Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy Chapter 1135: Resonating

Soon, the black mist thickened, and it started twisting into the shape of a man!

’That’s a lot more effective than I thought...’ Armin mused as he looked at the culprit of this incident. He didn’t expect this to be this quick. Still, he was happy that he was able to force it out without using too much of his Dark Energy.

’Hmm...’

The figure that had appeared looked like a man, and his features were almost unnaturally handsome, but his eyes were filled with malice.

The male spirit then moved forward as if it were trying to suffocate Armin with its presence. However, the evil energy that it had wasn’t strong enough to push him back.

Obviously, Vale’s aura was stronger than this spirit, as he was unbothered!

The spirit didn’t introduce himself, nor did he waste time with threats. Instead, after realizing that Armin could endure his spiritual pressure, he went straight for Armin and used some kind of a Spell... Darkness made of blades suddenly started coming at him!

Armin raised his dagger, but the force behind the strike was overwhelming.

Suddenly, he felt his body constrict as the spirit’s eyes seemed to be sucking his energy or his consciousness!

’I’m trapped! Not good!’

He braced himself, knowing he could not withstand it alone...

Then, it was at this moment that the shadows at his feet stirred.

Lotus rose from his shadows!

Her form was as graceful as ever, with her eyes burning like embers. She moved swiftly and intercepted the spirit’s attack before it could reach Armin.

Boom!

The clash of shadow against shadow sent a shockwave through the room, rattling the chains that bound the possessed man, and it even turned into ashes...

The spirit was shocked by Lotus’s appearance!

He didn’t expect that such a high-ranking Dark Spirit with traces of Divinity would actually come out so suddenly!

He really thought that it could obtain a better body, but it was all a trap!

His handsome face twisted with fury. He struck again, but Lotus met him head-on... Suddenly, she created black petals that formed into a barrier and absorbed the blow.

She then countered with a sweep of her hand, slicing through the mist with razor‑sharp fragments of shadow.

The spirit staggered, and his form started fading as if it was about to disappear!

Armin watched nervously as he realized that the Spirit that he was dealing with possessed Divinity!

No wonder he felt so helpless just now!

Thankfully, Lotus was also at the same level or even stronger. Furthermore, he had seen Lotus’s power before, but never against something of this magnitude...

Still, he just realized that Lotus seemed to have gotten stronger!

’Right... Master Vale must’ve given her something.’

As he thought of this, the spirit finally started retreating slightly. His strength was already faltering despite the Divinity protecting his Spiritual Body...

Aside from that, the sacrificial ritual had not been completed, and without the energy it promised, he could not fully descend into this realm and show its true might.

"I will remember you..." The spirit said as his form began to dissipate.

However, Lotus smiled as if she were looking at a cowardly spirit.

"We will wait for you, Envy."

The spirit froze, his eyes widened in shock since it was so unexpected. He had not revealed his name, yet Lotus had spoken it aloud. For the first time, his composure was broken...s

Before he vanished completely, Armin caught the look on his face... There was surprise, even fear.

Then the mist collapsed, leaving only silence and the faint stench of corruption in the air.

Armin could finally move, and he lowered his dagger... He turned to Lotus, who was already merging back into his shadow.

"You knew," he whispered.

Her voice echoed softly from the darkness.

"I always know."

Armin exhaled as he realized that Lotus would indeed only act or guide him if he was in real danger.

The encounter had ended, but the danger was far from gone. Envy had been forced back, not destroyed...

"Whew~ That was a bit scary..." Armin muttered after confirming Envy’s retreat...

He then turned his attention back to the man on the bed.

The chains had crumbled into ash during the clash, but the man did not move to flee. Instead, his body had sagged, but thankfully, his chest was still rising and falling with shallow breaths. It means that he was still alive...

Armin then cast a simple Revitalize...

It was one of the Combat Arts Spells he had learned.

Slowly, the man’s eyes cleared as the unnatural darkness faded until only exhaustion remained in his face.

"Arthur..." the client’s voice trembled from the doorway.

He had obeyed Armin’s command to stay outside, but now he rushed in, kneeling beside his friend. "You’re back... thank the heavens, you’re back."

Arthur blinked as he heard the man’s voice... His gaze was unfocused at first but it settled on the familiar face beside him.

"I... I remember my desires... those voices..." His voice was hoarse, but this time, it was his own. "But I’m still here."

The old client was relieved as tears streaked down his cheeks. He clasped Arthur’s hand tightly, as though afraid to let go.

"You’re safe now. He saved you."

Arthur’s gaze shifted toward Armin, who stood silently, watching him calmly...

Though weakened, Arthur managed a faint smile. "You... you pulled me out. I owe you more than words."

With trembling hands, Arthur reached toward the small drawer beside the bed.

From within, he drew out a necklace...

Its chain was simple, but the pendant was a polished stone...

He held it out with his unsteady hands...

"Take this. It’s... precious to me. But I want you to have it. A thank‑you gift."

Armin hesitated and didn’t really want to accept the necklace. However, he knew that it would also put his client’s mind at ease, so after a moment of thought, he accepted the necklace.

However, the moment his fingers brushed the pendant, a faint vibration pulsed within his shirt.

It wasn’t imagination as he felt his pocketwatch, the mysterious artifact he had inherited when he was young, react instantly!

At this point, even Lotus was shocked as she knew more about the pocketwatch that Vale had secretly given to Armin as an inheritance...
