Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1413 - 482: Nether Sea Domain
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
"Stay alert, a soul has materialized near me. This rain is likely the cause."
After giving it some thought, Rein dispatched a warning through his communication device, adding a query:
"Prince Menia, your knowledge of the 'Ice Sea Giant Demon' Gazrian is superior. Are these manifesting souls connected to it in any way?"
"Based on what I know, Gazrian shouldn't possess the power to bind or summon the deceased." Menia’s mature, feminine voice crackled back in response.
"However, what you are describing bears a resemblance to... szz... the Nether Sea..."
Static began to plague the communication witchcraft, causing Rein to hear the replies from Menia and the others only in broken fragments.
Despite the interference, the words 'Nether Sea' reached Rein's ears with clarity.
"Is it possible an avatar of the Nether Sea Goddess has appeared?"
The thought struck Rein immediately, and the memory of that girl dressed in black flickered across his mind.
"It is highly probable!"
"The faction previously seen with the Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragon did belong to the Sea God Sect, after all."
"Yet, Prince Menia suggested they should be enemies. Why would Hela, the Nether Sea Goddess, provide assistance to Gazrian?" Rein contemplated, his brow furrowed in deep thought.
His internal monologue was cut short as several more streaks of frigid aura surged around him.
"What? Their numbers are growing?"
Scanning his surroundings, Rein noted that mere moments after he had dispatched a single soul, four pale, humanoid silhouettes had emerged to surround him, launching a coordinated strike from all sides.
"Screee! Screee!"
Flashes of white sword light cut through the air!
Each swing of Rein’s Knight’s Longsword—a weapon forged from a Bright Stone Ingot—easily tore through the four white souls.
To his surprise, Rein looked down and noticed the raindrops landing on the Knight’s Longsword were tinged with a faint, dark hue.
"Black rain?" Rein’s eyes narrowed in suspicion.
He inspected the moisture again, confirming that the rainwater was indeed black.
Furthermore, as the droplets touched the white radiance of the Bright Stone, they evaporated into a thin, black mist—a sensation that felt strangely familiar to him.
He had failed to notice this earlier due to the light fog obscuring his vision.
"This aura feels identical to the Black Water Souls used by the Nether Sea Goddess Hela. Is it possible this entire region has become her domain?"
Rein looked toward the horizon and the sky above, a look of astonishment passing through his eyes.
...
At the heart of the conflict.
The 'Ice Sea Giant Demon' Gazrian appeared visibly drained after deploying its Ice Crystal Barrier.
Nevertheless, its three colossal dragon heads tilted upward toward the heavy, grey clouds. For the first time, its slitted pupils betrayed a sense of confusion, shock, and even a trace of dread.
Thanks to its innate Ice Domain, every raindrop froze into icy pellets before they could touch its scales.
Yet, even around its massive frame, ghostly white silhouettes were beginning to materialize.
These pale shadows drifted swiftly through the intensifying downpour, their forms blurring as they merged with the thickening mist.
One fact was undeniable.
These entities, which appeared to be souls, were rapidly multiplying.
A similar phenomenon was unfolding around Menia and Reginald high in the air.
Menia, mounted upon the Red Dragon Tasa, was currently shielded by a ring of fire spanning thirty to forty meters, which kept the rain completely at bay.
Because the flames repelled the water, Menia’s crimson Wizard Robe remained perfectly dry, and she remained untouched by the soul manifestations.
In a different sector of the sky, however, things were different.
Reginald, guiding the earth-toned Giant Dragon Ted, was protected by a yellow Vortex Shield, yet three souls still managed to assault him.
He dispelled them quickly, but the number of white shadows drifting around him continued to rise.
"Ted, we need to punch through this curtain of rain." Reginald commanded, patting the neck of his draconic ally.
"Roar!!!"
With a thunderous cry, the earth-yellow dragon surged toward the heavens!
Under normal circumstances, ascending through the cloud layer would leave the rain behind.
Strangely, despite flying upward for a significant duration, the Giant Dragon Ted could not pierce the clouds; the distance between the dragon and the overcast sky never seemed to shrink.
"This... this is a highly specialized domain."
As an experienced Dawn Wizard, Reginald identified the anomaly almost immediately.
He signaled Ted to reduce his speed; since they couldn't break through, preserving their stamina was paramount.
"A domain of this scale... could it truly belong to the Nether Sea Goddess?"
Recalling Menia's earlier mention of the Nether Sea, Reginald’s expression shifted drastically as a realization hit him!
However, he soon shook his head, thinking to himself: "No, this must be the Domain Power of an avatar, or perhaps an effect from a Legendary relic."
"But for it to be this powerful... this is going to be a problem." Reginald whispered, surveying the area.
In that moment, the dragon and its rider felt completely isolated within the oppressive, dark rain.
...
While the Epic-level masters struggled, the situation was far more dire for Rebecca and her companions.
"Rebecca, the signal interference is overwhelming... we must switch to the special communication channel!" Benito shouted while managing the Ajax Magic Statue.
