Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy Chapter 1148: One of Vale’s Grand Plan
Cecilia had various thoughts in her mind... Was she being expelled already? Maybe they realized that her Grimoire was useless and she’d just put a stain in the Academy?
Whatever it was, she knew that this was most likely a problem on her side.
After all, she also had no money to support her studies here.
Based on what Sterben said, the Academy would support students until they graduate, and they would just have to work for them once they obtained a proper job. It was a loan, as they said.
Furthermore, to lessen this loan while studying, they must also accept various Academy Missions and other means.
’Did I miss the cutoff for the student loan?’
As she was thinking of this, her expression changed multiple times. Thankfully, the man disguised as a gardener, or the secret member of the Shadow Pillar, immediately clarified what had happened.
"No... you’re fine," the gentleman said. "I’m here because we were told your Grimoire has affinity with Water Creatures, Artifacts, or Spells. Is that true?"
"Yes... that’s my Grimoire. Is there a problem?" Cecilia asked, while holding the book tightly on her waist.
"Actually, we’re looking for you. To be exact, Lord Vale is looking for you," the man revealed, and made Cecilia even more confused!
"W-what? Vale... the Immortal Vale... is looking for me?"

The Shadow Pillar operative guided Cecilia through the Academy’s corridors.
She was nervous, clutching her Grimoire tightly, her mind was filled with questions but only Lord Vale could answer them.
’Why would Immortal Vale want to see her? She was just a weak student, barely admitted into the Summoner’s Curriculum.’
Soon, they stopped before a tall wooden door engraved with Runes she couldn’t recognize.
There was also a plaque beside it read: Headmaster’s Chamber.
Cecilia hesitated, realizing this was the office of the Academy’s leader.
But when the door opened, she saw Vale seated inside, calm and composed, though the nameplate on the desk clearly bore another name... Constance Leore – Headmaster.
’That’s definitely him...’ Cecilia thought.
Well, recognizing Vale the Immortal wasn’t difficult since his face was all over the newspaper with various statues dedicated to him within the Academy. It wouldn’t be surprising to spot him immediately.
Then, she immediately realized her situation, so she stepped forward slowly then dropped into a respectful bow.
"Immortal Vale... forgive me. I am only a student. I did not expect to be summoned before you."
Indeed, though she heard that Vale was looking for her, she didn’t expect to meet him just after opening that door.
Vale chuckled as there was no need to bow that low.
"Raise your head, Cecilia. There is no need to tremble. You are here because I wished it."
Cecilia did as she was told and now, she was able to observe his face clearly...
He looked... normal. Not the overwhelming figure she had imagined, but a man with sharp eyes and a faint smile.
"Cecilia," Vale said, his tone warm. "Come in. Don’t be afraid."
She stepped inside slowly, bowing her head. "Sir Vale... I... I didn’t expect..."
Vale gestured for her to sit in the chair across from him. "I heard about your Grimoire. Water‑type, yes?"
Cecilia nodded nervously. "Yes... but it’s weak. I can barely summon anything stable. Furthermore, I only filled 2 of my Spell Lights..."
Vale smiled as it was enough.
Summoners with a specific affinity to an element were very rare after all. But since her grimoire was thin, it showed that her talent wasn’t that great either. It means that even if her grimoire could allow her to summon water creatures or artifacts, their quality wouldn’t be that great either.
In short, it would be better to find a Water Elementalist.
"It’s fine... Weakness is not always weakness. Water Grimoires are rare. And as it happens, I’ve obtained several water‑type Spirit Beasts. I hadn’t planned to use them myself, but Summoner Arts practitioners can bind them into their Grimoires. That is where you come in."
Of course, those Spirit Beasts were actually from Kaela... It was to thank him for allowing them to roam around after the Will of the Realm’s suppression had weakened.
Cecilia’s eyes widened. "Me? But... my Grimoire is low quality. It can’t handle powerful spirits."
Vale smiled faintly, reaching into his storage ring. He placed a book on the desk. It was an empty Grimoire.
"That’s true. Your current Grimoire is limited. But I have this. An empty water‑type Grimoire. It’s compatible with your affinity. I’ll give it to you."
This one, however, came from Constance when she was still trapped in her Arcane Tower... It must be remembered that she possessed numerous treasures and artifacts that she was supposed to give as a reward for the Arcanists passing her trials!
Cecilia stared at the book...
"You... you’d give me this?"
Though she was worried that she would fail to get selected by the Grimoire, she was even more surprised to get so much help from the Immortal.
There must be a trade!
Vale then nodded at her question. "Yes. And if necessary, I’ll forcefully bind it to you. It will be painful, but it will unlock your potential. With this, you’ll be able to handle the Spirit Beasts I’ve kept. You’ll grow stronger, faster than you ever imagined."
She hesitated, fear and hope clashing inside her. "Why me? There are so many stronger students..."
Of course, it wasn’t just because she fits the criteria of having a water-type Grimoire...
One of the reasons was actually Vale’s desire to accept disciples of each Arcane Path!
Indeed, Vale wanted to accept at least 12 Disciples or even 16 if he felt like it.
Right now, Armin, who was his first disciple, was a Dark Arts Practitioner... With that in consideration, he planned to accept other disciples from each Arcane Path, starting from the Summoner’s Path.
Although the Vampire Recruiters brought various Summoners with better talent, and Lakrine Academy sent him transfer students who were far better than Cecilia, Vale knew that Cecilia’s potential just needed a little bit of push!
