The Return of the God Level Assassin Chapter 1305 1305: UPSET BROTHERS

As they headed towards the mansion, Shen Ji Yun cast a glance downward at Luo Yan. His gaze settled on the tidy little spiral of hair crowning his head. For a brief moment, the urge struck him to bend over and plant a light kiss precisely there. Nothing more than a gentle peck. Yet, since they weren’t in his home or any secluded spot, he restrained himself from kissing Luo Yan on a whim. Certainly not in this setting. Nevertheless, it sufficed. Luo Yan remained by his side, near enough for a casual touch. For the time being, that brought contentment.
Upon entering the mansion, they found Luo Ren, Luo Jin, and Bai Ze already lounging in the living room. Neither Luo Jin nor Bai Ze displayed any shock upon spotting Shen Ji Yun entering alongside Luo Yan. Luo Yan assumed his eldest brother had informed them beforehand.
"Ji Yun, why are you here this early?" Bai Ze inquired, his face showing real puzzlement.
Luo Jin gave a short huff. "For what other reason? He’s obviously come for Yan." His eyes narrowed towards Shen Ji Yun, laced with clear irritation in his voice. "Can’t you manage even one day apart from him?"
"Oh come on, Ah Jin," Luo Yan replied, giving his younger brother an eye roll. "If you were in B City, you’d visit Sister Yuqi’s place daily as well. You’d likely linger outside her school waiting." He guided Shen Ji Yun to the vacant sofa and settled down, pulling him to sit next to him.
A blush crept over Luo Jin’s cheeks. He parted his lips to protest or refute it, yet words failed him. Deep inside, he recognized that he’d indeed act that way. Catching the triumphant, pleased expression on his brother’s face sparked irritation within him. Clenching his jaw, he released a quiet, vexed pout.
Bai Ze slightly cringed at Luo Jin’s response. Wow, this fellow was utterly smitten with Su Yuqi. The mere idea of his cousin paired with that little demoness sent a chill through him. What on earth did Luo Jin find appealing in her? His taste was undeniably awful. He shook his head gradually. Perhaps Luo Jin harbored a masochistic tendency; it was the sole logical reason. Pity briefly flashed in his eyes as he regarded his cousin.
Luo Jin gazed back at Bai Ze in bewilderment. What sort of mental theatrics was his cousin enacting in his mind at this moment?
Luo Ren let out a soft chuckle, evidently relishing the unfolding spectacle before him.
Shen Ji Yun softly cleared his throat. Shifting the topic would be wise now. "Where are Uncle Wei Tian, Uncle Chen, Aunt Xiulan, and Xiao Ye?"
"Dad’s at the company," Bai Ze replied. "Uncle accompanied him. They needed to handle some matters there. Mom headed out for groceries. And Xiao Ye is still asleep."
In truth, he believed his mother didn’t need to purchase additional groceries. The cupboards and refrigerator were sufficiently filled. Yet, his mother likely deemed it inadequate following their hearty meal the previous evening.
Shen Ji Yun eased up upon learning the elders were absent. He extended his hand and clasped Luo Yan’s, softly tracing his thumb along the other’s delicate fingers.
As he observed Shen Ji Yun’s effortless gesture, Luo Ren’s brow arched. The manner in which he simply grasped Luo Yan’s hand, as if it were utterly commonplace. Luo Ren regarded him briefly. This individual truly stood apart.
Luo Yan glanced at their joined hands, a faint smile playing at his mouth’s edge. Then, an abrupt idea surfaced, altering his features to a more anxious cast. Raising his eyes to Shen Ji Yun, he asked, "Brother Ji Yun, do you and Uncle Yi Mu intend to visit the Shen family main house for the Mid-Autumn Festival?"
Luo Ren caught the concern flashing over Luo Yan’s countenance as he posed the query. A slight frown creased his forehead. "What’s the issue? Isn’t it customary for them to attend such a significant festival?"
Bai Ze appeared to pick up on it too. He inclined forward a bit. "Yeah, what’s the matter? Does this relate to the Lunar New Year incident?"
"What occurred on Lunar New Year?" Luo Ren questioned, intrigue sparking in his gaze.
Luo Yan sensed unease in airing Uncle Yi Mu’s private affairs this way. It resembled idle chatter in his absence. He, along with Luo Jin and Bai Ze, were already aware due to their shared involvement in Yunyue and having encountered Uncle Yue at Uncle Yi Mu’s residence during a visit to Shen Ji Yun. However, revealing everything to Luo Ren at this juncture, without the concerned party present to defend himself, felt improper.
Yet, his concern proved short-lived. Shen Ji Yun interjected, deftly redirecting the discussion to Luo Yan’s initial point. "Yan Yan is merely concerned since Shen Xin spotted us and discovered our relationship."
A deep scowl formed on Luo Jin’s face upon hearing this. "What exactly do you mean? And who is Shen Xin?"
Bai Ze straightened abruptly, almost standing. "Hold on, what?" he uttered sharply. "One of your jerk cousins learned about you and Xiao Yan? When exactly? And in what way?"
At that revelation, Luo Ren and Luo Jin both froze. Tension etched Luo Ren’s features, furrowing his brow. Luo Jin’s fingers balled into fists on his lap, his frame rigid. Happiness was absent from either’s expression.
"Explain," Luo Ren commanded curtly, his tone frosty, eyes locked on Shen Ji Yun.
Luo Yan chose to clarify personally. Should he defer to Shen Ji Yun, the latter might offer only a skimpy summary and end it there. Such brevity would merely heighten his brothers’ distress.
"So... roughly a month back," Luo Yan started, "Brother Ji Yun and I headed to a shooting range for a date."
