Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy Chapter 1165: The Academy Students

Vale let out a silent sigh, feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders.
He realized that controlling the ultimate destiny of this realm was beyond his reach.
Should a world-shattering event occur—something capable of destabilizing the entire continent—even an Immortal of his caliber would be unable to halt it. His only recourse was to remain flexible, prepare for the worst, and ensure his subordinates were equipped for the impending shifts in the world.
Ultimately, he conceded to the dragons' proposal.
Veyrith and his kin were granted leadership over the Alchemy Faculty. However, Vale mandated that the foundational Alchemy Arts courses must remain under the instruction of Arcanists from the Alchemy Path. The dragons, possessing profound ancient wisdom and specialized Alchemy Techniques, would exclusively manage advanced or niche specializations. This compromise was intended to bolster the reputation of the Academy.

While Vale was occupied with the final administrative duties at the Arcane Academy, new faces were arriving in Clovis City.
Cassian and Selene, a pair of Mystic Arts Practitioners endorsed by the Church of the Divine Sorcerer, had finally reached their destination via a private church airship.
The vessel made a smooth landing at the city’s docks, and a group of attendants quickly moved to welcome the arrivals.
As the two Practitioners disembarked, their attire clearly displayed the emblems of the Church, signaling their high status.
True to their rigorous upbringing, Cassian maintained a dignified air, while Selene possessed a gentler aura, her face brightening with a cheerful smile.
Even though the start of the term was still two weeks away, the Academy had made arrangements for their early arrival.
They were guided through the crowded streets toward the Marshall Academy gates by a party of Church officials and local Clovis guides.
"The atmosphere here is truly remarkable," Cassian whispered to himself.
"It must be the Divinity we heard about," Selene replied with a nod, sensing that the very air seemed to facilitate the cultivation of her Arcane Energy.
The sensation was nothing short of extraordinary.
The Academy itself was an imposing sight. They could sense the powerful Formation Arrays shielding the campus walls, and the orderliness and discipline of the environment were immediately apparent.
Young Arcanists moved through the courtyards; some threw curious looks at the new pair, but they quickly went about their business once they realized they didn't recognize them.
Cassian and Selene were led straight to the Administration Office.
The office was a spacious hall where uniformed clerks managed student files and various institutional records.
The attendants had already briefed them on the registration process.
First, they were to receive Academy ID cards, which were etched with unique runes to verify their enrollment.
Following that, they would be provided with custom-fitted uniforms bearing the Marshall Academy crest.
They would also receive their course schedules, which included the core curriculum and the elective Arcane Arts classes they were recommended for.
Lastly, they were granted leave to scout the campus, allowing them to find the libraries, training halls, and dorms before the semester officially began.
A clerk inside the office greeted them with a warm smile. "Welcome to Marshall Academy. Please come forward individually so we can process your items and paperwork."
Cassian gave a nod and was the first to step up.
His guide presented the sealed letter of recommendation from the Church. After a careful review, the clerk added his name to the Academy registry.
The registration was confirmed by a soft runic glow.
A moment later, Cassian was handed his neatly folded uniform and his identification card.
Selene went next, her own recommendation letter being presented by her attendant. The clerk went through the same steps, and she soon had her own card and uniform in hand.
The two Practitioners traded a look, silently acknowledging that their life at the Academy had officially commenced.
As they exited the office, their guides offered a final reminder.
"You have a two-week window before your classes start. Spend this time productively. Scout the Academy, memorize its layout, and get ready. Marshall Academy isn't merely a school; it is a place where destinies are forged. We will be staying at the residence provided by the Church."
"Understood! We appreciate the assistance, Mister," Cassian said, thanking the Church-appointed guide.
Cassian and Selene then examined the crisp parchment marked with the Marshall Academy seal. It detailed the Mystic Arts Curriculum for incoming first-year students.
They found a courtyard bench and sat down to carefully unroll the document.
Listed inside were their prospective subjects, each accompanied by a brief summary.
[ First‑Year Mystic Arts Curriculum ]
[ 1. Elementary Spirit Law ]
[ 2. Fundamentals of Magic Zone ]
[ 3. Magic Language ]
The initial three subjects were familiar to them.
"These are things we've already touched upon at the Church. Adjusting shouldn't be difficult," Selene remarked.
"I'm curious if their techniques for expanding the Magic Zone are superior," Cassian added.
"They better be... otherwise, this place is no different from any other Academy."
The pair shared a light laugh before moving down the list.
[ 4. Mystic Pathways ]
[ 5. Arcane History ]
"History classes are usually steeped in politics. We should be careful not to let their perspective bias us," Cassian noted.
Selene gave a mischievous grin, thinking back to their Church tutors.
"You just mean you're going to pick a fight with the professor if they criticize the Church..."
Cassian cleared his throat, choosing not to answer. Instead, he looked at the final three courses.
They were Rudimentary Usage of Mystical Artifacts, Practical Spell Application, and Mystic Harmonization.
'I wonder what the Professors here are like... I hope they surpass the tutors back at the Church...'
