Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1633 - 564: Steel Throne (Part 3)
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
"This..." Trena found herself pausing at the other's statement.
One had to admit, the other's point held a certain validity.
...
Floating City.
Negative fourth floor, the core zone for power and transmission.
"What a brilliant creation." While Og and Otto remained unimpressed, Haleem, from the Federation Mechanical Research Institute and a specialist in mechanical builds, easily spotted the clever elements involved.
Eyes wide with awe, like he was witnessing something divine, he examined the enormous square apparatus bit by bit and burst out.
"Crown Rein, isn't this the anti-gravity mechanism?"
"Correct, it's a steady anti-gravity setup built with Metal Series Witchcraft. Once powered up completely, it renders the whole Floating City nearly weightless, like a feather in the breeze." Rein gazed at the deep gold square gadget in front of him and gave a nod.
That thing ahead resembled a plain Rubik's Cube, but its might rivaled that of a god. It marked the height of goblin ingenuity from ages past, over ten thousand years back.
"Over here sit the four primary thrusters."
"This spot holds the central control panel."
"Armament command station..."
"Puppet operation chamber..."
As the team moved forward, Haleem, skilled in Ancient Goblin Language and familiar with scattered details about Floating City from prior study, described each tool and system's role effortlessly, as if it were second nature.
"Lord Haleem, you're in charge from this point." Rein offered a faint smile and stated.
"Naturally, Steel Throne, have no worries—I've delved into Floating City's secrets somewhat. I won't boast full mastery, but fixing it up is no issue; count on me."
Haleem thumped his chest confidently and promised.
"Good, Haleem, I'm handing this task over to you. Focus mainly on firing up the anti-gravity mechanism swiftly and mending those four key thrusters." Rein smiled and nodded as he spoke.
"I'm heading down to the lowest level for a check, what about you all..." Rein mentioned, glancing toward Og and Otto.
"We're staying behind, Steel Throne," the pair shared a look and declined in unison with head shakes.
Suppose the Fiend Demon stirred once more?
They'd be utterly finished.
Just the ripples from any clash would overwhelm them beyond endurance.
"Fine then." Rein nodded, grasping their fears, which made perfect sense.
Besides, getting Floating City back online and operational ranked among top priorities, and lending Haleem a hand right there would hasten things along.
...
Before long, Rein made it to the negative fifth level, the very base of Floating City.
Thanks to Floating City's egg-like halved shape, descending floors meant shrinking spaces.
Upon hitting the deepest layer, Rein was surprised to find it like an elven paradise, likely the original site of the Goblin Palace.
Yet, after countless millennia, nearly all blooms and greenery had dried up and curled, while survivors bore the corruption of Evil Qi, morphing into twisted forms—all dark and ashen, releasing faint black vapors, and spiked with jagged barbs.
Right now, just the rundown fountain, partial marble figures, and shattered planters whispered tales of former glory.
Rein surveyed the surroundings, then locked his sight forward at the ruined palace—the Fiend Demon's supposed lair. A huge, sinister energy lingered inside, palpable to him.
Even though Goblin Princess Amora Gren insisted she'd sealed the Fiend Demon anew, Rein preferred not to trust such a vital issue to outsiders.
Checking personally always brought peace of mind.
Moreover, one more motive existed—Rein aimed to hunt for hints on fully banishing the Fiend Demon or uncovering Amora's alluded true Key of Time.
