Apocalypse Gachapon Chapter 1895: Crushing attack
Previously on Apocalypse Gachapon...
"Captain... what should we do?"
Helsky had fully accepted Ye Zhongming as his leader. Fierce clashes were already underway on the left, right, and forward sides, while the pair of warriors behind acted like they were just toying with their foes, inching closer without any rush to strike.
Ye Zhongming stayed silent for the moment, lost in thought over their options.
The circumstances looked truly dire right now.
Should the group throw everything into a desperate brawl, Ye Zhongming figured they wouldn't face certain defeat; they could at least hold their ground somehow.
Yet, judging by the Luther folks' moves, they lacked that fierce will to battle until the end. Things could sour quickly, leading them to bolt away or even betray their allies.
When it came to folks from cosmic races, Ye Zhongming always assumed the darkest motives without a second thought.
Those Tianqi Star individuals diving into the fray against the Evil Armor Star warriors likely had no choice in the heat of it; if they did, they'd probably target just a pair too.
Even with two foes lingering in the rear, the distance was too great, forcing a path through a bunch of Novices.
Still, the crisis hadn't hit its peak just yet. Ye Zhongming needed to find a path to shatter this stalemate.
Stuck in this spot too long, and reinforcements would keep pouring in, sealing their fate beyond control.
"Helsky, Commander Ji, lead your teams to block those two Shuoxing warriors on your own. Try to take them down if possible, but it's fine if you can't. He, stick with me."
No one grasped Ye Zhongming's plan, yet nobody questioned it. Explanations would have to wait.
The Novices broke apart abruptly and surged toward the Shuoxing pair at the back.
Their fighting skills fell short of the seasoned warriors, but sheer numbers gave them an edge. This bold push stirred up chaos, pulling focus from the ongoing skirmishes.
That distraction didn't last, though. A duo of warriors backed by five Novices could easily handle the rush.
Ye Zhongming, with He in tow, trailed the charging group.
Ji Ruiguang led the sprint, stealing a quick look back at the Cloud Peak King and letting out a quiet sigh.
Back on Earth, hiding among such a small band would be impossible for Ye Zhongming—let alone blending into a massive force—without drawing every eye.
These opponents would regret overlooking him soon enough.
The instant the groups collided, blood erupted everywhere.
The White Robe side grew tense. Though the Novices aimed mainly to stall, combat's fury meant they'd grab any opening that arose.
All these fighters had staked their lives on the grand scheme, betting everything for future triumphs. The timid ones who wouldn't risk it were long gone.
Facing almost ten enemies each, the two Shuoxing warriors couldn't avoid every gap perfectly. The Novices pounced on those moments, while the warriors countered with raw power, aiming for lethal blows whenever possible.
In the midst of this brutal clash, Ye Zhongming slipped through the heart of the two fighting clusters with He, unseen. Just ahead lay the five charging Shuoxing Novice warriors.
"Once I strike, hit them with the water chains," Ye Zhongming instructed, keeping his pace steady and unhurried, his form tilting slightly toward the melee—like he was hunting for a chance to hit the veteran warriors while watching out for the Novices.
In a flash, Ye Zhongming shifted course. His figure blinked out of sight, then popped back up right beside the five Novices rushing to join the fight.
He slammed the water chains onto Ye Zhongming without missing a beat.
Dark silhouettes materialized near the Shuoxing warriors, lashing out at them, as the gravity beneath their feet twisted suddenly.
The Novices got blindsided. Some took stabs from the shadows; others evaded. Right after, the shadows burst apart, unleashing a psychic assault.
Ye Zhongming held back from a full-force mental strike, knowing it would spread too wide and hit other zones—especially their own nearby Novices. With most lacking the mental resilience of mature warriors, it could backfire badly. He narrowed it down on purpose.
That proved sufficient. In that split second, the Cloud Peak King's blade sliced the nearest Novice's throat. Without pausing, he barreled into the next foe's guard. His shorter build let him drive the weapon wildly into the enemy's gut, piercing the armor before ripping side to side, splitting the body clean through.
By then, the remaining trio snapped to action. One bellowed as his blade smashed into Ye Zhongming's back with a thunderous crash.
A warm surge rose in Ye Zhongming's throat, his sight swimming. But he rode the impact to shove aside the fading opponent, twisting his frame with the push to unleash a fist at a close Shuoxing warrior whose weapon had already plunged into his side.
The long-accumulated Feedback Force from the Mountain King Crown surged into that blow, slamming the foe's neck with a sharp snap echoing out.
Stabbed through, Ye Zhongming tumbled across the dirt. He drew in his legs, locked them, and powered through rolls. Energy blasts chased him, cratering the earth in his wake.
When Ye Zhongming rose once more, the last two Novices closed in with fury blazing in their eyes.
Ye Zhongming flashed a grin their way. As shock froze their faces, Qiuqiu swooped in from its hidden perch. It skipped a direct ram, instead arcing above their heads to wrap its threads around their throats.
The sudden pull threw the warriors' balance off for a heartbeat. Seizing it, Ye Zhongming drove his weapon deep into their forms.
These Novices hailed from a supreme cosmic race, after all. Facing death's edge, they realized blocking the assault was futile and lashed back wildly, praying fear would make the attacker flinch.
Yet Ye Zhongming pressed on without doubt, letting their strikes hammer his frame.
The pairs broke apart, all tumbling to the ground.
The nearby skirmishes halted too as a result.
Curiosity gripped everyone about the outcome.
He dashed to Ye Zhongming, forcing a pill past his lips—his complexion paler than snow—before pulling out gear to tend the injuries.
Ye Zhongming's recovery kicked in visibly.
And across from him? The five lay sprawled out. Three showed no signs of life, while the pair still gasped weakly, exhales outweighing inhales.
Shock rippled through both sides.
Ji Ruiguang's crew recognized Ye Zhongming's might; he'd slain two veterans before. They understood it took his maximum effort, with the power stuck in a lengthy recharge.
Measured against that, handling five Novices seemed doable for him.
But the real shocker? He'd wiped out five at once, all on equal footing!
Fine, maybe the Cloud Peak King pulling this off wasn't wild, but... how quick was it? Fifteen seconds? Closer to ten?
This defied belief entirely!
