Unholy Player Chapter 480 The Improvement

Zephan and Adyr tested a specialized training room, designed to withstand Rank 4 power and absorb immense force. Adyr's punch registered a significant impact, nearly one-hundredth of a nuclear explosion's force. Zephan then demonstrated his own speed and power, his strike surpassing Adyr's measurement.

Upon hearing those words, Zephan let out a laugh. "I simply didn't hold back."

He had clearly observed the way Adyr restrained himself, noting the lack of a proper combat stance before the punch was thrown.

Following this, the Lunari Elders felt the urge to test their own might, unable to pass up the opportunity to gauge their progress. They struck the wall in succession, yielding results of 0.3 and 0.4. This straightforward demonstration allowed everyone to witness the massive chasm in raw physical power between their ruler and themselves, manifested in cold, hard numbers.

Once they were satisfied with the initial trials, the time arrived for the main event.

Adyr shifted his attention back to the head researcher. "So, how shall we proceed with testing our skill combinations?"

While the walls were durable enough to withstand their most devastating techniques, their own bodies were far more fragile; a full release of such power would surely tear them asunder.

The head researcher possessed a solution, though it sounded somewhat unrefined and primitive—more like a field improvisation than a sophisticated protocol.

"Just hurl your skill inside and run." The answer was that basic. Crude, yet functional.

Following that instruction, the group retreated into the corridor, leaving Zephan alone inside the chamber with the door still ajar.

From the safety of the doorway, they observed him as he moved to the center of the vacant room to circulate his power.

A silver spear, roughly half his height, materialized in his hand from thin air. With every passing moment, the weapon grew more radiant, light flowing across the shaft and pooling at the tip until the brilliance became blinding.

One by one, those standing in the hallway were forced to avert their gaze or squint through narrow slits.

The luminescence soon reached a peak where the surrounding environment seemed to fade into darkness. The rest of the chamber was swallowed by shadows, making it appear as if the spear was devouring all available light.

This signaled that the charge was complete. Sensing the shift in his grip, Zephan let go of the weapon, allowing it to hover in the air before turning his back and walking toward the exit at a calm pace.

As he stepped past the threshold, the massive door ground shut behind him with a mechanical whirr, locking the shimmering spear within.

"Are we actually safe standing here?" Henry whispered to the head researcher.

He felt profound unease waiting there while a force equivalent to a nuclear detonation was about to explode just meters away, shielded only by a few layers of specialized material.

The thought of evacuating the entire facility before disaster struck crossed his mind.

"The data suggests we are safe," the head researcher replied. He didn't even glance up from his tablet, his focus entirely consumed by the scrolling data, dismissively brushing off the concern to monitor the readings. "You did test this room beforehand, right?" Henry pressed once more, the dread in his chest intensifying.

This time, the head researcher looked up, sounding slightly annoyed. "How could we have tested it? Construction was only completed yesterday."

"You..." Henry started to swear, but before he could finish, a deep hum resonated from the door, and the entire corridor began to vibrate.

It wasn't just the hallway; the whole building shuddered as if struck by a massive earthquake, the ground trembling violently beneath their feet.

Lights flickered overhead while the plaster on the ceiling and walls began to fracture, sending fine dust drifting down like snow.

"Ah, it appears we miscalculated slightly," the head researcher muttered, bracing himself against the wall to maintain his balance amidst the shaking.

The room was successfully containing the explosion, trapping the immense power within its reinforced shell.

The problem lay with the floor supporting the chamber. It was vibrating in sync with the blast, transmitting the tremors through the corridor and the rest of the structure like a massive tuning fork.

Fortunately, the disturbance was brief.

The shaking soon subsided, leaving no permanent structural damage to the walls. Only a lingering realization remained of how narrowly they had avoided a catastrophe.

Suddenly, the tablet in the researcher's hands began to emit a warning beep—a sound it had never made before.

"Oh my..." He stared at the screen, his hands shaking as he read the figures produced by a single man. "It's 220..."

The output surpassed the reference point of a 20 KT nuclear warhead by 120 percent, leaving them to wonder if their measuring equipment had malfunctioned.

Adyr turned to Zephan, his expression one of shock. "Did you improve it?"

When Zephan had previously unleashed his attacks against the Blood Dragon, the power had been inferior to the nuclear warheads they utilized; it had been significantly weaker.

"I've discovered a few tricks over the past few days." Zephan admitted with clear pride.

It hadn't been as effortless as he implied. He had spent the entire previous month dedicated to finding ways to bolster his primary offensive.

He had integrated new Spark skills that he believed would harmonize better with his core abilities, swapping out others in hopes of a superior result.

Ultimately, he had achieved this refined version, more than doubling the power and nearly tripling its original potency.

"I should ask you for some tips later," Adyr replied, half-joking but mostly in earnest.

He understood all too well the difficulty of weaving skills together to create something entirely new and more formidable.

Despite having mastery over all 4 Paths and access to every available Spark, refining his own skill combinations had been a long and arduous process, and it was still far from perfect.

Though he possessed many talents and excelled in various disciplines, he realized in that moment that Zephan surpassed him in this specific field. Asking for a few pointers seemed like an excellent idea.
