Urban Seduction: Housewives Club Chapter 2116 - 446: Urgent Rescue 2

Zhou Yifei emerged from the bedroom in a flowing white dress, her guard lowered as she embraced her role in Wang Yue's life, while the innocent twin girls, Pingping and Tingting, clung to his arms in their pristine Lolita outfits. The group departed the Warrior Hotel as a picture-perfect family, drawing admiring glances amid Tianhai's bustling streets, where the warrior community simmered with fear after a mysterious force toppled a Deification Realm powerhouse and targeted the Zhang family. Atop the towering Pearl Tower, they marveled at the sprawling city and distant ocean, a realm teeming with perilous sea beasts that even deterred daring pirates, as Wang Yue quietly pondered his path to the Transcendence Realm.

"Hey, isn't that Attorney Zhou? What are you doing wandering around here? Don't you have any cases to deal with these days?" Wang Yue and the others were cheerfully taking in the views when a grating voice suddenly rang out from behind them.

Wang Yue spun around to spot a man and a woman glaring in their direction.

The man appeared middle-aged, attired like a prosperous entrepreneur. He looked fairly good-looking, sporting a mild grin on his features.

The woman looked about the same age as Zhou Yifei, somewhere in her thirties. She was clad in a style much like Zhou Yifei's earlier outfit, appearing sharp and appealing. Yet, her face carried a hint of viciousness and malice.

Folks often mention a person's looks when discussing their appearance, but truly, looks and personality stand apart.

Looks cover someone's outer traits.

Personality, though, proves more elusive and points to a person's vibe. As the proverb states, personality shows through the face. When someone harbors a vicious nature, their personality turns darker over time.

Looks stay the same, though, barring any surgical changes.

The key to gauging someone's personality lies in their vibe and aura.

To sum up, "looks" mean the outer shell, whereas "personality" means the inner essence.

This woman before them, who seemed so polished, served as a prime case of fine looks paired with a rotten personality. That snide comment from before had come from her lips.

"Oh, it's Attorney He. I never thought I'd run into you in this spot," Zhou Yifei responded evenly.

"I'm not as free as you. I traveled to Tianhai today to hammer out a major deal with President Gao," Attorney He boasted, gesturing toward the middle-aged man outfitted like a thriving businessman.

"I managed to carve out some time today, so I headed over to New Pearl."

"Well, good luck with that," Zhou Yifei shot back coolly. She then aimed to depart alongside her two daughters and Wang Yue.

Yet Attorney He refused to let her slip away. Eyeing the twin girls, she remarked, "It's been ages since I laid eyes on them. Pingping and Tingting look even cuter now. Why not greet Auntie He?"

The twin girls stayed pure-hearted and clueless about polite customs. They took an instant dislike to Auntie He, so rather than reply, they ducked behind Wang Yue.

"Attorney Zhou, you're a whiz in the courtroom, but clearly falling short on raising your girls right. How can kids act so impolite?" Attorney He jabbed at Zhou Yifei once more.

"The way I raise my daughters is my affair. No need for you to meddle, Attorney He," Zhou Yifei snapped back in irritation. She turned to Wang Yue and added, "Tiezhu, let's head out."

Still, Attorney He pressed on. This time, she jabbed a finger at Wang Yue, sneering, "So, is this your latest companion? He's decent enough on the eyes. No stature, no charm. His sole plus is being young. But even then, he hardly counts as a 'handsome fellow'."

Upon hearing the woman slam her daughters and lash out at Wang Yue too, Zhou Yifei flared up. She hissed icily, "Shut your mouth!"

"Oh my, now she's protecting him. Looks like our Attorney Zhou has a real thing for him. But seriously, what's appealing about a guy like that? Tiezhu..."

Attorney He echoed Wang Yue's name, then it hit her, "Wait, is Tiezhu not his actual name, but some kind of hint? Yeah, that makes sense—seeing Attorney Zhou's glowing look, it screams she's getting plenty. No surprise she's so quick to defend him."

With Zhou Yifei's sharp tongue and reasoning, she'd normally crush Attorney He in any debate. But here, Attorney He wasn't fabricating; she was just laying out the truth.

Though Zhou Yifei felt both mortified and enraged, she couldn't find words to fire back right away. Instead, she just tugged Wang Yue along, saying, "Come on, let's leave."

"See? I nailed it," Attorney He crowed, bursting into loud laughter.

As a prominent female attorney in Jinling, she'd long lingered in Zhou Yifei's shadow, whether in beauty or skill at her craft.

Now, having cozied up to President Gao and chancing upon Zhou Yifei, she figured this was her shot to taunt her rival.

But to her delight, she'd stumbled onto this juicy bit of gossip.

If she returned and let this tale loose, would Zhou Yifei hold any respect left in Jinling's legal circles?

Attorney He brimmed with satisfaction, already picturing herself as Jinling's top female lawyer.

"Trouble brews from loose lips. At times, merely speaking can destroy a life," Wang Yue declared at last.

He'd held back until now because Attorney He and President Gao were mere civilians.

For regular folks to challenge a martial artist took guts, and Wang Yue had to respect that boldness. Yet, to his astonishment, Zhou Yifei opted to swallow the insults. In that instant, as a guy, he couldn't stay silent.

Noticing Wang Yue's warning tone, President Gao advanced and intoned gravely, "Kid, your words ring true, but they might just rebound on you."

President Gao intervened not solely to shield Attorney He, but largely from envy of Wang Yue. After all, a stunning lawyer like Zhou Yifei drew plenty of interest, and President Gao harbored his own cravings for her.

Regrettably, Zhou Yifei brushed off all admirers, leaving him out in the cold.

If that were all, it wouldn't sting too bad, since nobody snagged her, so no real loss.

But seeing her pick this nobody of a man? That he couldn't stomach.

Thus, he resolved to shame this plain fellow, betting it could boost his standing with Zhou Yifei.

"Really?" Wang Yue eyed President Gao with disinterest.

President Gao's pulse raced wildly, nearly bursting from terror. His once-upright posture hunched right away as he queried warily, "You... you're a martial artist?"

Wang Yue stayed quiet. He simply extended a hand, yanked the tie clip from President Gao's neckwear, and pinched it between two fingers into a tiny metal sphere, like molding dough.

For clueless everyday people, these basic tricks offered the best proof of power.

It proved that straightforward, forceful displays could hit harder. Had he unleashed a transcendent realm master's might right then, folks like President Gao and Attorney He might've missed it entirely.

But mangling a metal tie clip into a ball on the spot terrified them straight away.

President Gao bent even lower, quaking in dread. "Great martial artist, I overlooked your prowess. Spare my folly and don't see me as just another fool."

Attorney He shed her smugness too and dropped to her knees, shaking as she pleaded, "Esteemed martial artist, my earlier words were rubbish. Dismiss them as the yapping of a mutt."

"Fine. I don't stoop to dog level," Wang Yue agreed with a nod. Before Attorney He could relax, he turned to President Gao and added flatly, "If a dog bites me, I'd handle it with the owner."

President Gao proved sharp as a tack. Among civilians, he ranked high. He'd navigated countless tight spots, and in slyness or brutality, he matched any fierce fighter.

Thus, he didn't waver, declaring right off, "I get it—I'll take care of things."

With that, he signaled to a nearby figure, and two burly types who seemed like guards hurried up, hauling the now-feeble Attorney He back onto her feet.

President Gao held his tongue after. He merely bowed to Wang Yue, then dashed off swiftly, trailed by the guards and Attorney He.

Watching them vanish, Zhou Yifei let out a quiet sigh. Attorney He had rivaled her for years.

She'd never imagined her end would come like this—a woman like her likely wouldn't draw breath much longer, considering President Gao's merciless streak.

Wang Yue had to inquire, "As a martial artist, squashing someone like her takes mere words. Why put up with it?"
