THE VILLAIN'S POV Chapter 738: Prophecy and an Unending Conflict (3)
Previously on THE VILLAIN'S POV...
"Just like your kind, you Upper Demons never miss an opportunity to boast about the strength your master bequeathed to you," he remarked, his gaze shifting toward the King’s Shadow.
"It seems the rumors were correct... the King’s Shadow possesses a truly terrifying might... a force capable of drowning out even the Lord of Light's own brilliance."
"Is this really the time to be admiring your foe's capabilities, Gehrman?" Vayne said with a threatening edge. "You are standing on the precipice of total destruction."
On the opposite side of the field, Abraham lunged toward Frey, but Nito intercepted him instantly, obstructing his path.
"Human, you aren't going any further."
The demons accelerated with lethal velocity, causing the tactical situation to crumble in an instant.
Dark shadows billowed upward, masking the surroundings like a suffocating cocoon of gloom that aimed to drain the very life from their bodies.
Enclosed within that darkness, Gehrman shut his eyes.
"Destruction... passing away... it would be a blessing if it truly ended like that," he whispered. "I could finally embrace rest and avoid the path I am forced to take."
He paused, a tired smile touching his lips as he went on.
"However, I lack the luxury of choice. I am driven by necessity, and my only path is to move forward."
"Then prove it to me," Vayne challenged.
She let her shadows fly.
A solitary blow would be enough to finish Gehrman for good.
Everything submerged into a deep blackness, as if the final curtain was falling.
Within Gehrman’s sapphire eyes, the world slowed to a crawl—eyes that could perceive truths hidden from all others.
He was the first to detect the change.
Amon followed a split second later.
Both sensed the bizarre disturbance manifesting in the heavens above.
Within moments, the rest of the combatants noticed the anomaly as well.
The night sky was littered with countless stars, yet for some inexplicable reason...
One specific star began to radiate with an intensity that outshone all others.
Then, a terrifying and majestic event occurred—something so impossible that every soul on the planet looked up in sheer dread.
The star began to expand.
It grew larger and larger.
It was descending.
That was no star.
It was a massive planet.
An entire world was screaming through the void at a speed beyond comprehension, growing until it consumed the firmament, planting seeds of terror in the hearts of both man and demon.
This gargantuan celestial body threatened to smash into Earth, signaling an end-of-the-world disaster.
The sight pushed those watching to the brink of insanity, their screams filling the air...
But at the very last moment...
The planet split apart.
It shattered into fragments.
A colossal detonation ripped the world asunder, bathing the Earth in a blinding radiance that consumed everything in sight.
For those few seconds, no one could see a thing.
Even the deepest shadows turned pale and insignificant against that overwhelming light.
Then, gradually...
A sound reached their ears.
The thunderous rhythm of hooves... vibrating through the heavens.
Four hooves were galloping, not across the earth...
But across the empty void.
Across the very sky.
Stunned, Vayne tried to turn her head to react, but she was far too slow.
He had already arrived.
A creature standing on four legs.
A centaur-like titan... its lower half was that of a stallion, while its upper torso was that of a giant.
Standing over ten meters tall, its massive silhouette completely blanketed Vayne.
From the shadows of his helm, eyes burned with a crushing yellow fire.
He gripped a massive blade forged from highly compressed aura.
Then...
With a single, heavy swing...
While Nito screamed and Amon watched in paralyzed shock...
Fulgor drove his sword down upon Vayne.
She tried to shield herself in a layer of shadows...
But it was futile.
The impact hit with the force of a thunderclap, catapulting her into the sky as the atmosphere itself detonated under the sheer pressure.
The force sent her soaring.
Higher and higher.
Further and further...
Until her body finally collided with a solid mass.
Vayne struggled to her feet, covered in blood, her life only spared by the thin protection of her shadows.
Only then did she understand her location...
She had been blasted off the face of the Earth.
Fulgor's strike had propelled her into the vacuum of space, slamming her into the surface of the shattered moon.
She stood upon the cracked lunar soil, paralyzed by disbelief.
Fulgor acted again.
His giant sword shifted instantly into a massive scythe.
With a fluid motion, he fired two titanic arrows that slammed into Nito and Amon at the same time.
The resulting blasts were devastating, knocking them back with violent force.
Then his hooves struck the void once more...
And he ascended back into the heavens.
"Gehrman," Fulgor called out, his voice echoing with deep resonance.
"Forgive me, old comrade. Handling the Rank Three is the best I can do for you at this moment."
Fulgor raced toward the moon, leaving the terrestrial battlefield to Gehrman.
Gehrman’s frame began to pulse with a sky-blue light as he braced for the coming struggle.
"That is plenty, my friend. You have my gratitude."
Gehrman and Fulgor shared a brief nod...
And a second later, Fulgor disappeared into the dark reaches of space to hunt Vayne.
The tension on the ground spiked instantly.
Gehrman moved toward Frey, hoping to pull him to safety...
But he was cut off when a razor-edged arc of energy whistled toward him, forcing him to halt.
It was Nito.
The Rank Nine had already repelled Abraham and now stood in Gehrman’s way.
"You aren't going anywhere."
Nito moved forward...
Then he stopped dead.
A ghostly light flickered into existence behind him.
"Those are my lines... you bastard. I haven't left yet."
It was Abraham.
He attacked with lightning speed, though Nito managed to dodge the strike.
Then...
In a heartbeat...
Nito’s body erupted with power as he launched himself toward the stars.
He ascended.
And ascended.
Until he pierced the atmosphere and floated in the vacuum of space.
Nito hoisted his heavy sword, the metal beginning to shimmer.
"The Slytherin Sword."
This was Nito’s primary weapon—a blade endowed with a terrifying trait.
Slytherin Sword: The further the distance the strike travels, the more its destructive potential increases.
Triggering the ability, Nito swung downward, unleashing a screaming arc of aura.
The blade-wave expanded...
And grew larger...
Fed by the sword's unique power, it had grown into a colossal meteor of energy by the time it reached the coordinates of Gehrman and Abraham.
Then—without warning—
BOOOOOOM!!!
A world-shaking explosion vaporized the entire zone under its weight.
Frey, holding Ada close, slowly opened his eyes...
He found himself at the epicenter of a massive, smoking crater, kept safe only by the mysterious artifact.
Even so...
A single attack from the Rank Nine Nito had caused unfathomable ruin.
Gehrman and Abraham had successfully dodged the blast...
But even they were visibly rattled by the scale of the damage.
"This is a problem... That man is remarkably lethal."
To make matters worse...
Nito prepared his sword once more.
"The next strike will be even more potent."
He wore a sinister grin in the void as a staggering brilliance flowed through his veins...
This was power gifted by Agaroth, the Demon King himself.
The second half of the Light Soul.
Nito was poised to unleash a total catastrophe.
But at the very last second...
A thundering wave of radiance crashed into his body.
Nito parried the sudden hit and turned toward the source...
Only to witness a streak of light charging directly at him.
It was a man in golden knightly plate, brandishing a sword of pure light and a massive round shield.
"You hold something that belongs to me, you treacherous demon mutt."
Snow Lionheart roared as he crashed into the fray from out of nowhere, colliding with Nito and grinding his momentum to a halt.
The battlefield dissolved into utter mayhem...
And the war was now destined to spiral into the great unknown.
