. "This world? Why choose this place?"

Lotus spoke in a softer tone. "Because of the peculiar protection that blankets this land... The Spirit Queen mentioned it carries the blessing of the Timeless King. It is a barrier the Abyss Realm cannot easily breach. Because of this, the Queen’s envoys believe this realm could serve as her final refuge."

Vale remained silent for a long time, stunned by this news... He never imagined that the seal established by the Timeless King would be viewed as a form of protection by the Spirit Queen.

It was a fascinating shift in perspective. Nevertheless, he couldn't simply allow things to proceed without caution.

The prospect of the Spirit Queen herself seeking asylum in the human realm was both unprecedented and perilous.

Finally, he let out a long breath. "If the Abyss Realm discovers her presence here, they will launch an invasion. The human realm would be devastated. We must prevent that, Lotus."

Lotus nodded in firm agreement.

She was well aware of the stakes, having seen the Abyss Realm attempt to attack this world before. It had resulted in immense loss of life, a tragedy she had no desire to see repeated.

"I understand. The relocation must be shrouded in total secrecy. No one outside our inner circle can know. Even the Chaos Immortals must not have a suspicion."

Vale’s mind worked rapidly as he analyzed his choices.

He considered the dangers, the potential outcomes, and the long-term effects.

Then, his mind was made up.

"Very well... We will utilize Constance’s Immortal Tower," he declared. "The structure is sufficiently powerful and sits within the Shadow Domain. If we establish a portal to transport the Queen there, it should be secure. No one else will be able to detect her arrival... However, the Abyss Realm might still sense her if they open a portal from their end... The Tower can only mask her entry here."

Relief shone in Lotus’s eyes. "Yes... that should work. The Spirit Queen will surely take measures to be secretive on her side as well..."

Knowing that Constance’s Tower was among the few locations capable of shielding the Queen, Lotus agreed immediately.

"It is settled then. We will put the matter of the Chaos Immortals aside... This is now our priority."

Vale stood tall before his form began to dissolve into the shadows.

"Thank you, Vale."

Without another word, Lotus merged into his shadow, her essence blending perfectly with his aura. Together, they vanished into the dark, moving away from the city.

The mission to hunt Chaos Immortals was abandoned for now. Vale’s journey took him back toward the Shadow Domain to consult Constance and prepare her Immortal Tower. This realm was perhaps the Spirit Queen’s only chance at survival, and Vale realized there might be an advantage for him as well.

After all, through his conversations with a Spirit Realm Messenger, he had discovered he possessed a natural compatibility with Spirits...

He knew he would always share a strong bond with Dark Spirits or any other entities he summoned from that realm.

Perhaps he could form a friendship with the Queen and gain from a potential alliance. With the Academy soon to open, having more Spirits available would be beneficial.

'If the inhabitants of the Spirit Realm have no other home... perhaps they could become contracted Spirits for the Academy...' Vale mused, though he quickly dismissed the thought with a shake of his head.

That felt a bit too opportunistic.

For the moment, he had to wait and observe until the Spirit Queen actually arrived.

Meanwhile, deep within the Spirit Realm, the Spirit Queen was resting inside a concealed sanctuary...

Her aura had grown faint by now, yet she still maintained a majestic air despite her suffering. The injuries sustained from her clash with the Demon Lords remained unhealed, and the burden of her guardians' sacrifice weighed heavily upon her heart.

Those Spirit Guardians were gone forever, unable to be resurrected. The Demon Lords had targeted their very essence, destroying them completely.

When Lotus’s message finally reached her, a small spark of light returned to the Queen’s eyes.

"So... there is a chance for hope in the human realm?" she whispered.

The messenger sent by Lotus, a shimmering wisp of spirit, flickered slightly.

"Yes, Your Majesty. Immortal Vale, her contractor, has agreed to provide a sanctuary for you. His Arcane Circle is powerful enough to summon you directly into the human world. You won't have to face the dangers of traveling through a dimensional corridor."

The Queen frowned slightly upon hearing this... "A summoning... rather than opening a gateway?"
