After refining his meridians in a spiritual bath, Bai Zihan confronts his new reflection, realizing his appearance perfectly matches the arrogant, disposable "young master" archetype of a cultivation novel. While attempting to settle back into his life and satisfy his earthly cravings for food, he is interrupted by the arrival of his sister, Bai Xueqing. As the clan’s primary genius and a figure of immense authority, she expects her brother's usual subservience. However, Bai Zihan shocks both his sister and his maid by meeting Xueqing’s gaze with unprecedented confidence and a nonchalant attitude that defies his previous reputation.

Bai Xueqing studied Bai Zihan for a moment before she found her voice again.

She found his sudden boldness in addressing her baffling, yet she dismissed it as a mere tactic designed to throw her off balance.

"Bai Zihan, are you even aware of your recent actions?" Bai Xueqing demanded.

"My actions?" Bai Zihan echoed.

A frown creased his forehead as he struggled to comprehend the source of her inquiry and the visible irritation on her face.

(Did I actually do something specific?)

The problem was that the list of his transgressions capable of provoking her was practically bottomless.

From thrashing some luckless soul to defying the Clan Elders or interrupting the Cultivation of others, his history was a long scroll of mischief. The only redeeming factor was that Bai Zihan had never taken a life; had he done so, he would have crossed the line from a troublesome cultivator to a full-blown demonic cultivator.

His confused response only served to fuel Bai Xueqing’s anger, causing her to lose her temper.

"Bai Zihan, your audacity knows no bounds! How dare you toy with the senior sisters of my Sect and even pick a fight with my seniors? Did you honestly believe there would be no consequences?" she yelled furiously.

(Ah! She’s talking about that!)

The realization finally dawned on Bai Zihan.

Following the annulment of her engagement, she had returned to the Bai Clan accompanied by a group of Elders and disciples from both the Clan and the Heaven Sword Sect.

While the Elders of the Heaven Sword Sect had already departed, several disciples remained behind, waiting to escort Bai Xueqing back to the Sect.

Because they were prestigious disciples who had supported Bai Xueqing, the Clan treated them with immense respect, and no one dared to offend them.

Well, almost no one.

It was simply their misfortune to cross paths with Bai Zihan.

He was well aware of the Heaven Sword Sect disciples staying within the Bai Clan estate, and he harbored a deep-seated resentment toward them.

Due to his mediocre talent and the Sect’s strict policy of only accepting geniuses, he had always felt looked down upon. That perceived discrimination had curdled into hatred.

Hearing the Bai Clan servants constantly gushing over their gentlemanly behavior only salted the wound.

Consequently, he decided to do what he did best: remind them who held the power here.

A smirk played on Bai Zihan’s lips as the memories resurfaced.

It had begun when he spotted those disciples wandering through the Bai Clan grounds, carrying themselves with insufferable arrogance.

The men paraded around like peacocks, while the women exuded an aura of cold, untouchable superiority. Their presence, combined with the fawning of the servants, was more than he could stomach.

"Master Shen is so refined. A true elite of the Heaven Sword Sect."

"Lady Yun possesses such grace. Her sword skills must be peerless."

"The disciples of the Heaven Sword Sect truly stand above the rest."

Bai Zihan ground his teeth in annoyance.

(Above the rest? What a joke!)

He didn’t have a personal vendetta against them as individuals, but the blind worship they received simply for belonging to a "prestigious Sect" disgusted him. He knew he wasn't a prodigy, but he refused to believe these arrogant fools deserved such reverence.

Thus, he felt compelled to take them down a peg.

When he spotted two senior sisters from the Heaven Sword Sect chatting near the gardens, he knew he had found his opening.

He recognized them as Yun and Fei, two renowned beauties and senior sisters to his own sibling. With a mischievous grin, he stepped out and cut off their path.

"Well, well, two beauties—what a stroke of luck! Have you lost your way?" Bai Zihan remarked. In truth, he didn't care about their looks; he couldn't even see their features clearly.

The two women were visibly startled by his sudden interference.

"Don't fret, I, Bai Zihan, would be honored to act as your guide," he added, his voice dripping with fake politeness.

The duo frowned, their lack of amusement evident. More than that, their faces twisted with a touch of contempt; there was no way they hadn't heard of Bai Xueqing’s notorious brother.

"We have no need for your help," Yun Qingmei replied icily. "Move aside!"

But Bai Zihan was just getting started.

"Oh? But surely it’s risky for such ladies to wander alone? One never knows what sort of thugs might be lurking about," he laughed, letting his tone turn suggestive.

Fei Ling’s eyes sharpened into slits.

"Are you implying something, Young Master Bai?"

"Not at all! I am merely looking out for our guests," Bai Zihan smirked. "After all, it’s a rare treat to have such… dignified Heaven Sword Sect disciples among us. If I didn’t know better, I’d think the Sect sent its beauties to seduce the men of the Bai Clan."

Yun Qingmei’s face flushed with rage. "You—! Mind your tongue!"

Fei Ling’s expression turned frigid as well. "We aren't here for your games. If you continue this insolence, don't blame us for taking action."

Bai Zihan feigned a look of deep hurt. "Ah, how cruel! I was merely admiring your presence, yet you offer me nothing but coldness? It seems the Heaven Sword Sect’s reputation for arrogance is well-deserved."

The two women were at their breaking point. Mocking them was one thing, but insulting their Sect was an entirely different matter. However, within the heart of the Bai Clan, they were effectively trapped. They couldn't strike him, fearing the Clan's inevitable retaliation.

Just as the tension reached its peak, a new voice cut through the air.

"What is going on here?"

Bai Zihan turned to see a group of male disciples approaching, led by Shen Liang, a powerful core disciple. Shen Liang’s eyes burned with barely suppressed anger.

"Are you bothering my junior sisters?" Shen Liang barked.

"Bothering?" Bai Zihan raised a brow. "What a harsh accusation! I was only engaging in a bit of neighborly talk. Surely the great Heaven Sword Sect doesn't forbid its disciples from speaking to strangers?"

"Enough of your lies!" Shen Liang’s face darkened. "Junior Sisters, who is this man? Has he harassed you?"

The atmosphere became electric. The disciples behind Shen Liang moved their hands to their sword hilts, and the nearby Bai Clan guards shifted uneasily. If a conflict erupted now, it wouldn't just be a petty spat—it could spark a full-scale feud between the Bai Clan and the Heaven Sword Sect.
