THE VILLAIN'S POV Chapter 732: The King’s Eye vs The Hand of the Ruler (1)

Previously on THE VILLAIN'S POV...
Gehrman continues his high-speed assault against Wesker, utilizing borrowed power that leaves his physical vessel dangerously fragile. To counter this agility, the Fourth-Rank Demon unleashes the Gate of the Sinners, flooding the sky with a sea of nightmarish creatures to eliminate any chance of evasion. However, a momentary distraction caused by the death of the Tenth-Rank High Demon allows Gehrman to bypass the horde and destroy the gate entirely. Now standing face-to-face once more, a furious Wesker releases his full aura for a final confrontation against the calm and resolute Engineer.

Wesker, the Fourth Rank of the High Demons and possessor of the King’s Eye, was an entity who had existed for countless eras. Throughout his long life, no one had ever managed to truly threaten him or bring him to the brink of destruction.

What is actually required to slay such a being—a creature that has endured for millennia, meticulously calculating every move it ever made?

Gehrman sought to find that answer today. He intended to seize this fleeting chance to display a fraction of his true strength, building upon the mental victory he had already secured over Wesker in their psychological clash.

The Fourth-Rank Demon’s demeanor had shifted significantly upon realizing Zibar was dead. His constant, mocking grin had vanished, replaced by a ghastly expression that betrayed his absolute fury and newfound seriousness.

Wesker thrust his hand toward Gehrman, his aura surging outward to manifest a massive hand that seemed to swallow the very sky.

Gehrman remained at a massive disadvantage compared to his foe, who had maintained total dominance since the start of the encounter. A single successful strike would likely finish Gehrman and end the battle in his defeat.

Consequently, he had no choice but to dodge Wesker’s strikes or meet them with a force of equal—or perhaps superior—magnitude.

The man with the blue eyes utilized the power he had acquired from Vulgar. Though it was magnificent and overwhelming, it was merely a temporary gift of strength.

Understanding that every drop of aura was precious, the Engineer opted to evade the coming blow, making use of his incredible speed.

Slipping past that enormous hand should have been a simple task... or so he presumed.

As Gehrman tried to shift his position, he suddenly became stationary. A crushing weight had descended upon him, pinning his body down with such force that movement became impossible.

"...Is this gravity?"

Utilizing his mastery over wave manipulation, Wesker had exerted a suffocating gravitational pressure on Gehrman from every angle.

The intensity of this gravity was horrifying—potent enough to twist and snap the strongest alloys. Now, Gehrman was forced to withstand it despite his failing physical shell.

Just as the giant hand was about to crush the trapped Gehrman, something intervened at the final second...

A massive beam of light crashed into the hand, slicing through it with perfect precision.

The light didn't stop there; it soared high into the heavens and detonated, bathing the world in brilliance and scattering the shadows of the night.

In that moment, the gazes of both Gehrman and Wesker snapped to the same point, immediately identifying the individual who had launched the strike.

However, he was already gone... his movement was simply too rapid.

In less than a heartbeat, he materialized like a ghost behind Wesker, swinging a heavy sword forged of concentrated light.

The opening was flawless. Wesker’s primary eyes were still focused downward... but that only applied to his natural sight.

Quite the contrary, the King’s Eye was already locked onto Abraham Starlight, watching him with a terrifying focus while emitting a baleful red light.

Simultaneously, Abraham’s luminous blade halted mere inches from Wesker’s face, stopped by one of the translucent shields guarding the demon’s form.

"You still refuse to let go of life, even though it has already abandoned you, human..."

Wesker reached out, and a violent torrent of dark energy blasted toward Abraham at point-blank range.

The deafening explosion seemed to consume Abraham entirely... at least, that is what Wesker believed. In reality, the Star of the Starlight family was already at his flank, leaving only a shimmering afterimage of starlight as he circled the demon in an instant.

"As long as I can fight to protect what is dear to me, I will cling to life with everything I have .. down to the very last particle of my being."

Slash!!

Abraham followed up with an even more powerful strike, but Wesker caught it with his other hand, which he had reinforced with a thick layer of dark aura.

"You will end up dead all the same."

Wesker surged his aura, quickly overpowering Abraham’s momentum... yet he was unable to land a finishing blow because his other rival was still active nearby.

"Do you really think you can afford to turn your gaze to another enemy, Wesker?" the Engineer cried out... but Wesker answered him instantly.

"No .. I was waiting for you. Waiting for the moment you came close."

Gehrman struck out again with his left hand, which was wreathed in a terrifying swirl of frostfire aura. The counter was immediate: dozens of crimson spikes erupted from Wesker’s body at high velocity, wrapping themselves around the Engineer’s arm.

Because of the King’s Eye, Wesker possessed total perception of every minor shift on the field, making him immune to surprise attacks or ambushes.

The spikes of blood quickly smothered Gehrman’s frostfire and threatened to pulverize his arm and then his entire frame. Even a minor blow from a Fourth-Rank Demon was now lethal to the Engineer.

Gehrman’s reaction was instantaneous. Without the slightest pause, he cut off the arm caught in the spikes. In that same heartbeat, frostfire swirled around the stump, manifesting a substitute hand made of burning ice.

This entire sequence took place in less than a second, showcasing Gehrman’s god-like mastery over his abilities.

He didn't just stop Wesker; he retaliated immediately with a lightning-fast punch that sent Wesker sliding back several meters.

The Fourth-Rank Demon stabilized himself quickly, now hovering in the air as he faced both the Engineer and Abraham.

The two allies shared a quick look before turning their full attention back to Wesker.

"I never imagined .. even in my wildest dreams that I’d be fighting him alongside you again," Abraham remarked with a faint, ironic smile.

"Don’t be surprised," Gehrman answered. "Fate sometimes prepares the most insane of events for us."

At those words, Abraham tightened his hold on his blade.

"...You .. don’t tell me you planned this from the very beginning?"

Looking at the way Gehrman had arrived and his calculated movements across the battlefield...

It felt as though he was privy to every single detail of the situation. Everything seemed to be moving according to a pre-set script, making Abraham doubt whether the Engineer had orchestrated the entire scenario.

’No... that’s impossible.’

Abraham pushed the thought aside. He vividly recalled how agitated Gehrman had been when Wesker first appeared years ago—back when he nearly kidnapped Frey while he was still a baby.

There was no way the Engineer could have known Wesker would show up then.

On that specific day... Gehrman had arrived in a state of panic. He had warned Abraham of the danger to Frey, claiming a cursed demon had arrived to take the child's life.

A demon by the name of... Wesker.

As he replayed that memory, Abraham’s eyes narrowed.

"He... knew..."

Even now, in the heat of battle.

Even with Wesker standing right before him.

Abraham couldn't stop these intrusive thoughts from taking hold. He was naturally perceptive and sharp-witted.

Previously, his only concern had been the safety of Frey and Ada. But now—now that he was facing Wesker alongside the Engineer—

Abraham was starting to connect the dots.

In the past, Gehrman had stayed by Anna Starlight’s side throughout her entire pregnancy. He was always there—watching over her until Frey’s birth and guarding the boy constantly.

But during the conflict between the Empire and the Ultras, while Abraham was locked in his final struggle against Dragoth...

The Engineer had suddenly vanished.

He had left Frey unprotected.

And in that very window of time—Wesker had made his move.

As these pieces fell into place, Abraham’s face turned grim.

"Are you telling me that all of this... is a coincidence?"
