Apocalypse Gachapon Chapter 1890: Nine abilities

Previously on Apocalypse Gachapon...
Ye Zhongming, recovering from severe injuries, unleashed devastating attacks on two Gurui Star Race warriors, piercing and dismembering one treant while crushing and decaying the other into liquid with soil manipulations and a powerful fist. The Novices and three Taros Red Dwarves watched in stunned silence as the threats dissolved, shifting the battlefield's balance and boosting the humans' morale against the remaining foes. As Ye Zhongming turned to confront the dwarves, who defiantly demanded submission or death, a bloodied elf-like figure named White Robe emerged from the Novices' ranks, nodding to Ye Zhongming in greeting and mocking the dwarves' arrogance.

Ye Zhongming reached out his hand to clasp with this unusual man who possessed a strange kind of allure.

So, this turned out to be White Robe? The leader of the Silver Order?

The central icon of the Star-Eye Clan?

His power and rank appeared way beyond those two thousand Fuleila, didn't they?

Observing that Ye Zhongming remained alive and had freshly taken down two members of the Gurui Star Race, White Robe felt deeply pleased with such a display. He believed the cost of descending here had been entirely justified.

"Who's first? Or together?"

True to his word, White Robe wasted no time in action. He declared he'd deal with the Taros Red Dwarves, and without hesitation, he followed through.

It was obvious to all that he'd just emerged from an intense clash before reaching this spot; the blood staining his form hadn't dried completely. Fresh scars marked his skin too, though whether his insides had taken damage remained unclear.

In other words, his shape wasn't at its best. Additionally, it was common knowledge that he'd employed unique methods to restrain his might just to enter the Novice battlefield. At present, his condition was far from optimal.

Yet, a name's fame spreads like a tree's shade. Among the cosmic races, White Robe held immense notoriety. His exploits might not qualify as myths, but everyone agreed on one truth: he was a wild, daring lunatic.

Countless elite fighters from the cosmic races had met humiliating losses thanks to White Robe's bold madness!

The trio of Taros Red Dwarves certainly recognized White Robe and his ways. Thus, despite realizing this wasn't the full-powered White Robe from beyond, they hesitated briefly and stayed silent.

On the front of aura, they were utterly overpowered.

The Novices buzzed with thrill and finally eased up.

If earlier they'd been even-matched against the three Taros Red Dwarves, the advantage now swung to them.

Things looked promising; nobody could complain, especially since their survival was now assured.

Ji Ruiguang eyed White Robe, words caught in his throat.

He viewed clashing with the Taros Red Dwarves at this moment as unwise. Victory seemed likely, but injuries would pile up. With hours still to go before the close and potential for more fighters to show up anytime, conserving power mattered most over rash combat.

White Robe didn't hold back merely because the Taros Red Dwarves kept quiet. Rather, he advanced toward them. His pace stayed steady; every stride matched precisely, like it was calculated.

He intended to battle!

Ji Ruiguang let out a silent sigh; this fellow truly embodied madness.

"Can you still fight?"

He stood near Ye Zhongming and whispered just loud enough for him alone.

Ji Ruiguang saw the need to gauge Ye Zhongming's actual condition now, allowing him to ready for whatever came next.

Ye Zhongming stayed put but answered in a tone only Ji Ruiguang caught, "Injuries are all healed, but can't go all out."

Ji Ruiguang got the picture.

The Cloud Peak King operated at standard capacity, yet expecting him to unleash the force that swiftly ended those two treants moments ago was out of reach. Clearly, Ye Zhongming had been putting on a show earlier, aiming to intimidate the dwarves away.

In truth, Ye Zhongming inwardly agreed that White Robe ought not to push for a brawl with these dwarves. Still, he'd curbed his power and endangered himself to descend and aid him; that debt demanded repayment. Under those terms, no matter what the Silver Order Leader chose, Ye Zhongming would stand by his side.

Regarding that prior burst, it proved impossible to maintain since the cooldown had kicked in.

The Earth Spirit's advancement to a new form had granted Ye Zhongming that surge of strength.

Before, the Earth Spirit lingered in its young phase, holding six skills while the rest stayed locked. It had now properly advanced, stepping into the maturing phase, unlocking three extra skills right away. Joining the originals—Gravity Jump, Space Unobstructed, Big Eater, Earth Shaker, Devoted Guardian, and Black Earth Armor—the small entity commanded nine skills total.

During the takedown of those two Gurui Star Race fighters, the Cloud Peak King deployed all three fresh skills.

That shielding, rendering him untouchable by strikes, stemmed from the third sub-skill of Black Earth Armor: Invincible Armor. It offered three seconds free from any harm, followed by a two-thousand-hour recharge. That very edge had emboldened Ye Zhongming to face foes beyond his tier.

Apart from that, his wounds closing up so abruptly came from a fresh skill—Earth's Nurture.

This worked as a half-automatic skill. While Ye Zhongming touched the ground, energy gathered steadily inside him. Upon damage, it mended the hurts. The half-automatic part meant that if he stayed unscathed, he could direct this energy to mend others.

It might appear modest, yet it ranked as Ye Zhongming's top pick.

Since arriving in the skies, he'd left the Blood Stepping Boots behind, nullifying their effect. His endurance in fights had dipped a bit, despite his body's vast upgrades.

Though this skill didn't fully offset that, it brought built-in recovery. After building up, even grave injuries could mend in a flash, akin to an additional chance at life. Plus, extending it to allies let Ye Zhongming support his team.

In slaying the second Gurui Star Race warrior, the 'hand' bursting from below to bind the foe marked the eighth skill—Life-Severing Grip.

This served as an on-demand skill, a straight offensive one. The earth would form a massive hand-shaped form, locking the target's legs in place while applying a crush tenfold the Earth Spirit owner's might.

Ye Zhongming's power already overwhelmed; multiplied by ten, its force was staggering. That treant, with his treant enhancements and sky-high toughness, still faltered under such pressure. Even absent Ye Zhongming's other blows, the lower crush alone would've ended him. Such was Life-Severing Grip.

This skill carried a special trait: it shaped the huge hand based on the terrain. So, black earth yielded a black earth hand; sand produced a sand one; stone created a rock version, and so on. Regardless of the substance, it never hindered the skill's use.

The ninth skill went by—Life's Plunder.

Every being rooted in the soil fell under the Earth Spirit's sway. At the owner's command, the vitality they'd drawn from the earth could be siphoned away.

Were it not for the skill's narrow targets, it'd be unbeatable. Almost every organism, in some measure, pulls essence from the soil. For most, it might just weaken them slightly, but against plant life, it shone as a killer move; they got totally countered. Combine it with the harm resistance Ye Zhongming earned from the Heart of Nature, and he essentially shrugged off all mutant plant assaults.

Conveniently, the Gurui Star Race had embedded Sacred Tree seeds within themselves...
