Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1451 - 497: New Killing Move (Part 2)
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
"I was told, however, that the witchcraft was currently in your possession."
"Oh?"
Haleem took the item and began flipping through it rapidly, his look of astonishment deepening.
A quick look at Hernandez, who was nodding with a faint smile, confirmed for him that the news was indeed accurate.
Haleem’s thoughts raced. He began to speculate: was it possible that Lord Rein intended to join the Federation?
If that were the case, he would soon be considered an ally.
Such a scenario was the only way the Federation’s approval would make sense.
After weighing the situation for a moment, Haleem felt more certain about his theory.
With a slight grin, he reached into his robes and produced a translucent crystal shaped like a strange key. Handing it to Rein, he remarked:
"Lord Rein, the witchcraft you seek is contained right here. I must mention that I have specific requirements for this crystal, so I ask that you return it once you have committed the witchcraft to memory."
"That is perfectly fine, of course." Rein kept his internal excitement well-hidden, calmly accepting the object and beginning his inspection immediately.
"Lord Haleem, why do you carry a memory crystal containing such high-level witchcraft on your person?" Hernandez inquired, sounding somewhat puzzled.
Carrying a precious Fourth Level Dawn Witchcraft around was generally considered a risky move.
Furthermore, he was under the impression that the Fourth Level Metal Series Witchcraft stored within had never been successfully duplicated.
Had it been copied, this entire journey likely wouldn't have been necessary.
"Your Highness Hernandez, the situation is quite unique because this memory crystal is very uncommon. Despite my power, I can only manage to review and copy the First through Third Level witchcraft within. The Fourth Level Witchcraft 'Blade Flying Disc' remains beyond my ability to replicate."
"As you might be aware, I am currently preparing for my advancement to Dawn Wizard. My plan is to adopt this 'Blade Flying Disc' as my Fourth Level innate wizardry."
Haleem hesitated for a beat, debating if he should reveal more, but he quickly decided to be transparent.
"Additionally, and perhaps more crucially, this memory crystal functions as a key for a specific door or hidden chamber."
"This particular crystal was unearthed at a different Goblin site alongside a prototype. I suspect that this current site might hold clues that relate to it."
"I understand now." Hernandez looked at the key-shaped crystal Rein held, his expression shifting to one of comprehension.
Since it couldn't be copied and served a secondary purpose, it was no wonder Haleem kept it close.
While the two conversed, Rein’s focus was almost entirely surrendered to the Fourth Level Metal Series Witchcraft, "Blade Flying Disc".
Roughly thirty minutes passed.
A sudden wave of understanding washed over Rein, followed by a series of system alerts:
[You have learned Blade Flying Disc; related comprehension has improved!]
[A new skill has been comprehended—Blade Flying Disc]
[Skill 'Blade Flying Disc' has been enhanced, Experience +4]
...
On the Dragon Vein Wizard (Legend) profession panel, Rein quickly identified a new icon.
The design featured a circular metal disc, distinguished by four curved, razor-sharp daggers protruding from the top, bottom, and sides.
Beneath the icon, a line of text provided the details:
Blade Flying Disc lv1 (1/100)
Blade Flying Disc lv1 Effect: Utilizes a portion of spiritual power to manifest surrounding Metal Energy Particles into a disc. The disc then spins at extreme speeds to strike targets according to a specific witchcraft model.
(Note: The casting time is 3 seconds.)
Observing Rein appearing lost in the study of the new witchcraft, Haleem felt an internal sense of amusement. "Lord Rein is still quite young and clearly lacks patience."
"Even for a Dawn Wizard, it would take a minimum of ten days to two weeks just to grasp the basics of a Fourth Level Dawn Witchcraft of the same attribute."
"To reach a level of proficiency suitable for real combat, one would need several years—perhaps even over a decade."
Naturally, Haleem kept these observations to himself.
Rein, oblivious to Haleem's inner monologue, had already gathered a sufficient amount of Skill Points. He immediately poured 11 Skill Points and 8 Golden Skill Points into the new Fourth Level witchcraft.
Instantly, the level of the Fourth Level Attack Witchcraft "Blade Flying Disc" surged from lv1 to lv20. Simultaneously, a massive torrent of memories regarding the technique flooded Rein's consciousness.
In that moment, Rein felt as though he had spent decades in a void practicing the Fourth Level Dawn Witchcraft, gaining countless profound insights!
When Rein finally returned to his senses, his eyes shimmered with a sharp light.
This sudden shift in Rein's aura was immediately noticed by the nearby Sword Saint Terrio.
Terrio shot a surprised look at Rein, having felt the sudden fluctuation in his presence.
Was it possible that Lord Rein had achieved a sudden epiphany so quickly?
Now that he had mastered "Blade Flying Disc," Rein instinctively began to link it with the three Metal Series witchcrafts he already knew.
"First Level Metal Series Witchcraft 'Metal Morphing Spell'."
"Second Level Metal Series Witchcraft 'Cutting Net'."
"Third Level Metal Series Witchcraft 'Sawtooth Ring'."
"And now, the Fourth Level 'Blade Flying Disc'."
"These can be merged into a devastating Dawn Killing Move—'Blade-toothed Disc'!"
Rein’s heart raced as he analyzed the casting methods for all four techniques!
As his mind worked through the combinations, the system chimed again:
[Ding! Host has discovered a prototype for a Dawn Killing Move. Would you like to spend 312 Golden Skill Points to perfect it through deduction?]
"What? It costs 312 points?"
"That is even higher than the cost for 'Steel Forest'." Rein’s eyes widened in genuine shock.
However, his shock quickly turned to joy.
Experience had taught him that the higher the cost in Golden Skill Points, the more devastating the power of the resulting witchcraft or killing move.
This realization filled Rein with anticipation regarding the potential of this new Dawn Killing Move.
Without any further delay, Rein selected 'yes'!
Just like before, the system's deduction process essentially customized the Dawn Killing Move to perfectly suit Rein.
This ensured that the move would have a faster activation time and increased destructive potential when he cast it.
Upon his confirmation, a tidal wave of training memories and technical refinements surged into his brain...
[Ding! Deduction complete! The Host has mastered the Metal Series Dawn Killing Move: "Blade-toothed Disc"!]
"Blade-toothed Disc, huh?"
A satisfied smile touched Rein’s lips.
"Oh? Lord Rein, have you already finished memorizing the new witchcraft model?" Hernandez asked, noticing the smile and feeling quite startled.
To his mind, being able to memorize such a complex Fourth Level Dawn Witchcraft in a mere half-hour was an incredible feat.
As for actually learning to use it... that was another matter entirely.
"Haha, indeed I have," Rein replied with a nod.
"Truly impressive!" Haleem remarked, offering a thumb up in genuine praise.
"He is truly a rare genius of our Empire. Very well, Lord Rein, since you are ready, shall we begin our move?" Sword Saint Terrio stood up, wearing a grin.
He had been eager to get started for some time, but he hadn't wanted to disturb Rein while he was so deeply focused.
"Certainly."
"My apologies for keeping everyone waiting," Rein said politely.
"Think nothing of it, Lord Rein. We all benefited from the rest."
....
To prevent pointless casualties, only the four of them would head out to find a path back. The rest of the group was ordered to remain at the camp and rest.
Once preparations were complete, Haleem began chanting a low incantation.
Moments later, a passage resembling a shimmering mirror manifested in the air. Sword Saint Terrio took the lead, stepping through immediately.
As Rein followed through the portal, he heard a muffled grunt of pain from Sword Saint Terrio!
